I played through reach for the first time to the end around mid last year, but got busy so I couldn't play halo for a while, but toward the end of last year, I played through it a few more times (because it's my favourite Halo game by far),

depends on how you modded maybe. if you got the mods via steam then should be fine, mods usually have separate selection screens outside of the generic campaign option, and are only visible if you launch MCC with anti cheat disabled

i miss the clanwars in old real time strategy (rts) games, they would get really fun. the skill gap would be so huge some players were almost unbeatable. trash talk, dodging games, people posting replays publicly for all to see (bc it's a gg, to boast, or maybe to trash talk their strat attempt), also the usual good sportsmanship and sharing, but the bad side was funny. it was drama from at the time the younger generation, barely any social media

if you're really into competitive scene of a game it's great to have a higher tier of player and see/ watch them play, to learn from. years ago they were in clans and the competitive scene was ranked clanwars

It's not overly complex. Halo wars was actually the first rts game i've ever played.

So it's actually pretty cool and unique in that fandom in college sports is very rooted in personal history. Like me and Dad spent countless hours of him throwing me diving touchdown passes in the living room when I was a little kid pretending I was playing for University of Michigan, so I'll always be a Michigan fan and not a Michigan State University fan even if I live in Alaska one day.
