A big short version on how to build weapons
If your weapon has high damage but somewhat slow speed you want to use boons like Aphrodite's attack
As those add a percentage increase to your base dmg

Shield kindaaaa fits into this but its dmg is also fairly low
You want hammers if you want to focus on your attack
See charged shot (bullrush becomes an 80 dmg piercing projectile) or pulverizing blow (attack hits twice)
Low base dmg but fast is hetter off using stuff like zeus
That adds an extra dmg source instead

For shield before you unlock all weapons, special isn't really that good
But as you are just trying to beat meg for now I guess you can turtle strat it
Putting something like zeus special or ares special and just spam that and slowly chip away enemies health
A bad thing about this is that you can't use your attack until the shield is back
Oh yeah, learning patterns for meg is also prob your best option more than dmg really
And either use your block + bullrush to move past most attacks or use your dash

this is regarding the lyre you can buy from the contractor, which activates a quest from the fated list of zag learning how to play it. You need to strum the lyre 210 times to complete the quest, but you also need to talk to orpheus about it 3 times to “advance” the quest

||for spear which is the first one, you have to unlock 5 aspects (that are not zagreus aspects, because these are unlocked from the beginning). for every other hidden aspect you need to invest 5 titan blood in the specific weapon (you can also invest that blood in zagreus aspects)||

Mostly it's about having a strong build by the time you get there, and not how to do that fight per se. Find the weapon you're most comfortable with, figure out some boons to get decent damage (is a common mistake for beginners to just go for the rarest boon without considering how they affect your main damage source)
For the fight, a lot of it comes down to spacing and timing. Learn to dash through some of the attacks rather than running away. Perhaps even look for boons that help with dashing and dodge chance (Hermes is good for this).
Unlock enough of the mirror to give yourself maximum death defiances and dashes, and pick other mirror talents that best suit your play style.
If you've lost more than one death defiance before getting to Styx, you might have a weak build. And pick up a core Athena boon to unlock the chance for extra death defiances.

Cause i do remember that it made sense story-wise that pact of punishment was unlocked after first win, on normal mode.

In Hell mode you are much more able to be stun locked and one-shotted in certain situations so your friend won't be as able to learn from their mistakes.
Once I got used to the changes in Hell Mode it was fine, but I already had hundreds of clears in normal mode by then.
