kill the bull first, learn attack patterns, use the pillars to avoid taking damage, make sure bull is dead before you get theseus to his second phase, when you see a pink crosshair on you that means that theseus is gonna throw his spear at you, after he throws his spear he will turn around which means you can attack him, when he is in his second phase you should spend more time dodging the things he summons

a personal tip for hydra, id say treat it like a dark souls boss, survive the two times the heads get summoned, and you're basically free to finish it off by hitting it while it's down

the main issue i get when fighting hydra is losing health to the lava, so try to play around the strengths of your weapon to beat the heads

if you are getting overwhelmed, my tip would be to try and take each head individually, focusing on avoiding the attacks of that head, and then moving on

dashing has invulnerability frames, so you can dash through projectiles, but dash strikes(dash + attack combo) don't make you invulnerable, so when dodging, try to focus on only dodging, not also attacking

Hmmm. The pillars in the fight show you how far the main head can go. So just stay out of range, wait for a slam or whatever, then go in to do damage when it's recovering from a whiff. It's so predictable and easy to avoid, you shouldn't be taking damage during the phases where it's only one head.

The reason I talked about the single head phases first is that if you can do those cleanly, you'll have more HP for the other phases.

As for those, remember that the heads rotate their options and won't do the same attack twice, and try to learn what each type of head does.

Make sure you empty-dash through the purple waves. You don't have i-frames if you press attack or something during the dash.

If you see a white/blue head do a head slam, it's safe to go in after it whiffed. It's not gonna do another head slam for awhile. But it will do one bite after it recovered. After the bite, get a couple hits in and then just back off/move on to another head, so you don't have to deal with another head slam.

Melee head is usually the one that gives people the most trouble.

If you see wavemaker heads, kill those first, so you don't have to deal with their waves while fighting the other heads.

If you circle them when approaching and wait for them to finish their waves before going in, they shouldn't give you too much trouble. Just again be mindful of the bite.

Getting a stronger build can help a lot with taking the Hydra heads down much faster, so see what you can do about that. I wrote a Newbie Build Guide that's pinned in this channel that should give you a solid basis for all the base weapons to get some decent DPS.

Hidden Fists are generally considered the worst aspect in the game by top players. But tbf that's assuming optimal playstyle, which wouldn't really apply to you yet. All the aspects are perfectly viable, anyway.

Hidden shield and bow are two of the very best aspects in the game.

Hidden sword allows you to do a lot of mistakes. It lacks the DPS to be top tier, but it's great for getting the clear.

Don't know if it's easier than hidden shield or bow for new players, not something I can gauge myself. But it's up there as one of the best for sure.

You start with a lot of HP, damage reduction, slow down enemies, disable most traps, can walk on magma... like I said, it lets you do a lot of mistakes and get away with it.

There's also the fact that.. if I walked you through a run with certain aspects, you'd absolutely slaughter the final boss. But if you're on your own, you might do better with other aspects because you don't know the builds and stuff. So it's difficult to say what's easiest.

I've genuinely no idea how new players tend to fare with the hidden shield, but I know what top players can do with it.

But it's a fun aspect, either way.

Im having a bit of a weird issue. ||I cant seem to make it past Meg most of the time, unless i get super lucky with my boons, but when i do i can make it to Theseus no problem. I die in like 80% of my runs to Meg and so far ive gotten Theseus's health down to like 10% after killing the Minotaur first in that fight. With Meg i most of the time dont even know what i keep dying to.||

As has already been mentioned, you can attack from behind, and you can also bait/wait for an attack. After attacking, he doesn't block for a short window. He will also walk away from you after an attack, opening himself up to attack.

Blue laurel rewards can be Nectar. It's just RNG. If you die in the first biome, the odds of seeing any are lower, of course.

Just simply because you see fewer exits.

Well, take it slowly next time and figure out which moves exactly you're getting hit by.

You get i-frames if you do an empty dash, so use that to your advantage and time your dashes right.

I've been doing good with all the weapons so far excluding the shield and gloves, but I always get stuck at the third layer where it feels like I'm doing less damage than normal, I don't know any synergies or what the best buffs are so can anyone tell me what the best boons are for the bow and rail?

For bow you really want to increase your main attack damage, with aphrodite or artemis or similar gods

On rail you really want flat damage on your main attack, stuff like Zeus and Dio, and damage increase on your special, like aphro and artemis

Like if you have more hearts with a god they'll show up more often than others
