oh no Reach was 100% teraformed so it could support humans. The original atmosphere of the planet couldn't. I don't think it was the 1st colony world either, it was part of the 1st wave of extra solar colonization tho.
That consisted of the entire planet being teraformed from 2362 to 2390, and a 2nd wave of major colonization started
Another fun fact is the planet is very young, apparently either 1 billion years old exact or just under it (idk if an exact number has ever been posted) vs Earth's 4.6 billion years of age

You can pretty much drive to the end without too much issue.
There's two or three bits with a Wraith where RNG might get you but other than that its a breeze
