also remember that once you get 4 different gods in one run (excluding hermes) no other god will show up

having death defiances will help, as will getting specific gods on specific weapons

as you get more darkness and nectar respectively, you'll be able to control both of those factors more

shield specifically tends to like aphrodite, artemis and athena- the last one in particular is a very helpful goddess if you're struggling to deal with projectiles

besides that, improving basic gameplay by dashing through attacks as opposed to away and using skelly to get used to every function of your weapon are good general things to familiarize yourself with

throw around your nectars, power up the mirror and your skills and upgrades generally grow alongside each other at pace

Dashing makes you invincible unless you hit attack and start a dash attack. Use both of your dashes one after another to get more i-frames which make it easy to dodge certain attacks.

I started playing Hades 1 and I'm already 10 hours in, but I've only reached the final Boss (hades) twice, and I'm 10 hours into the game. Am I too far behind? And in total I've tried 14 runs.

There are times when I end up dying over stupid things, I end up getting frustrated and I think "Am I too late to defeat Hades?" since I haven't defeated him even once yet.

being able to immediately walk into a shop in tartarus and secure a god into your god pool is extremely valuable

Sure you can get more obols from golden touch, but they have less value than the obols you would’ve been spending throughout your run

It’s more beneficial on most weapons to dash strike than to standing strike for dps, and it’s good repositioning

But you also need to be able to tell when you save your dashes and empty dash to avoid attacks

Since dash strikes lose the iframes that regular dashes have

aside from that, the whole concept of the “god pool” is really important for kinda formulating builds and the game never tells you about it

essentially, everytime you take a god(dess) in a run, they’re added to your “god pool”. Once it has 4 gods in it, you will only see boons from those gods unless you force the others in via keepsakes. This doesn’t apply to Hermes and Chaos because they work different from the regular olympians

And even when you do unlock if, if you skip by the Nyx dialogue or simply don’t clock it in, the only thing that changes about the mirror is those arrows so it’s insanely easy to miss

Early obols are really valuable because the early game shops offer you the most value from a build crafting standpoint

So if you need health or would eventually take health, take the health

getting hit by his skulls will inflict you with boiling blood and you’ll take twice as much damage until it goes away

If you haven’t got the attack patterns down that’s like less than 10 hits from max (given some of the attacks deal more)

He also has a truly massive amount of hp

||bit late but if tips are still needed, I recommend just always being behind or far from him depending if you have a melee or ranged build (the latter is easier imo). his attacks are very well telegraphed (so watch for them) and predictable which makes him one of the easiest bosses, but patience is definitely the way to go if you're new. it is better to slowly chip at him and avoid attacks than to try dps him down as fast as possible because he hits so hard (at least when you're new to the fight). rather miss a hit of personal damage than take a hit from him. if you have any damage over time that works well. in some fights it can be easier to just bulldoze the boss as quickly as possible and not worry too much about dodging everything....this is not one of those fights. take down add spawns as quickly as possible. also use the terrain to your advantage in the later stages of the fight (some things can be blocked by fixtures). Also worth noting that the boss attacks forwards (in the direction he is facing towards the player), so dodging sideways or through the attack is better than trying to run in the same direction as the attack.||

that works well but can be more difficult to do if you're not used to the fight. If you have enough range (e.g.) spear then you don't need to run back to him. There is room for both options depending on player preference. if the player in question can dodge through the attacks with good timing then certainly valid but not everyone can do that without practice. I found pecking at him from a distance easier in the beginning (when still learning the patterns) than perfectly timing my dodges even though I'm better at that now.

I know for me it’s been a good 430+ hours in game since I learned the Hades fight and I’m sure you have more game time than I do

I feel like the best way to practice the Hades fight is for sure just taking it slow so you can learn the moveset

Given he only summons adds at the breakpoints, you could easily just focus on dodging his attacks for ||phase 1|| by purely focusing on that and not trying to deal damage till you’re comfy
