I'm pretty sure you guys are not understanding the situation correctly. It's not simply that 343 is asking for maps for the community and somehow that's bad. It's more about the fact that the content for the game seems to be winding down and appears to be more reliant on community content rather than 343 producing this good stream of content. We had one map from the update. No new game modes or sandbox items. They did away with seasons, proving a net negative when it comes to quality of passes and ammount of passes as well as increase of store items which could have been battle pass. The game was getting to a certain state when it was getting close to not being catch up anymore, rather to start really providing that live service experience. And then it seems to wind down. On the cusp of things having a good cadence, it winds down. This also applies to the academy story

Context of all of that is what is behind the sentiment. Where community feels, "okay so it's the community providing a big part of the content now. Reliant on that rather than more in-studio.". And that's where that discussion comes from

Looking it up, it's... Not clear. Apparently it's canonically a Starktech tank of some kind, and is loosely based off of the Mk10 British Chieftain, which was apparently utilized by Iran IRL-so even without the Ten Rings=Starktech connection, it would've been hypothetically a viable presence in terrorist hands, assuming it was well-heeled, maybe, but that's getting into middle eastern politics, so beyond that I'm going to bite my tongue.
