Big shout out to Aleph One for their work. After familiarizing myslef with Halo and Marathon over the past two decades, I think I now understand what people meant when they used to say "To understand Halo you need to immerse yourself in Marathon, PiD, and Bungie's early outings" on forums back in the day. Marathon gives so much context for Halo as a product and elevates the player's appreciation of the vision that Bungie had for the Halo universe. I think Halo 4, despite it's clunky writing and bizarre pacing, was probably the best "Halo 4" we were ever going to get considering that not even Bungie felt confident in a Halo 4 existing which is why we got Reach and 3 ODST which successfully carry those Bungie Marathon vibes.

Infinite's core MP gameplay is probably my favourite in the franchise for 4v4 arena. Map design is my biggest gripe. DUDE I think you are onto something: that is totally the kind of history-bending that AC would do for the sake of getting some iconic stuff into the same game.

And you have to successfully board 7 ships to get the full Turtle armor, weapon, and shield set.

FO76 suffers from what I call LOP syndrome (lack of profits)
this usually stems from poor delivery or development, sometimes both. The symptons usually manifest in the form of underbaked gameplay, terrible balance, and in FO76's case it manifests in a particularly nasty microtransaction system where paying money gives you substantial in game buffs.

the lack of inventory space is huge, what's worse is that all weapon are leveled, meaning you can't use them, AND all weapons need to be repaired from time to time. Last time I played, you could not repair with junk items. Meaning if your weapon breaks, you need to be lucky enough to scrape a few atoms from challenges to buy rpair packs

If you pay a subscription you won't have this issue

I personally have not enjoyed Valhalla as much. I think because it was already in development by the time Odyssey came out, it can't be blamed for its elimination of nearly all the seafaring + control scheme that hadn't been refined to Odyssey's intuitiveness. But the setting itself was bland for me, because ancient England/Ireland/France was...kind of the same as our climate, and with dirtier and way less grandiose metropolises than the preceding games.

But the actual Valhalla stuff is awesome, a huge step up from Odyssey's Atlantis stuff (which was itself great).

And I've loved shows like The Last Kingdom, so it surprised me that being in that world was not exciting on the game screen.

Oh gosh. Now I'm reminded that I never actually finished Odyssey's main story. I was going through the DLCs and stopped at one point and didn't get back into it.

I had ~130 hours in at that point too.
