yet while looking at the horrid reviews from the humans side who actually have to verify having bought and played the game, critics dont have to. and their reviews weirdly enough were all in the "omg so perfect uwu" score; if that doesnt seem sus to you idk what will
plus the magic of indie game devs is that they dont HAVE to make big buck or continuously eject games to stay relevant. if you always have to care about quantity of games the quality is gonna suffer (naughty dog suffered HARD, it's no secret). Triple A games have to continously make games, no matter if finished or not, good or not, thats the normal mainstream big buck company way of making money.
so please understand that even if your whole friendcircle believes it's GOTY worthy, most others donot and even statistics speak for it. so seeing it with this game that got massively criticized from gamers and streamers galore that it suddenly wins so many awards it just goes against all logical thought.
this is just an example of how votes can go wrong and thats ok
is this about madness that hades didnt win? no. i am mad at the injustice of a game that is statistically deemed to fail by any means (not because it's a "horrible game" but because it doesnt come up to goty standard in comparison to what animal crossing did 2020 for example)

Nobody had any issues with female protagonists, gays or trans or anything of the sort. Tlou1 the evironment drove the story while tlou2 it was the characters who drove the story instead. Had tlou2 been a totally separate IP, it would no doubt raised the bar in the industry with how we perceive people's orientation and would have gone down in history as a pioneering game in that regard, as well as being gorgeous and all its other pros but the issue is it was a poor follow up storywise from its predecessor and that I feel is whats made many harbour so much ill will towards it

It's disrespectful to accuse people of this stuff without evidence, period. Just because you didn't like something doesn't mean it isn't respectable or liked by others.

I'm ambivalent towards the game but the vitriol for it has been way too much. There's a lot of reasons something could be disliked or liked, but saying outright someone was paid off feels very.... Trumpian.

But for the most part, just be respectful, cite your sources if you're gonna make bold claims, etc.
