I’m using a PS5 controller with a 8BitDo as connector. Works perfectly, in my opinion it’s more precise than the pro controller. Though, sometimes it feels as if it lags but it doesn’t happen often.

We got physics same as global. Global users has been driving with this physics ever since the game launch. And there's no problem. So GL is not gonna change physics. Agree. This is another suggestion on how to improve the game experience @true oar . Each platform should have its own PERMANENT general channel. There are so many platform specific issues and stuff to discuss of no interest to the other platforms. In addition, the general global chat is full of nonsense and it’s impossible to follow discussions given the large number of participants posting there that information gets lost. I understand that you’re trying to get everyone under the same roof in order to follow the motto of ’Unite’ but the coin has two sides. History has proven that forced unifications have had a negative effect (and in some cases led to wars and revolutions).

Try 50 then if you feel like you need to tilt the controller too much to turn, try something higher, but if you're still too imprecise with your car then try something lower, and so on, by doing like that you'll find your ideal sensivity with tilt to steer controls

I tried to post a link for you to GL’s website where you can redeem codes but the bot gave me a warning instead. Let’s see if this works. Go to the gamleoft website. There’s a section specifically for redeeming codes. Once there click it. Then choose Unite and it should take you to the redeem code field. This worked much better for me than having to go via the in-game function. You’ll have to login anew to the game and the rewards should appear. It may take a short while so don’t despair.

I managed 1:00.7 in the first session. Am using tilt with auto accel, sensitivity 70%. Try wall riding and charge up nitro while you’re riding. Then nitro out of the curves.

Actually the opposite, I increased it. In A9 I normally used 50% for cars with good handling and went up to 55-65% depending on how bad handling the cars had. In ALU I had to increase the sensitivity slightly compared to my normal settings by 2-5%, eg for Valhalla I now use 52%. If they fix the horizontal tilt issue I guess I’ll go back to 50% (due to difficulties in seeing how the car behaves with horizontal tilt it was my solution to compensate for the loss of the car control). The GP car has pretty bad handling so I increased the sensitivity more than normally. I may go down a bit since it was a but flimsy.

Yup, I have exactly the same experience (and my club mates on stick too). Am trying out the sensitivity levels too but I feel it’s a bit more advanced science now and more parameters to take into account. Cars are ’stiffer’. In A9 you could tinker with handling but now it feels as if you also need to take acceleration into account since it impacts the handling more than it did in A9.

I believe the daily packs that we were suppose to get until sept. 11th were sent all at once. I opened a bunch of the packs from the daily screen. when my daughter updated her game, she didn't get any of those packs. Don't know if it was because of her garage level (10) that she didn't get any or not. Don't know if the packs that I opened was because of the update in garage levels or not. I was 18 in A9 and was 30 after the update.

Using the stick for steering feels like my car is heavily braking at the slightest touch, even on low sensitivity, but this behaviour is completely different to d-pad. It's like sticks have been massively overtuned compared to the d-pad. Is that being looked at?

Now, if you tilt the stick with the way you've used to, you will lose the speed a lot.
You should practice tilting the stick slightly.

I understand the physics, but the sticks are overtuned or not interacting with the sensitivity setting appropriately. I hear the same from many players in groups on other social platforms, even slight touches resulting in large chunks of speed loss. They physics work as expected with digital input from the d-pad, but the analogue sticks feel very overtuned by comparison. Given pressure is subjective (which is where the sensitivity setting comes in) this likely needs looking at as an accessibility issue.

Seen a clip, I'm convinced anyone complaining about the analog stick is a bot that doesn't know how to steer lightly. What we had before was broken because the cars slowed down a lot less when turning, making blue nitro outside of grass patches obsolete and making half of our cars useless, your car isn't hard braking when you move left or right, you're just flicking the stick, lower your sensitivity to 30-40 and use the stick as if it is a real steering wheel, it allows you to make small continuous adjustments and take turns at better angles

yep we finally have analog steering but because of how broken were the joysticks on old a9 switch, people are using it like it was digital and they don't naturally steer lightly, which is normal I suppose considering the previous 4 years of gameplay

plus there's the huge gameplay change with the fix of manual acceleration so many players don't know anymore how to play the game so I guess that's why they blame the joystick (even if I agree that joycon's sticks aren't ideal, they're sooo small, but it works...)

Yea I can agree that it probably sucks to use but it's not impossible, so any of you complaining about the analog stick, stop flicking it, that's now how steering a car works for gods sake, if one person with original Joycons can do it then so can you and my other bits of advice would be to either get a joycon analog stick extender or get a tension circle or whatever it's called, it's basically a rubber ring that goes around your analog stick and makes you have to push a bit harder to turn in any direction, it's made for analog sticks with low tension. If you can't get used to it, go use D pad, analog stick doesn't suck, YOU suck at learning how to use it properly now

The only time it should be doing that is at the Cairo turn or sharp drifts in general

Second that. Manual mode with stick is bugged. Try the 1st stage of the Bailey SE, last curve in Cairo. The car stops drifting at some point (no change in inputs) mid-curve, jerks to the left a bit and slows down as if braking. The opposite happens on some other tracks / curves, i.e. you stop drifting but the car keeps on drifting a bit longer, tightening the turn more than you want. TD is the only option for now. For ref: using joycons, sensitivity lowered to 50% (not that it matters).

Quick race has been reset back to zero.. whic wouldn't normally be a problem as it's fairly quick to redo using touch drive and high rank cars.
But touch drive is broken in quick race. It doesn't allow you to choose the route.

