It helps that it released back when Halo wasn't quite as bad reputation wise, and it had the benefit of there not being any real competition. It had a ton of fairly priced dlc as well but had no competive scene in the end because it was unbalanced with air units being unbeatable.

you get in the vehicles and go down at really high speeds trying to avoid the people with hammers. works like infection, so if u die, u join them in trying to kill the other people flying downwards

So I am hoping that the remaining of the campaigns which is ce, 2, reach and halo 4 on both main campaign and spartan ops campaign gets cross platform coop support so both Xbox and PC can play together and don't need to be on same platform type. Like how halo 3 and odst coop has in mcc now.

Infinite is a significant departure from the rest of the series in terms of atmosphere and storytelling, but its short-term gameplay loop is better than any of the other titles in my opinion. Personally, it strays too far from what made me fall in love with the series for me to recommend it as a first time experience. But my taste is my own and is entirely subjective; other people enjoy the franchise for different reasons than I do

CE and 2 are the two strongest games to start the franchise on in my opinion, at least in terms of establishing the setting and representing what drew me in. CE introduces one of the antagonists in a way that is bar none, and I cannot recommend it enough for that aspect alone

Just bear in mind that these games were designed up to twenty years ago, so the way that they control can feel a little unrefined at times, especially in CE. I also recommend that your first playthrough of CE is done with classic graphics instead of remastered. It doesn't look as pretty, but it offers a more cohesive and consistent experience if you were to ask me

Microsoft put so much money into the Slipspace engine for Halo Infinite that to make their money back on it, they're going to have all of their gaming companies use it. Anything sold on Xbox will need to use Slipspace. If it wasn't made in Slipspace, the devs have to port it to Slipspace and all games not using Slipspace will be removed from the store on April 1st.
