I missed the discussion, but talking ultimate objectives: if you would have more peace of mind knowing that you haven't started a ticking time bomb with some modification of your device, isn't the "tax" of having an external ssd worth it in the long run?

I just have mine connected to a 4TB ext HD and games don't run noticeably slower.

and even then that doesn't always happen

hdd's can fail just by getting slower and slower and slower overtime and you won't notice it because it's such tiny incrementals

My Warzone k/d was over 3 for a while I think. I'm terrible at PvP gunfights, but the additional elements of the full-scale battle nature of Warzone made sense to my brain.
