Like if my greater call charges mid battle I hold it until the boss becomes invulnerable then fire it after they exit. This is something I especially do with Aphrodite

i feel like the game needs something like, the first time you collect a boon it explicitly lays out, "this is a boon, you can only have 1 in the attack/special/dash/cast/call slots, they go away at the end of your run" and the first time you collect a pom it explicitly says "this is a pom, it increases the level of 1 of your boons"

🤷 I figure opinions like that change pretty rapidly; also there's a distinction between "fun to play with" and "good for early wins" and "good for speedruns." But I'm also on Switch so if it was nerfed in the latest patch, I don't know about it yet 🙂

ever since I beat Hades once I've beat him every time but on my way to get the 8th consecutive win (playing aspect of achilles spear, heat 2) I just got no good boons or anything with real synergy

did like no damage and died during his second health bar while streaming to a friend, was v embarrassed

but at the same time like just could not get any semblance of a build

you can only have 4 gods + hermes, so make sure to dodge god boons you don't want

@tender roost @naive monolith Deflect doesn't do anything for any lasers in the game. Holy Shield will make you very briefly invincible after a hit, but that's separate from the Deflect effect. It's just unique to Holy Shield.

||I'm on switch. almost all the good range options are away from the dodge button which the game has been conditioning me as a don't get hit option. it doesn't help that I get some minor janky input with the stick which makes targeting hanky. I tend to get up in the enemy faces and use dodge a lot to deal dmg with dash and attack. my main dps for that run was ares + water cast duo boon for my casts with increased dmg for each instance of doom. I was spinny in place shield, I forget the aspect name. my range was either throwing it out and having it slowly retract or using it as a pseudo trap and have him walk into it/hit it back 4o me ||

So the entire house of hades counts as one room, until you go into the administrative chambers, zag's bedroom, skelly's weapon testing room

Hello. I havent got hades yet and im a bit conflicted. The game intrigues me however I havent touched a rougelike before. I've seen things like ror2 or the binding of Isaac and because im more of an rpg guy, the idea of them seemed kinda repelling. So yea, would you advise a complete roguelike noob to get hades?

I guess it depends on what you consider repetitive, sure you have to do runs over and over again but so much within those runs is randomised that no two runs ever feel the same to me

I'd say it's bound to get repetitive, but you can make it less so by trying out different weapons, builds, amping up difficulty, etc.

athena attack zeus cast and artemis on dash for serrated point is a very good build

#

if you get zeus cast early you can instantly activate achilles bonus damage when entering a room and shoot the cast to just instantly clear the room in tartarus and small rooms in asphodel
