Learn to predict what she's gonna do based on her animations

If you're close to her, she'll probably do the whip around attack, and if she's walking towards you and then gets in a power stance, she'll probably dash towards you

More generally, you wanna be picking up lots of darkness and getting stronger using mirror

Get death defiances, get extra dashes, and it'll make the fight a lot easier

Take a run and don’t worry about doing any damage to Meg. Just watch what she does and dodge for a bit, then do some dmg so she has another phase and watch what she does and dodge it. Basically stop worrying about doing damage and learn the patterns

meg has 4 attacks, the dash, the spin, the projectiles, and the call circles, each of which being decently telegraphed and with a good amount of cooldown after them where she's open to being attacked

• dash to the side of her dash, she'll home onto where you were
• don't be next to her when she does the spin
• get away and weave between the projectiles or just deflect them if you have Athena deflection stuff
• don't stand where the circles are, you can generally just dash back and forth between two spots and rack up damage on meg and you won't get hit

The big lazer crystal miniboss is mostly difficult because you don't have many boons by then... if somehow you have high damage then the whole thing basically melts

Maybe learn to identify miniboss rooms so you can avoid them depending on your build

A skull with a red dot next to it indicates a miniboss

Big Laser Stone is a relatively simple matter of "don't get lasered". Also you only need to get the big guy, although get the small ones too.

Don’t worry!!! You shouldn’t feel pressured to try and beat the game as fast as possible. When I first played, I went on runs where all I focused on was collecting darkness and keys to permanently get stronger.

A more detailed explanation is that aside from poison (which has a readily available cure) most of the damage in the game comes in larger chunks vs small rapid hits. So that means tooth/acorn > Patroclus sword in 99% of cases

Mm, patroclus keepsake can be strong in certain contexts but generally you get hit once really hard

I think every keepsake has its place and it's playstyle. Spearpoint is great for getting to the boss as it works everywhere, and in some contexts can do great work against repeat-attack enemies or swarms of low-damage high-volume things like ||butterballs, dracons and archers and even rapid-fire and occasionally wave-blast hydra||. Acorn only works on the bosses.

Sometimes it can help using the weapon with bonus darkness if you aren’t clearing full runs anyway. Can boost mirror traits to help get your clear with your preferred weapon. 🙂 That and boosting relationship x1 heart with npcs will reward you their gifts which can help customize your run a bit (fishing for specific boons, an extra life etc)

If you take a ton of damage on your last hit you’ll revive with 50 regardless. I find the collar useful for when I’m a bit behind on gray hearts, but when you get to the end I’d say having about 200 heart points is best

Perhaps your issue with this is that it’s RNG based. You don’t just do X and Y and Z happens. The dialogue still has to trigger and that’s random

As a suggestion, I tend to like focusing on Asterius and ignoring Theseus for the first half of that fight

Once Asterius goes down Theseus isn't too bad

Though beware of Theseus sniping you with the spear

yeah, this is what I usually do

I make it out of asterius with a fair amount of health but then i use everything for thesus

reached ||hades|| for the third time, 300 health but zero death defiance

hopefully i beat him this time

smh i died again

||Hades|| is a rough one, I've only beaten him 3 times myself but even on my best run I had to use a death defy (though if I hadn't played a little carelessly right at the end I might not have)

building for the bow? the arrow hits hard so make it hit harder, with artemis or aphro

the bow's weakness is crowds, so you can take boons and hammers for your special to make it less weak on that front

but bosses usually don't get crowded so that's the appeal of bow

and a chaos boon for +37% damage

If you pay enough attention, the deflect dash can deflect the spear when timed right

Elysium is really hard in general tbh, so it'll just be up to learning the area

the first time I entered elysium I got lucky & made it all the way to heroes

it took a few runs to replicate that again..
