DMR is useless hands down: if an unshielded head is in the reticle, it should be a headshot no questions asked

I think its in order the games landed on mcc on pc though not 100% sure

3 is the best co-op game and really unless you're playing co-op and just goofying around, you should start with CE

I think for veteran players, playing chronological order is still okay because there’s some awareness that the gameplay jump from 2010 Reach to 2001 CE is gonna hit like a freight train. But for brand new players who’ve never touched Halo before, chronological is definitely a no no.

Oh for sure. I highly doubt anyone entering Halo for the first time now is going to find the same joy in any of the original trilogy as we may have had back in 2001-2007. Most of the lauding for it today is based on nostalgia. The vast difference between gameplay expectations today and back then is too great to easily sway anyone with no prior attachment.

I'll drive and leave the gunner but I'll usually not leave them in the open but facing a choke point because there's a need for another gun and not a warthog driver.

I'd honestly rather do the third one myself but some people don't get the hint.

i strongly believe in a 2 man hog run for the flag, the gunner should stay on the gun, let the driver grab the flag, and then only when the driver gets in the passenger seat, the gunner swaps to the drivering seat

All my time playing btb I’ve only ever had one gunner who understood I was driving in a way that allowed them strafing runs. Most of them think I’m messing around. One even angrily told me to stop so they could aim.

It's kind of interesting how fun and playable Gears 3 is even now, but this goes for all the old games. It's actually one of the best things about the franchise-all the Gears games are pretty similar in design, layout and gameplay, so it's a very consistent experience that's basically the closest you can get to being tactile-ly backwards compatible. Amusingly, 5 had a very samey TTK to Halo 3. The game itself was faster paced due to having more movement options but the TTK was not.

The BR has the same TTK as Halo 3's and most weapons were geared to have a TTK in the BR's ballpark.

Deeper stuff is things like how elites were still assassinating Kaidons and whatnot through the entirety of the Covenant's existence for political plays on their homeworld, or how Jul's Covenant purposely tuned down the heat on their energy swords to make their opponents bleed more.

They are featured in the cutscenes as part of the narrative when seeing or talking about the past

Pavium and his brother foolishly attacked high charity, the flood came out, they contained, they got information from there which lead them to anodyne spirit, then they got the shard from first strike which allowed them to do things so they could open the portal on reach to let atriox back
