@stuck quarry , from talking to people with this issue it seems to be happening overwhelmingly with 6th and 7th gen intel CPUs (so LGA 1151)- not saying updating drivers etc doesn't help but I think there's more going on here.

i have everything up to date and i dont even have any other thing in my pc that takes so much CPU power. If game is closed it's maybe 10% but mostly 5%
As of now in idle waiting for ticket i see game takes 30% but few days ago it was 80% and in mp or in events it went 90% to 100% overall
Right now in stage 6 in game my cpu use was 40% In loading to race it went 80% after finish line it went 80-95%

- Note that other players' "[Name] has finished the race!" shows up on my screen before their cars finish, and that my "Pos." on the top left is somewhat accurate, but not reflected physically in-game. [Misaligned footage audio - rapidly saved a few clips which caused GameDVR to glitch]
UPDATE [7:30AM UTC+8, May 14]: The issue has been resolved - player positions are now properly aligned in-game. Thanks for the quick fix, GameLoft! 😄

@radiant lava I had the same problem. I was told that in the new update, if you don't have blueprints for cars that need keys, then it won't show in your garage. When you get blueprint for that car, it will show up in your garage.

Hi GL, ad issue here. While doing the Advanced Race: Shanghai this spinning happened after the ad and got stuck. This happens often to me on Windows. There is no other way to exit this screen but to exit the game. Did I just lose out on 58,000 coins because I had to X out? Please help.

Seems like all people who report CPU problems are running with Intel chips. Not saying problem is there, but possibly.

The behaviour is very strange
I disabled my sound driver from Sound options in control panel and it improved a lot, then later continued again. Today I left the sound on, but it seems after some races, the problem starts again and you have to restart
Also From the network activity/resource monitor, I notice it keeps connecting and disconnecting to random IPs

Hey guys. About input lag and high CPU usage you should contact with Customer Care. They will need your DXDiag report.
I also need a dxdiag report.
Here's how to get a dxdiag report:
Press the "Windows" + "R" key on your keyboard at the same time. The Run window should appear.
Enter "dxdiag" in the "Open:" field.
Click OK the DirectX diagnostic Tool should open and start working.
Wait for DXDiag to finish working.
Click on the "Save all information..." button.
Save the file somewhere and you can easily find it.
Open the file and copy its contents.
Insert the information in your message to us.

After almost 2 years smooth play i cannot connect to MP for 5 days. I didn't change any hardware i have the same machine and stable 10mb cable network. I think that is not question for customer care. I am pretty sure they can't help with this. Either i have one minute lag or after few minutes of loading screen i get disconnected or disqualified.

Report of having super-serious sets of input lags intervals in 3/4 of all races, including 2-3 seconds of force ghost steers, which often result into a direct wall hit & crash.
Having powerful and properly cooled components (7th gen i7 4c/8t, GTX 1080, SSD), updated drivers and a carefully mantained Windows 10 v1909 installation, this is the worst the stability has ever been in Asphalt 9.

It's... practically a game issue not matter what.
I don't really understand why this feel like a step down when it comes of stability and performance unlike the previous update.
Like before this one, the game was running pretty fine with medium graphics and 60% resolution. There isn't input lag, the game only consumed about 20-30% of CPU, which it was fine then.

There's a possible theory, in the new release, they might be sending more data from the game to the server hence:
- The network is currently under heavy load, you get connection errors more than before and ads hardly load.
- They have a game feature (might be new) which keeps trying to connect to fetch new responsive server IPs in the background when the current server IPs begins to lag (low latency). The attempt to fetch new servers could possibly lead to some kind of loop which in turn leads to high CPU usage.
Of course all this could be wrong and it could simply be a case of sacking some engineering staff or even switching server company, but network problems are one of the few things that can lead to undiscovered bugs like this.

Hope you are doing well at this difficult times but I seems to be having an issue with the ads.
It stopped working after I completed an MP race.
1st ads did work after completing a race in Special Event and the 2nd ads stopped working in MP race (strange, isn't it).
As a result, it stuck at infinite loading-screen (no ads played) so I had to close the game (and also, lose my points in MP2 ranking which is a bummer and lost of fuel, too).
Here are the detail in regards to pinned post:

- Issue why reported: 1st ads did work after completing a race in Special Event and the 2nd ads stopped working in MP race (strange, isn't it).

