So guys I started the game 2 days ago and I’ve been using the spear weapon so the build i shoot for Is the diosnyus attack with Artemis’s extra damage to dash attack with the Daedalus hammer upgrade which adds 2 extra slashes to my dash attack I’ve made it so far to the final encounter for elysium are there any things i should do to make my build better

the rail is pretty easy to play, just start with zeus keepsake and pick thunder strike, the rest can be whatever, though artemis or aphrodite on special is great too
as for the bow you really need to learn to dash strike, it makes the powershots charge instantly, doubling your damage and giving you a lot more mobility
sword and spear are bad without aspects

I'm struggling with Hades, made it to him 4 or 5 times in s row but don't seem to have enough damage to best him before he eventually gets me. Nemesis sword with aphro attack, Dio special, Artemis call and Athena dash, aim for heart rend duo and Artemis crit bonuses. Any advice?

Is it possible to cap everything available before managing to escape Hades at least once? Because I'm already at 76% God Mode, people keep telling me it only goes up to 80%, and honestly, it feels like it's doing nothing for my survivability, though the repeated deaths are great for my mirror and stuff.

yeah you can max your mirror if you want before your first clear

and yes god mode goes up to 80%, +2% per death

the only thing you can't realistically max out are aspects because that's a boat load of titan blood you have to buy from styx and half the time it's a diamond

but like you could probably max out like 1 non zag aspect, 2 if you're ambitious

if you still feel like 76% isn't doing anything for your survivability, that prob means you need to learn the timings on enemies better to avoid getting hit and use your dash accordingly

god mode allows leniency, not face tanking lmao

80% god mode literally means you’re taking 1 damage for every 5 damage you would have taken, it should feel like something

for builds in general, attacks with low base damage like the bow special benifit more from flat damage boons like from zeus, dio, ares, attacks that do high base damage benifit from % damage like aphro

crit is multiplicative most other % sources are additive

athena dash is good but far form nessiary, dont think that you need it every run

Generally, depends on which one you like. Hades is balanced enough that for 95% of players, any weapon can do well as long as they like it

The shield is a common pick for it’s safety and good aspect investment (needing little upgrades)

But it really, REALLY depends on what resonates with you

Be prepared to get humbled on how long that will take you but if you want the EASIEST weapon to clear with then probably just go for shield. Lets you block pretty much anything in the game and makes 90% of the game a joke. Just doesn't do much damage without a good build

Just sit in a corner and hold bull rush to block everything until you see an opening and spam dash attack and special on enemies

easier said then done but solid idea nonetheless

just get divine dash with greater reflex on the mirror and see if you can get hyper sprint or more dashes from hermy man then spam dash and do attack

delfects on attacks and specials are really good as well if you just wanna take less damage (depending on whether you want to sacrifice some damage and also depending on the range and speed of weapon)

hello guys, im a new player and i just beat hades for the first time yesterday, but now i keep dying (a lot), and sometimes i cant even pass through asterius and teseu, i have almost full hab from the mirror, what do i need to focus now? diamond? upgrade the underworld (with the gems), how does the heat works? should i start with 1 heat, or more?

You’ll have to start adding heat if you want to upgrade your weapons more. If you haven’t already you should make sure to unlock every weapon so you can start using Titans Blood to upgrade the different aspects for each weapon, there’s 3 aspects and a hidden aspect for each

Every time you beat the game at 1 higher heat with a weapon the rewards will reset for each region for that weapon

The gems and such will come with time. Just play the game as normal and the meta progression will start rolling in

Theseus and Asterius it can be a bit tricky trying to fight them both at the same time. Usually best to try and split Asterius away from Theseus on the edge of the map so that you can hide behind pillars if Theseus does his spear throw

Asterius can’t hit behind him so just dodge through him and don’t stand too close or the backswing on his axe will hit you

Even on his jump slam he can only hit in front and to the sides

So let him jump over you and miss

It’s not too bad but if you’re really struggling, it’s worth noting that like the Piercing Wave(sword), Breaching Cross(fists) and Charged Shot (shield) hammers pierce through shields if you use those weapons, and are just good options. Piercing Fire (rail) also does this, but rail has a load of better hammer options to take, and Piercing Volley(bow) applies to bow special so you can lowkey just write it off

You need to have it awakened before you can awaken any of the other weapons

The non-spear weapons are pretty rinse repeat, you need 5 titans blood invested in that weapon, do runs with the weapon until the weapons relevant npc acknowledges your usage of the weapon, and then you can get the awakening phrase from them with any weapon

Fists is pretty notoriously bad since they specifically need the asterius miniboss room so you’re already most of the way through a run by the time you get your shot, and half the time it’s the butterfly ball

Hermes is like a cross between the regular gods, chaos and hammers

Like chaos, he has no core boons / no call / no pommables and he has worsened rarity odds

Like regular olympians you can sell his boons and he has legendaries, and counts for family favourites

and like hammers, you can only pick up 2 boons from him in a run (outside of a 50% chance in the 4th area shop for a 3rd boon from him)

I suggest using the Ares keepsake, then switching to Athena's in Asphodel so you can get their duo on fists. I like to use Ares's attack and Athena's dash, and dash attack through enemies.

