theseus and asterius. well practice mostly. focus first on asterius as theseus gets annoying under half health. theseus mainly just throws spears at you if you stay away. pay attention to the sound cue and the target on you that turns red when he's about to throw. asterius is rather slow and doesnt change directions well. dash behind him when he attacks and make sure to not overextend by attacking him for too long. when he does his bull charge at you, find a pillar and dash through it when he's close.

||As long as the pact says the heat bar is filled that heat works for rewards. assuming you havent cleared a while run with fists at a heat above 0 then 1 will work but just wont give you rewards for defeating bosses you already have at a higher heat||.

It took me 12 attempts with around 25-30 to do ten clears.
Learning how to get through Styx in my opinion is more important than learning how to beat the final boss. You can lose a ton of health and some D/D if you don't learn how to kill things quickly there.

Styx can be very easy or very hard depending on your weapon and build. Complete your build in Elysium
If you still trying to get your first run win, don’t take complicated builds that takes a lot of setup to do well (Sea Storm/Splitting Bolt for example), just take simple ones like Merciful End
Builds like ME will just easily plow through Styx, Divine Dash is… divine on Styx

Divine dash can act as a bit of a crutch though.
If you rely on it too much, you don't learn the patterns of the enemies or bosses as well, and when you don't have it it can make a run feel impossible for those still learning.

Well. I’m done. Deleted the game tonight. Can’t deal with the frustration any longer. Just have to vent, because I’ve owned the game for almost a year and even after 150+ runs I still can’t beat dear old dad and even better my last run just took six DDs and I couldn’t even beat Theseus and the Bull despite using greater call twice and Battie. Despite this, the most frustrating part isn’t the dying and losing all the time and going back to the start. It’s the lack of story progression. Even after so many runs I won’t be able to talk to any one in any meaningful way. Everyone has all the nectar and ambrosia they need and whenever I do get to talk to them they mention how they should talk to the other person. But they never do. Ive even resorted to looking up guides, and it mentions things that aren’t even options. Like the release for Orpheus. Can’t get it because I can’t talk to Nyx. Apparently you should be able to max out the conversations after 85 runs, but I’m at 150 and still the conversations are don’t stick around, get moving. I’m bored. Even the music isn’t worth going back for. It’s ultimately boring to do the same thing over and over again with no story and nothing else to do.

This type of game isn’t for everyone I guess, it’s how the genre is, it does get repetitive but it takes a lot of time to run through all the dialogue etc, and still there is so many things to try, if you don’t like how it is then just move on, or if you wanna learn more about the game you can always ask for advice in the proper channels

Godmode gives you dmg reduction, when you turn it on it starts at 20% dmg reduction and furthermore, whenever you die and return to the House of Hades it increases by 2%, so the more you die the less your enemies will deal in terms of dmg, caps out at 80%, it is indeed very helpful

Lucky Tooth is great in Elysium if you've lost all your DDs and just hope to find some Kisses of Styx.
Acorn is better for the boss fights in biomes 3 and 4, usually.

Dark Foresight will help you get more consistent wins, and you'll still find plenty of Darkness etc. anyway.
So there's an argument both ways. You'll just have to trust your own judgment, I'd say.

I'd say if you want to do specifically a Cast build, then Infernal Soul is gonna be the easier one to use.

That's probably most new players... and a lot of more experienced players lol.
Outside of Cast builds, personal preference and comfort probably matters the most. Some newer players like to weave in their Casts more, so they would probably prefer Infernal Soul for that. Others just want their Cast to be ready when they need it without the headache of having to pick them up and keeping track of where they dropped, so Stygian Soul would be better.
When I coach new players that stream on Twitch, sometimes I'll have to step in like this thing that you're doing is killing you, you need to stop doing that. But for the most part I find that leaning into what they're already doing and finding builds that complement that brings them the most success.

If you're not really using your Cast, then... I'd probably say Stygian Soul is the better pick. It removes Lightning Rod from the boon pool of Lady Artemis and Lord Zeus (because that requires Infernal Soul), and it makes Lord Hermes's Cast-focused pool smaller by one. So it just removes options that you're not really using anyway, which means you have a slightly better chance of getting boons that you actually want.

I don't think Exagryph will be difficult at all, quite the opposite.
Start with Lightning Strike, then get Tidal Dash and Static Discharge and pom those two boons.
With Tidal Dash poms being priority.
Also a good Call because the weapon builds god gauge so fast.
The bow will take some practice for Dash-Strike Power Shots, probably.
But you also might find that it unexpectedly clicks with you right away.

Virtually every weapon in the game can be played aggressively once you learn enemy patterns, it's just a matter of comfort and how easily the aspect clicks for you.

what makes the dash so good for rail?
Tidal Dash has very high base damage and amazing pom scaling. On Stygius and Malphon, it can often knock enemies out of your range, though. But that doesn't happen on Exagryph because your Attack has so much range.
So you get all of the benefits with no drawback.

Practice your Dash-Strike Power Shots. Find a rhythm for it.
Dash > Dash > pew > Dash > Dash > pew.
Heartbreak Strike on Attack, then look for Chaos Gates to get Lunge and Strike boons.
Hunter Dash, Tidal Dash, and Divine Dash are all great.
And try to get Zeus' Aid to get Smoldering Air.
Rare+ Greatest Reflex, Hyper Sprint, common Greatest Reflex, Second Wind (if you have Smoldering Air), Greater Evasion, or Greater Haste from Lord Hermes's first boon, in that order.
And Rush Delivery from his second or third if you already have Hyper Sprint, Second Wind, or Greater Haste. Otherwise just look for the same boons again.
