Is it me or are the sentry locations really unbalanced on some maps in the new Sentry Defence gamemode?

Had a game on highpower, and for one team one of their sentries is visible from about the mid-way point of the map, while for the other team both of their sentries will only be visible from close to their spawn

What the hell is wrong with the new update? On my first game (Husky Raid) there was lag and sometimes it felt like I was running on ice. AND we ended up playing 4 against 5 opponents (got clips of how we got wrecked in the end). Like seriously? Why is everytime they release a new update, game is more and more broken? The same things happen on other games like Sea of Thieves.

And for the first time in a long time, I was interested in some of the new cosmetic, only to realize they force the buy of a 3200 credits bundle instead of selling 3 smaller bundle. I ain’t going to pay skins the price of 2 dinner 😂 whats up.

I definitely would add Jackals since they're more neutral and depending on profit or bounty. Elites are definite allies for a majority since some are growing tired of constant fighting, others are young warriors who sympathize with the humans. Grunts varies.

Funny bug in halo infinite: very rarely you can get 0 score from a match no matter how many kills, along with it: the game won’t register what gamemode, playlist, nor the duration. It doesn’t count kills, deaths, nor assists. Everything appeared as 0

I'm not a fan of people that AFK, and most of the time you can absolutely quit out/ turn off. For those rare occasions where you do need to just drop everything, that kind of punishment is really overkill.
Giving out harsh punishment for consistently AFKing, sure, but for people with zero patterns of it, like a one off, absolutely not. That's how you kill your playerbase

From where Ive been looking at it I feel like Halo players are the worst what it comes to new things. Theyll hate on anything new in the game. I got a few friends where if it was up to them the combat would still be like idk Halo 3. Including no sprint. For some reason the sprint was always a massive point of contention and its like ??? thats a standard thing in most shooters now. Halo is actually trailing behind on movement

We still cant lay flat on the ground for example. Cant remember when we got sliding but I think that was trailing behind just as much as the sprinting.

And Infinite's customisation is basically Reach's with a couple differences, mainly the different armour cores to choose from and the coating system

You're right about the BP but you misunderstood what I mean, I'm referring to controlling what you want to unlock by spending your own earned currency

The BP model has you unlock items in a set, locked in order

I'm with you on that. That's the biggest issue with the BP. I mean Infinite does the BP best by doing away with the temporary FOMO, but at the same time everybody unlocks the same things at the same rate. It's inherently less "custom" in my opinion

And then of course the other Halo games had custom options for certain achievements I liked that. In H3 if you saw someone with security you knew they were a badass

I have seen some people saying that paid cosmetics should be scrapped completely for that method but the realities of the industry right now just doesn't allow for that to be feasible for a game like Halo

That's not to say that something being unlocked via getting an achievement can't happen, it just wouldn't be the primary way

My ideal scenario would be there's a free method, either akin to Halo 4 or Reach (But with less of the gating what can be obtained that Reach had at certain ranks), a paid battle pass system that you can progress on in parallel to the free system and some hidden unlocks behind campaign achievements

This forced 50% win rate sucks, if you are top 10% of the population you should be able to get 60% or 70% win rate, you are better so that is how it should be. The stupidest thing is because if you are good at the game the game can't find you a better opponent to they find you a worse teammate so you loose

There is no forced 50% win rate

Systems are designed to try and give you as close to a 50% chance of winning as it can, it's then up to each team to win. There is nothing that forces players into winning or losing intentionally so they remain at that rate.
TS2 can be fairly accurate in predictions, but it doesn't choose the winner of the game before it starts. Multiple 343 employees have commented on this in the past too. If I can find the tweets, both Unyshek (CM) and Josh Menke (ex-343 and Bungie, one of the designers of matchmaking systems for Halo 3 and 5) have said this is not true

That is just a long winded way of saying a forced 50%. because if you get better, you will get harder opponets or worse teammates. giving you a less chance of winning. So it forces you back down to a 50% chance of winning. I don't understand why they trying to talk their way out of it, If you win more than 50% the game will raise your CSR and you will face harder opponents until you start lossing more so you lose CSR. It is not forcing you to win or lose every game but in the LONG term over 10-20 games it is forcing you to win and loose based on your CSR

If we ignore the word forced win rate. I still do not like the fact that it gives you a 50% chance of winning. If you are good, you should have a higher chance of winning. If you are the top 1% player base, you should not have to carry 3 complete noobs just so the game is a even 50% chance of winning vs 4 plat/diamonds.

tbf, I don't think it will always give you 50% because of population issues, but I also think that's not the main thing you should be focused on. My guess is you'd be less annoyed if it was still 50%, but you got better teammates which led to a more evened out kill contribution instead of having to carry games all the time and the same for the other team. You could still lose, but at least the game would feel like everyone contributed. I think how the game balances teams when it's a 50% chance of winning is the main problem that I don't like.