You could do supersoaker on one of the base rails I suppose? throw zeus on a different core and get sea storm going with poseidon for your strike

like the pos strike really sucks but sea storm makes it pretty decent

the big ticket knockback boons are breaking wave for big chunks of damage on wall slams and razor shoals

zeus strike and artemis special is a very meta rail build, and you just take the special hammers you can hit, clockets is obviously your best outcome but triple rockets is also decent

and even just hitting one of the special hammers is good enough

Anyway the day after I tried, got it to elysium ELYSIUM (without meeting the other two sisters brw) beat the mino guy, got all the way to meeting thanatos (and it was my first time in elysium mind ypu) where he summoned monsters and helped me defeat them (he killed 18 i killed NONE idk how) I died. Right? Tried a few more times, got to elysium twice more, didn't meet him again but I met the other two sisters. Now I'm trying the shield and feel more capable than I did before, to be honest. I got through Meg without losing any health, which is new for me. Thank you SO much for your advice..youre a lifesaver!

Play a safer weapon/aspect I guess? Generally anything ranged should be pretty fine if you’re just trying to knock it out (I wouldn’t recommend chiron just due to how unsafe the special is tbh) but like any other bow, the rails, the shield, even like achilles spear

If you’re running Olympian Favour over Dark Foresight on the mirror, you’re going to want to switch over to it and you’ll definitely have like a 50 max hp difference from the extra 7 gold laurels over the run

It’s also just stronger in like 100/100 cases so like you’d want to run Dark Foresight anyways

High Confidence is really more of a speedrun pick than pushing heat ever

also i was caught off guard i didnt know the same levels got harder over time 😭 I keep dying to the hydra now because before it did not have four tinier ones, and now it spawns bone-rakers. (now like...a whole swarm of them). Beating them with the shield is efficient but i eventually get swarmed and run out of death defiances (i have 2). The tinier hydras, now dont just spit out uhhhh styx balls? (im not great with my terminology) two of them spawn bone rakers, two of them do those little rift things at me. I was flabbergasted (I died from shock I swear i wasnt unskilled definetely). Im gonna try and upgrade the shield as much as i can tho!!

So if you don’t have any boons taking priority slots, it’s usually more like a 31% chance to hit at least one duo/legendary on a given boon if any are open and all 3 options are rolled instead of just forced to be a priority option

It’s usually a bit worse to open multiple duos at the same time if you really care about 1 main one, because they can take duo/legendary slots that get rolled over the one you want

Like the aphrodite dio (Low Tolerance) one is easily stronger than artemis dio (splitting headache) so usually it’s better to just open Low Tolerance and then open Splitting Headache after you find it if possible

Take them if you see them to better your odds of finding the other one

You should probably still be snapping off a ton of dash-strikes for your quicker dps so you’re rooted for less time but those are who are going to work well for special

and the spears that can get it thrive off Flurry Jab since it immediately performs a standing strike after your dash-strike so you essentially double your dash-strike dps

This is a general play thing but you should probably be dashing and dash-striking more than you are already. Regular dashes have invincibility frames which let you avoid damage, and dash-strikes offer your fastest method of dealing damage (and damage per second at that) on pretty much, even though you do lose the iframes as soon as you start the dash-strike

Not quite, if youv already gotten the hidden aspect on it but not opened it then you just need to open it, if you havent yet you need to open of all the weapons atleast 1 second aspect and get a sertain message from achillis, if you have gotten that message you can go to the spear and achieve the hidden aspect of it

You can use ares for a merciful end build on any of the spear aspects, achilles has better things to be doing but the other 2 regular spear aspects can easily do that as their like best options

Artemis strike -> ares cast -> hit their duo which lets the ares casts home on enemies

achilles spear works really well for both parts of the build since the +150% to strike makes the crit chance for artemis work really well and then +150% to cast makes the casts do a ton more damage

Which is really nice early in the run for being able to make a build happen

Darkness is your main resource for getting stronger, early on it's good to pick rooms with it.

Unlocking new weapons let's you take advantage of the darkness bonus more often and is more fun since you get to try out everything!

Finally, dont be afraid to die! Supergiant is genius in that they roll out more story and characters with each death, so even dieing is rewarding!

It took me a long time to see the final boss, but boy was the reveal worth it!

I think I fought him another 10 times before I finally beat him and saw the current ending.

Also, kudos to Supergiant for recording final boss dialogue that only us in the early access will get to see!

There's a couple of other ways too like ||buying it at the styx shop if offered and exchanging 15 keys for one at the house broker when that deal is a thing|| but the most efficient way imo is the method zoom mentioned

@rustic oracle one tip I have for the last boss as someone who's only recently been getting clears is to really focus on not getting hit. I feel like I can often just kind of DPS rush the other bosses and occasionally avoid an attack but with the final boss I try to wait for a window to attack without getting greedy/punished.

More specific tips: || the spear range is huge and he lunges forward so the white telegraph isn't exactly what you need to avoid - I always try to get at least one extra dash if I can|| || though he hits hard, if you focus on just dodging it's relatively easy to avoid attacks but the extra mobs and exploding skulls complicate things which is why I try to prioritize them|| ||you can play ring around the rosy with him to keep him at bay/make him miss||
