And I am a bit frustrated about one thing specifically: I lost a couple of KOTH matches purely because the other team managed to capitalize in owning a Wasp vechice. Am I the only one who feels that vehicle is too hard to destroy?

A couple reasons.
One is that they combined a lot of items that were spread out across 100 tiers into 50 tiers.
Another is that they reworked events to be longer so people have more time to complete them.

I think giving more freedom to players is always a good call

Because veto was terrible, only surpassed by voting as a bad idea
Voting is awful. Having to play on the same maps over and over again either because they are popular or someone thinks they have an exploit or having that team of four decide what you play because you're playing with randoms.
Veto isn't much better as when something different comes up you not only have it vetoed and end up playing on the same map over and over again you also have somebody screaming 'veto map or game mode x'

What they do is provide an illusion of choice for most and causing the same maps to be played over and over. I've yet to see any actual benefit to either system. Veto is less painful than voting, but neither make the games more fun to play, rather the opposite. If you enjoy playing the same maps over and over than you may find those systems worthwhile. I do not.

Having a map rotation system is the best imo. Ideally I would alter it so that the same map never got chosen twice in a row provided you stayed in the lobby, but overall it's the best system.

I would also be happy with what they did with 5 or 2 and make it so you played and two characters. You could make it open world like Infinite but don’t at the same time i don’t like open worlds for story telling. It’s just too much. I can never get into them. I think if they did the next game with master chief and another spartan like Jerome, or Naomi or even spartan iv like horvath I would be cool with that.