I miss the halo 5 PVE game mode. It was so much fun. So expansive and with Reqs, that really let you control your play style

I played the heck out of that. And now in Infinite, I focus on firefight. I do miss the req system though I didn't really like the PTW aspect of it.

The irony of the situation is that Halo 4's biggest crime was taking what Reach did and building on it. Bungie wanted to have things like loadouts and sprinting in Halo as far back as Halo 2, and 343i expanded the former and made the latter a base ability everyone has at all times

I just read Halo: The Rubicon Protocol which gives a ton of backstory on the events immediately before the Halo Infinite campaign. Wish I’d have read it before playing through. It is actually nuts how well the book set up the campaign for several large DLCs

Friendly fire has been in Halo since CE. The reason why it's enabled is because;

1. It encourages you to think before sending that rocket into that group of three enemies and one friendly
2. It makes you think before walking in front of your teammate with the sniper rifle
3. Accidentally killing your teammate is extremely funny

However, if you're killing your teammates regularly, then you're clearly not caring about actually helping your team win the game

Which is why the game lets them boot you from the game and can ban you

If I recall, you don't just get a 7 day ban from the first time you get booted for team killing

So you must've been doing it consistently enough in games to warrant 7 days

Also if friendly fire means the game isn't fully developed to you, please look at actual unfinished builds of games

Friendly fire in Halo Infinite is OFF. The one of the ways to kill teammate in HI is hitting an ally by warthrog/banshee or smt like this. So if FF is off game SHOULDN'T ban for that.
To get ban in HI by teamkill you need to kill teammate 3 times, third one will ask killed teammate about booting you. Boot will result a ban: 5,10,30 minutes, 2h, 1d, 2d ...u know.
So killing teammates is funny, i don't know what is so bad in this. The fact that they can die is their problem, not mine, they should keep their eyes open. So banning for that is mistake

Joysticks are more precise for movement, as you can input any angle, not just on the 45 degrees.
Mice are more accurate for quickly aiming.

Anyone else freeze when they try to play halo infinite's campaign on pc? Like it freezes my entire pc to the point that I have to restart it, I have a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RX 7600 XT so it shouldn't be happening. And my graphics drivers are up to date.

I am not sure if it is just the campaign or other modes, it doesn't happen with any other game

And it's not crashing, it's just freezing my entire pc to where I can't do anything until I restart it

if its graphics related, then Win+Ctrl+Shift+B should unfreeze it

i'd also clean reinstall your GPU driver cause that can help a lot of crashes

but you just end up with issues with so many chipset / cpu changes

you cant exactly "clean" reinstall those drivers like you can with a GPU

Every time you quit a game during a 24 hour period you'll get an increased ban length. 5 minutes, then 15, then 30, etc. Grows exponentially.

There is 1 map where the sentry from one team can just be shot across the map lol.

So bad placement, while the other is like perfectly hidden, its the map with a cave with a rocket in it, and the big gun in the middle dont remember the game

Sounds like evidence against this idea that 343 is trying to wipe out any reference to Bungie working on the games. Because surely if that was the case, they would've kept Halo 4's credits

Halo 5 came at a point where Xbox was just starting to port titles to PC and before Gamepass was made. Xbox PC ports were troublesome. Forza, Gears of War for example suffered with terrrible unplayable and questionanle consumer rights quality.

Since then, Xbox practices development for both pc and xbox so it's seamless now but back then with Halo 5 they didn't have that and a port would take a lot of work to get it right to acceptable pc gamer standards.

Who ever thought taking away the credits from the games was a great idea - it's not, cause it kills the whole experience. Playing the credits in another menu is not it.

That's how it was in Halo 4 with Spartan Ops, the pre-rendered cutscenes weren't tied to specific missions within Spartan Ops

Well, the last one was tied to beating the last Spartan Ops mission but that's it

But like, that's not exactly the problem with Spartan Ops. The concept of it being a second campaign basically was great, but the execution leaves lot to be desired
