I think the confusion here is terminology: the shorter 20-lvl "battle passes" are called "Operations" in Halo Infinite.

the operations are 500 and thats for only one item

fortnite is 950 and gives you back 1.2k-1.5k

Who defines that? They confirmed they professionally put Forge maps through a rigorous multi-step eval and rev process before using it publicly. More and more games rely on community-made content as a large part of their body of playable content. Is it just a "Made in the USA" analogous feeling for 343 internally made stuff?

There's definitely been discussions too about community keeping the game on going and the game still pushing a quite aggressive monetization while the community who help upkeep don't really get much in return, as there is with other games. But that's another thread of discussion.

Yeah so the reason I bring it up is, bigger or no, the complaint from the fans showcases how poorly most people understand map dev in relation to player abilities and movement.

Just because a new game came out and it has connections to the old doesn't mean old maps can be added in without significant tweaking-too much of the same and you get accused of doing too little, and you still need to rigorously playtest these maps on your new models and your new abilities and whatnot to make sure a broken combo won't occur and modify accordingly.

Nothing's ever as simple as 'just add it!'. It's why there's a lengthy proving process for forge maps in matchmaking.

i think you're grossly oversimplifying what i was saying. of course there is/are tweaking/changes that need to be made to account for the new movement/abilities with the older maps. the bigger complaint i've seen (at least in the circles i frequent) is that there aren't enough maps, which is why i think it makes sense to take the popular maps and give them an updated look/feel. the forge remakes just don't hit the same for me, and the fact they get put into rotation at all i believe speaks to the fact it's not a waste of time for 343 to put 'official' dev time into them

In one of my forge projects, i was trying to figure out how to do something. And i kept not succeeding in making it the way I wanted it. I kept trying and failing. But all of those failures in the end were just ways of knowing how not to do that approach, which would lead me to when i succeeded
