Last night, I did a run with the fists and by the time I hit Lernie, I had used up ALL my Death Defiances. I was at 33 hp going into Elysium. I was down to 7 hp after a few rooms and was going to quit/give up. The crazy thing is, I somehow got Dio and the restore all hp from fountain boon in the next room and was able to buy a DD from the well. Then right after that room, I managed to get Pat's gift. I ended up finishing that run and winning with 2 DDs left. I guess I learned that I should never ever give up... Also, dashing helps!
