The Spin can make you pretty vulnerable without the Quick Spin hammer, it's usually not too good

Builds usually consist of forcing the first god you see using a keepsake then forcing another god in Asphodel, and filing the god pool with nice supporting stuff from 2 other gods to fill the pool, excluding Hermes
With a full mirror and good decision making you can get specific builds very consistently
Even if they rely on Duos etc

Sturdy is damage reduction so it's a nice pick, Concentrated does something, I'm not a big fan, takes too long to ramp up, Heavy Knuckle makes your attack slower so it can be a bad pick, it depends on what kind of build you got going

Well it's good and easy to play, the base Bow is very good and at top levels it is definitely above Chiron but it takes more practice and has more of a stricter rhythm to it

huh, I think chiron is good due to the seeking part, and I got a run yesterday which had the following boons (that actually mattered, I had about 13 boons before I died to champ and minotaur) zeus boon which made special attacks spawn lightning, zues boon which made lighting strike twice 30% of the time, then zeus boon which made lightning spawn orbs that damaged enemies for 60 dmg

Well those are solid boons but not on the Bow's Attack
The bow attack is a slow(ish) hit with good base damage, and scales a lot through hammers and chaos, it's good to scale it further with a +% increase on the Attack instead of external flat damage
Flat damage can work but it's not ideal

it's the same with chaos shield, at lvl 1 it sucks, at lvl 2 it sucks, at lvl 3 it can still potentially suck, and at lvl 4 it's a degree better than trash, lvl 5 is somewhat usable

Those are keepsakes, boons are the buffs you get throughout the run, I would try to get a defensive keepsake like Skelly or Eury then maybe Coin Purse then gift all of the Olympian Gods to get their keepsakes so you can get builds going more consistently

When it comes to Styx, you should be trying to avoid damage as much as possible and steamrolling through the rooms with good damage, if you're scared of dying in Styx itself then Tooth is a safer pick because Acorn doesn't do anything for you there

You should spoiler that about the final boss, but it's a difficult fight and you have to learn the movesets and get used to them, a good thing to know is that your dash is 100% iframes, but dash-striking strips those iframes away, so when you try to dodge something or when attacks are coming your way you should strictly use your dash without trying to let out damage of your own because it makes your more vulnerable
Should try to dodge then reposition safely and then try to do damage again when enemies aren't attacking or when you have good openings somewhere

Stubborn Defiance has its use, you will get there eventually, I don’t wanna spoil it, but for now Death Defiances are simply superior

stubborn defiance can be useful if you find yourself dying in like every room you walk into lol
like if you're very new to this genre of games and keep dying in like room 2 or 3, then stubborn defiance would probably help you get along a bit better than death defiance
but as you get better at the game, death defiance is gonna be better because you'll probably be taking less hits per room and can revive multiple times for boss fights

if you're using the hestia aspect then yeah, that is one of the safest aspects in the game but it's not exactly "fun" just reloading, dashing, and shooting because it gets repetitive

Rail is great for a first clear. It's not very mechanically demanding tbh unless you want to optimize.
If you just want to get a clear, just get a Lightning Strike + Static Discharge + Tidal Dash build and you're set just holding down Attack and dashing into everything.

The tile rewards are generated before you enter the actual room, before you even finish the combat prior to it
And the keepsake tries to offer you the god whenever possible, some rooms cant give midshop so they can instead offer 2 minibosses
One of them is Athena
With an enshrouded curse you cant know so yea
That’s a very likely spot to see the keepsake god so if you miss it your odds of it getting offered again aren’t very high

Those are very high risk/reward rooms that can show up much like a chaos room, but they’re very punishing for the payout they provide and it’s easy to lose the reward they offer altogether
Not recommended for newer players. They won’t kill you, but with how strict the Failure condition is they’re mostly not a good idea
The big hitters early on are Darker Thirst (+gems) and Fated Keys (V. important synergy with rerolling mirror perks). Prioritize anything that helps meta-currency farming early on. Increased gold will make your runs stronger which may help with purchasing blood/gems in styx, but that's a bit more of a gamble run-to-run. Basically anything and everything that will bolster your darkness/gem intake is a good idea to prioritize

Always take minibosses first, they are a bit tanky but they’re predictable and quick so the rooms wont last long, there are curing pools in every room, use them if you get poisoned, aside from that you just have to work on your weapon fundamentals and mechanics, practice gets you there, learning synergies and builds also helps, Styx is a heavy dps check, you can ask here or in #h1-builds-and-combat to learn more about specific aspects and whatnot

Experienced players usually keep the Temple of Styx in mind when making decisions for their builds.
Wall-slam damage scales with the biome, and Satyr tunnels are very narrow, so therefore Tidal Dash or Flood Dot with a decent tier 2 boon from him (ideally Breaking Wave) are very, very strong in that region.

And those choices are often not obvious like you might not get why they take this boon and that boon and their keepsake choices etc
This is just mostly for the styx thing, Achilles meta involves Hunting Blades for example, yet you wont be seeing speedrunners casting aggressively in Styx unless they are in peak desperate mode
The way speedrunners deal with rooms and optimize their damage is very efficient tho, you can try to imitate their movement, but if you plan on getting into speedrunning, I do recommend watching the speedrunning basics video first, and maybe joining the speedrunning Discord for more tips from the best players out there

Nemesis sword any of the hard hitters work for your attack/special. Aim for something like ||demeter||/artemis/aphro on your attacks
Chiron you want to go for the same. Aphro/||Demeter|| is an insane combination but I just like a lot of crits on the special. Dio sounds good on paper but for me the damage goes too slow.
Chaos shield you just want Ares Special and try to boost it as much as possible, it's probably the easiest build to win with.

I keep dying to the minotaur and the dude with the shield, any tips?

focus down the minotaur, he's harder to deal with than theseus but also, when you dont want to have to deal with the god call during theseus' second phase and the minotaur at the same time
use pillars for cover from the spear while dealing with the minotaur

To deal with theseus shield you can bait the spear throw then when he recovers it you can hit his back or bait the spin, dash behind him for same results

for dealing with theseus after the minotaur, once he throws his spear you can stab him in the back when he walks away
once his second phase starts, he stands still while summoning his god call thingy so that's an opportunity to slap him if you want

I find so much more damage from calls like zeus, poseidon or dionysus, I only pick up artemis if I need it for a different boon and it's the only thing that fits the requirements that I'm willing to pick up

Well there isn’t really a best aspect unless you are doing it competitively from my understanding. Just whichever you like most. For instance the secret aspect on the sword is overall very slow but I absolutely love it. And I rarely ever us other aspects.

Every aspect is viable and don't be surprised if your personal preference contradicts what's generally considered best for competitive play. Some of the weapons don't really shine until they're maxed out or close to it, though.

one of your strike or flourish is aphrodite, the other is artemis
so that you can get the artemis + aphrodite duo boon for +150% crit damage versus weakened

Depends on the build, but in general Athena Artemis and Poseidon are the best