Most broken ads in this game is this. Loads a long time then ends in the black screen that wont get you back in the game
Restart game 4 times just to see 1 ad that will get you back in the game and need to do the process for half a hour cause of your stupid 20% reduction of 6 hours fuel

Game seems to stuck at infinite loading after clicking on 'watch ad' button.
Long story: After I completing the credit race, the 'watch ad' button showed-up and after clicking it, it stuck at infinite loading screen (no ads played) so had to close the game.
Short answer: It seems to stuck at infinite loading screen upon clicking on 'watch ad' button as a result, had to close the game and restart it.
Edit: The ads works as it is. Strange, isn't. 🤔
Probably, it's the Gameloft backend server that is having the trouble, trying to load the ads but anyway, hope it gets fixed. ❤️

The game uses much more of my CPU than in the previous update. Tried resetting the app, but without success.
Also because of that I'm getting random constant input lags. (Game thinks the button is held down, even if it's released) Decreasing the settings to low-med a bit solves this. And previously I didn't had that much of the input lag on high settings.

Game sometimes has a hard time loading up content in garage and races quick enough. It causes me to have late starts in multiplayer
Knockdowns in MP also causes lag spikes

The game seems to be optimized for Hyperthreading-enabled CPUs now - I recently upgraded from a i5-3570 to a i7-3770S. A9 executable usage stats:
HT disabled: Eats avg. 38% on the i5, avg. 35% on the i7.
HT enabled on the i7, utilization dropped to avg. 19% usage.
[Other specifications: RAM: 12GB DDR3; GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 1070 Dual; A9 and OS installed on an ATADA 480GB SSD, 1TB HDD as hi-cap storage]

For example, 30 minutes ago I had 40-45% of CPU usage before the race, got 2nd place in the race and... 75% cpu usage in menu after the race was completed. Surprise!

Jum. The game 2 days ago improved. The "Runtime Broker" process stopped inflating so much. Today the problem returned, I suppose they should investigate what is causing that process to inflate so much, in the previous version of the game that process did not consume any resources.

if event have 10 race for 20 packs as 1 race get you 2 packs as 2 conditions rewards then all the drop rate is based on the 1 pack and each times it resets for the reward. Same is in the shop when you buy single packs then the drop rate is based on the pool of rewards and resets on each buy. If you buy 10 packs then you have chance to get the drop for featured car but it's guaranteed to get 1 of the 2-4 featured cars in the multi car packs. If there is only 1 car featured packs like the M4 GTS packs then your guaranteed to get x3 bp for the M4 as 1 pack out of 10 packs and rest of the 9 packs is based on your lotto luck

I remember testing the game several months ago and got similar results.
This ain't the most CPU easy game out there.
And as such, running it on dual core at 2ghz will not cut it.

Having an ad issue in Windows platform.
Long story: I clicked on Ad Pack, received this ad and suddenly, no ad played so I clicked on 'x' button.
After that, no reward given out. Strange!
Short answer: Ad seems to be broken. I kinda prefer the other ads, to be honest (not this kind of ads, in my opinion).
Edit: You might want to test your ads before releasing to other platforms (other than Windows) cause there may be bugs that is left untouched.

If you turn off/on your Advertising ID in Windows Settings (Privacy), and then reset the game, you get different ads. The faulty ad goes away.
Close game if it's open. Toggle the first option shown off and then on again. Then reset the game:

I've been thinkering last night with A9, trying to find something to eliminate the higher than normal cpu usage (sitting at around 70-80% - a lot more than the usual 30%, which is the normal, fair usage when the bug is not present) that brings input lag together with it. Sometimes, the cpu usage bug was present at game launch, sometimes it was not, and sometimes it appeared randomly during a race. I came up with this workaround:
You need to open Task Manager (ctrl alt tab) and do the following, each time you open Asphalt 9
- Enter Details view and right click on Asphalt 9
- Right click on A9 again and select Set Affinity
- Now, we need to set free at least 1 thread, and it's better that we choose to do that for the first one; that is either CPU0, or CPU1, in the case that your CPU has hyper-threading or SMT (For example, with a quad core, the physical cores are displayed as: CPU0, CPU2, CPU4, CPU6. The rest are the virtual ones)
- If your CPU is dual core, most chances are that it is 2c/4t -> Disable CPU1
- If your CPU is dual core, but is 2c/2c and only has CPU0 and CPU1 -> Disable CPU0
- If your CPU is quad core (4c/4t, 4c/8t), you either: Disable CPU0, or disable CPU0 and CPU1
Additionally, here, if you have 4c/8t, you can also choose to disable each and every virtual core, leaving only CPU2, CPU4 and CPU6 checked -- this is what I'm using rn and it works fine - Hope for a miracle
We need to leave at least one thread free, most prefferable the first one, in order to try and give some breathing room to essential processes, like the proccess that handles keyboard inputs.