Thinking more about the control issue, it's really two things. One is being used to a control method for 4 years and then having it change. But the other is that the switch joycon sticks have very little travel, so analog control is pretty hard because a tiny push goes from 0 to 100 much faster than when using a ps or Xbox controller. I think the solution is to enable an option to make the joycon analog stick register as digital, like it used to and like the dpad currently does . It wouldn't provide any advantage to switch players it would actually level things

Ah, I thought it concerned the Asterion issue but this is the Egoista. I had a similar issue with Asterion. I crashed into a barrier and after that a part of the front panel/wheel (it was difficult to discern what it was) stuck out throughout the rest of the race. First I thought it was a new ALU feature - crashed cars driving around in a crashed state as in some other racing games. But in this case it appeared to be a bug.

Just to add some context and clarification, updates are the big ones we drop along with the patch notes and including the new season content. Next one is slated for 25th of September.
Unfortunately Nintendo and Sony have stricter requirements to deploy updates in their stores so we can't be as flexible deploying hotfixes as we are with the other platforms. Particularly for Nintendo, including the fix in the update will also allow us to start our certification process earlier and avoid potentially delaying the update for the console.

Just trying to add some extra transparency to help understand why things happen the way they do sometimes. Hope this helps 🙏

Yes though practicing is just part of the equation. Even if GL reinstated the old A9 switch physics...would you guys be ok waiting 6 hours to be able to play again with an S car? (Like the Bailey's SE event going on right now). Or you can pay 250 tokens to keep playing. Same for ticket refills. ALU burns more tickets per event than A9 did in the switch (i.e car hunts now are 2 tickets and hunt riots 3 tickets). So it's hard for me to enjoy this game now, and this is just my personal opinion from a hardcore player that has been playing A9 since November 2019 and always bought the LP.

No one is saying change the controls. As you acknowledge, the dpad is digital. If we had a PlayStation controller, where the dpad is in a comfortable place, then it would not be an issue. The problem is about the joycons in particular where the stick has very limited travel and we do not have a real dpad, we have four face buttons. @true oar There's some massive attrition in our clubs right now because people are so frustrated with the way this transition was handled. People who have played the game for YEARS are leaving and not coming back. It is in GL and Nintendo's best interest to actually listen to the players and actually fix some of the issues that were caused by the transition.

1: Let us port our accounts to other platforms if we want.

2: Fix the dilly dang manual controls! There's no way to smoothly turn the car in manual control! AND as you turn in manual control, you're constantly losing speed. On the same tracks with the same cars, top level players are MUCH slower than what they used to be because you guys changed the physics of the driving SO MUCH. It's not fun to go back to kindergarten after you've finished college!

3: Stop making the game increasingly worse and charging more money for it.

4: I'm sure there's a lot of other issues i haven't mentioned, but everyone at GL should be in discord reading these posts to learn all those issues.

One important thing missing in this list is the issue with refuel times and higher ticket requirements. The game is absolutely not functional as is where we can only do a handful of races and then we need to wait 6 hours to race again. The game as is is a piecemeal charging system, constantly asking for tokens to refuel and refill. It's also disappointing and really no motivation do play MP races when almost all of the good rewards are only obtainable if the MP pass is purchased.

You can tell your CEO that he will lose between 200k and 500k€ (per year) in turnover on the Switch just with this change on the gameplay for Switch. Feel free now to do something to not lose your job like the Romanian studios lost theirs.

At first all icons were loading properly but from few days some icons in dailies and in the shop doesn't load at all and we can't clear cache! Restarting the game which should be the same as clear cache doesn't work 😭

It's been like this for 2-3 days. Same for few icons in the shop (I don't check the bundles anymore. I won't even check them until this annoying thing is fixed).

@true oar A question on something that’s a bit inconsistent/illogical. In the mobile versions you can choose sensitivity also for touchdrive. This is not available in Switch (I guess the same goes for the other consoles). On the other hand, we inherited the horizontal tilt in dock mode from the phone versions. So how come we get one of the mobile features but not the other?

Action cam is laggy in both 60 and 30 fps. steady cam is smooth but can't see the track when in the air in norway and always landing out of bounds. its extremely annoying, not a fun experience

Gameloft how could you ruin such a fun game. Half my club quit because the controls are so terrible compared to what we had. How many would quit if the controls were reversed? Probably not many because it's actually more fun to play the way it was. Why can't you make it an option for everyone to choose their settings? We're at such a disadvantage now... Either fix the way joysticks work without slowing us down or give us an option to choose. This game is not fun anymore.

I totally agree. It literally feels like we're walking around the map instead of running. This demotivates any player... especially if they're a beginner or intermediate player...

Before (with cars with a top speed above 400) I would make huge curves and not go below 300... now I make a 2 second curve and the car goes from 400 to 100... and then to make matters worse it takes ages to get back to top speed...

Yes. I have a long history with this game since Asphalt 8. Have had A9 accounts in Mac, Xbox and Windows....but nothing as awesome as the Nintendo Switch version. I truly hope GL will make things right and fix the refuel times, simplify the P2W and eliminate the constant nagging for tokens in ALU. I survived the transition from Asphalt 8 to Asphalt 9 but I won't stick to ALU as it is right now. Not fun and not functional.

Hi. Thank you (both) for responding. This is how my LTE and store appear. Not every pack/race are like this, but probably 80% or maybe 90%. In Legends there was a "clear cache" button under setting which meant the graphics files would reload and the issue would be resolved. That button however is no longer there. It doesn't matter how long you wait, the graphics don't appear. I've even left it on overnight on the LTE screen to no avail. Thank you.

So while starting a race my software suddenly closes and when I start it, the fuel of my car is gone and so are my tickets. Yesterday I was playing the grand prix. All three of my attempts were used by the software just closing randomly on me. Because of this I had to use my own tokens to even get one successful attempt down.
