Some NPCs have a special reward if you max out their hearts. So after giving each person one nectar you can try and max them out

The one with locks on their hearts or like an arrow separating it into 2 sets of hearts are the ones with special rewards

I beat the game and I am trying to unlock aspects. I bumped my ||heat up to 3|| and the main character said theres no reason to do that. I'm reading through the wiki and I can't make sense of heat, is it not supposed to increase the reward?

I have the sword and the spear and the shield at the moment and I want to spear aspects but its very confusing what Im supposed to be doing

I tried avoiding the wiki but at this point im just being called stupid for not getting it and im getting confused and frustrated.

it scales really well with rarity and poms

it can make your giga-cutter an absolute nuke

That fight's a gigantic roadblock for players who are inexperienced or go into it with bad builds, much more severely so than the bosses of the previous two biomes.

It helps a lot to plan your build out with the help of god keepsakes and to have a lot of investment into the Mirror. Later on (likely not until you have a few wins under your belt though) there's another mechanic you can unlock that can be a massive help too.

Hi, does anyone know how Hermes' rush delivery boon work? It says I get bonus damage based on bonus move speed; I have 16.2% bonus speed from the plume keepsake, and the boon gives me 50% damage, how does the calculation work?

Does this mean I get half of the bonus speed damage (i.e 8.1% damage up?)

Half bonus speed yes

rush delivery is a pretty well known boon because of how cracked it is with hyper sprint doubling your movespeed

and movespeed boosts being multiplicative so an ichor or two from the wells can really skyrocket your damage past that too

(Π(movespeed boosts) -1) * (0.5-1.25 based on rd rarity)

and that’s the global additive +% damage bonus you get

If you’re in elysium or styx and just want damage and not defense

The Bone Hourglass from Charon gives +8 encounters to well items

Taking it into elysium means you can buy buffs in the area inbetween biomes, buy buffs and more than half the time you’ll two-sack and be able to take all your buffs to the final boss fight

Currently Hades on SteamDeck is the way to go for handheld Hades, but I don’t own one and I don’t see why I should have to buy one just to be able to play Hades at the fullest quality that my device I do own can handle

But yea all backwards compatible games run inherently “better” on Switch 2 due to the increased horsepower.
Horsepower can only do so much when you set hard limits on what the game can output though.

Hard limits that “should” be easily lifted with a simple patch

Animal Well is the best example. Game made by 1 dude has a free Switch 2 update. It automatically downloads too.

It’s lowkey lightning strike from zeus, jolted as a secondary from zeus, any +% special works but artemis is usually ideal (particularly due to support fire/ hunters mark / pressure points) and otherwise aphro special has the highest numbers. Tidal dash really really pops off

the main hammers you care about are rocket bomb / cluster bomb / triple bomb

For builds you usually just start with the main god

So here zeus

then second most important god

Here it’d be pos if you don’t have him by asphodel, otherwise arte or aphro if your special is still open

then elysium is either a defensive keepsake like acorn or collar or tooth, or utility like purse for money or bone hourglass for well item duration

then final area is usually just defensive keepsakes (mainly acorn) or if you’re confident and care more about your damage and speed, keeping bone hourglass on

So greatest reflex is really helpful for more damage and just more mobility at once

Chaos boons come in two parts

The boon and the curse attached tonit

these are randomly thrown together for options

there’s a curse that’ll affect you for like 3-4 rooms and then after that you get the effect of the boon for the rest of the run

and you can get a ton of different buffs like strike damage, dash-strike damage, special damage, extra damage based on which presence you’re using on the mirror, extra cast damage, extra cast stones, extra hp, extra darkness and gemstones, extra rarity boosts (with a hidden +10% epic and +10% duo/legendary chance), extra obols

Quadruple the rng btw since all the boons have a range of values they can offer and higher rarities multiply the upper and lower bound by 1.5x and 2.0x respectively

the base damage output is technically the same since dash-strikes take 2/3’s as much time to charge and deal 2/3’s as much damage so it’s technically the same base damage output but

you’re safer and more mobile

and you can benefit from dash-strike bonuses

particularly from chaos

and since you’re being safer and firing quicker you won’t be interupted by enemy attacks nearly as often

It’s just a plethora of reasons why it ends up working way better

Hello people, I just want honest opinion how bad I suck at this game. I'm not into roguelikes (I think this the first roguelike I played for more than ten minutes) and I'm still stuck on boss(sry) at my 55 run. I can't win against him. I don't want to use godmode or search for builds but I'm getting frustrated! Internet says the average to complete it is like 20-30 runs

The previous stage boss' isn't that hard after knowing the attacks, but the final I'm still confused as sometimes I feel there's more spamming than other occasions? Last time I got hit with something that looked like the classic poison effect (I'm more a rpg kinda person) but couldn't tell where that came from. Two hits from that and I died lol

I'm new to the game. I also never played any action roguelite before, wasn't my cup of tea until I discovered Hades. So I lack the skills.