Insane process handling. There’s no prob from the last update. And also high CPU may lead to difficult steering at all and always get wreck since I/O may not detect the key press at all. Even of ultra low setting and no effects applied at all. Using AMD A4 APU on ASUS X552EP.
Even not playing, CPU is almost exceed 100% on the main menu. Even though I’m not running too much program to run this game
I follow someone’s post to workaround. In the future, try tinker the process before releasing because not everyone have technical skills (at least some) to workaround the issue.

@devout stratus Thanks for the help friend. I tried it on my laptop (4 cores), I deactivated core 0 first but it was still the same, deactivating core 0 and core 1, there was an improvement but at the time of the games the game was not so fluid 😦

the problem is back in my A9!! Since I started playing the new Koenigsegg Jesko Grand Prix the issues with steering and brakes becoming unresponsive during races returned. It’s practically impossible to play as I get unresponsive steering, brakes, and nitro during races. I am sure the unresponsiveness is also there when scrolling between the game’s menu, so I think that is not a problem only during a race. Please inform the developers. I am trying all the steps I did before to solve this, but unsuccessfully this time…

Um... side note on the "input lag" and "unresponsive controls", this happened on my desktop right after I reset my Advertising ID and Reset the game.
However, the game somehow "re-calibrated" itself later, and became [mostly] responsive (apart from occasional freezing, factor/s unknown).

@signal rover Try closing the game, logging out from Xbox Console Companion (it' s something like a "Social Hub" program for Xbox), log back in, and start the game again - this issue used to happen to me, and it helped in my case. Hope this helps for you!

but keep in mind that the method isn't 100% working. It can help, and it can improve things, but I and several other peopel from here that tried it still had the issue occuring

Yep, that doesn't matter. Their values add up. And I turn on the "metered connection" setting rarely, because it deactivates some apps' access to the internet, but as it seems, that setting doesn't affect A9 - 8GB of data through that is still much.
It's crazy. Most people have 40-50GB of traffic data per month...
If I didn't have unlimited 4G plan, I would've been done for. I left the city for a safer location to self-isolate, and ofc I couldn't bring the fiber optic internet with me 😒

Of course its good that they are fixing it, but its been 2 weeks now and not a single update if they even found whats causing issue. Some communication would be nice.
But now community provides temporary solutions to decrease problems (ads, CPU) but complete silence from actual GL IT guys.
In fact- im still forced to use temporary ad fix every single day. Thankfully usually it works. Did GL IT guys provided this solution?- No- community did.
So like i said- little more communication would be really nice. If they are having huge trouble with fixing problems then at least give guidelines what might help to make game at least playable.

ok so actually this isn't a permanent fix for cpu/input lag... my game was working fine for about 12 hours but now all of the issues have returned :/ clearly must be a corrupt file somewhere or something

About the input lag, I'd like to also report this, if this helps: Whenever the input lag attacks me, and I'm Alt-Tabbing to forcefully pause the game during the race (in events, career, solo), it keeps running for a 3-5 seconds, (till it detects if I'm using another window due to huge CPU usage) and then pauses.

Even installing Windows 10 Version 2004 (clean install method), that game still impact on CPU tho. Neither point 1 nor 2 works, there is still a delay in the keyboard and the cpu flying between 85% and 100%.
Regarding point 3, I have always played with the arrows (Up, Down, Left, Right) and I have the delay problem anyway. Please rush the solution for 100% cpu and keyboard delay. Thanks.

Are devs even going to fix server lag issue, which horribly affects on local clients? Game becomes unplayable periodically, huge lags and freezes appear, even on main menu screen when idle. I can see it via Nvidia fps counter, it jumps between values like crazy (in normal state it locked on 59)

Report sent earlier. Nothing changed. Problems with the performance and viewing of advertisements that users wrote about have not disappeared, they still occur (increase in processor load up to 80-90% for 4 cores / 3 GHz cores, loss of control over the car, friezes even on the menu).
Tips from pinned messages, about disabling one of the cores, about changing the keyboard layout - do not help.

That message can appear when the local server is having a big workload, I've seen reports of it and I have it from time to time; changing countries with a VPN will instantly get rid of it, but again, that error only lives for a few minutes.
Btw, do you still have the high CPU usage bug? My game has been fine for about 3 days, it has almost constant 35% usage during races, and up to 50% in menu.

Is it still going on? If it's an issue with the local server that your game connects to, little can be done -- vpn. But I wouldn't recommend it, who knows if it messes up with your ads or something

I did a test with VPN (just for tests, not for playing) and interesteing thing is...when You're connecting with game by VPN using different localisation than Your original, game runs fine, good, normally, excellent, without any high CPU usage etc. etc. Maybe devs should look at this issue from this side? @opaque raft @stuck quarry (sorry for mention, but this can be very important for You to fix this issue).