I'm into my early thirties - not my age, I'm older, but the number of tries.

From the little experience I have, it seems that the Spear and Rail are the two weapons I'm most comfortable with. Unfortunately (or not), I've spent all of my blood on the Rail.

I got to Hades once with the Rail but it was an epic failure. I got to him again with the Spear (zero upgrades) and got complacent when he was almost dead, only to realize rhe catastrophe of him recharging to full HP.

So far Spear with Doom and Rail with Hangover works the best for me.

Last run with Spear was supposed to be farming Keepsakes levels but then I almost killed Hades.

Just wondering:

1. What is generally considered the best newbie weapon

2. If the Spear seems to be working the best for me, how can I now upgrade it, I'm not sure I can fsrm any blood with Bow or Fists for that matter, those are too complicated for me so far.

3. Are there any specifics / guides for a newbie like me without spoilers

4. What's a good way to switch keepsakes, like start with upgraded chaos first Tartarus and Asphodeus, then switch to something else?

Hey, I’m new to Hades but not to roguelikes or Soulslike. I stayed away from Hades for a while because it looked a bit overwhelming, but I’m giving it another shot now. Can anyone share the current meta tier list for gods, duo boons, weapons, and keepsakes? Also, does turning on God Mode make me a coward? I just want to beat the game once and get a feel for the gameplay first .

There isn't quite a tier list for gods and duo boons that works for all weps. The specific weapon you're using determines what gods are good and bad. Same goes for keepsakes. If you have an eye for a specific weapon someone here can give you some guidance. However ill put this here since it's useful regardless and helps better your choices. Gods are divided into two main categories, there are gods that boost the base dmg of a specific move (attack or special) while giving it some effect - those are: Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite, Poseidon. You want to put these gods on moves that are slower and deal more base dmg since boosting them further is worthwhile so you'll do bigger chunks of dmg. The other type are gods that give a flat dmg boost without enhancing the base dmg of the moves - these are: Zeus, Ares, Dionysus. You want to use these on moves that can be used rapidly but have low base dmg, it's not worth highering the base dmg but it's worth getting an effect and applying it over and over to boost your dmg. That's the general idea.
When it comes to god mode it's completely up to you, it also does not make you win instantly, it just damage reduction that ramps up after every death. It's a singleplayer game, play at your own pace, you can turn it off later if you feel like it. If something is unclear you can always ask and someone will help out.

Flat damage tends to work better on quicker strikes, so like zeus / dionysus / ares

so like rail / fists / spear

zeus and dionysus both pair well with aphrodite for their duos, where zeus x aphro gets you smouldering air to charge minicalls every 5 seconds, which works really well with zeus or dionysus call for damage, or athena/ pos for defense

and dio x aphro (Low Tolerance) lets you stack more hangover stacks

Ares works really well with Athena since Ares strike + Athena special(needed for their duo) + Divine Dash (to abuse their duo)

lets you dashstrike into enemies and immediately inflict doom and then deflect to drop the doom

For slower heavier hitting weapons, +% is your friend

chaos is your friend

aphro has the highest +% strike and special

Works just as well with zeus for smouldering air as fast attacking builds

So you mean boon synergies are based more on whether a weapon’s fast or slow — not really on whether it’s a primary or secondary attack?

Aphro is going to be more consistent and means you won’t have to ever touch your special, but arte strike can scale harder.
Your hammers are going to look like
Twin Shot >= Triple Shot > Flurry Shot >= Point Blank Shot = Perfect Shot >= Explosive Shot (Explosive Shot requires a bit more finesse and skill to use)

Grab all the chaos strike and dash-strike damage additive you can

When you’re starting out, you’re ooga booga reckless, then you learn to be patient and waiting, then you devolve back to going unrelenting offense

utilizing the pillar rock fall things is harder than the wall slams because its limited but that itself is quite fair :3
