Dionysus' Aid is definitely among the best. I wouldn't put Artemis' Aid up there because her Call actually sucks without poms. It's decent if you put poms on it, but that's an opportunity cost. Whereas Zeus' Aid and Dionysus' Aid are just great DPS right away. And Aphrodite's Aid is great burst damage right away. Plus, Zeus' Aid and Aphrodite's Aid both open up Smoldering Air.

||if you didn't beat heat 1 but complete a run on heat 2, you get all the rewards for heat 1. you dont get the rewards for heat 2 tho, so you have to do it again||

kind of, the starting seed will be the same which determines the starting god and boons and couple rooms ahead, but depending on how far you got before you gave up you could start seeing differences as further rooms are determined by some actions taken in previous rooms

Basically you start with a seed and some actions alter that number which is then used again for RNG calculation, depending on what you do in a room, so yeah
but it's also stuff like casting, if you use a cast that you didn't use before that can change the seed

not sure what exactly changes it and how much as I only learned this stuff from things I saw online and it was some time ago, but casting specifically I remember being mentioned, speedrunners would for example use a cast before leaving a room because they had tried out different things to see what gets them better RNG

That is how it acts, giving up loads your last save before run start, however I think dialogue can sometimes change as I've 100% had dialogue change in the starting room with the same god. So either there is like a list of possible dialogues and it gets chosen when you actually pick up the boon independently of seed or I'm not sure what's going on

Am I odd for actually being emotionally invested with the characters here in combination with gameplay? For example, I would meet ||Eurydice||, and choose one of the random rewards, and only when the random buffs land on the ones I like, do I give nectar. 😅
Also, for ||Eurydice|| particularly, I always feel like I need to stay to ||hear the song|| to completion at least once, to show respect. I know it's probably not great in general but I wonder how much other players, new or not, enjoy the aesthetics as much 😄

I have a vendetta against Zeus where I skip everything he says and up until recently never took any boons from him. I plan to reconcile with him reluctantly after finishing everything else in the game and finally max out his affection and keepsake.

Aphrodite's Aid at high rarity with a couple poms on it + Smoldering Air => can basically Charm-lock bosses
With Zeus' Aid or Dionysus' Aid, they actually want lesser calls instead of greater call anyway. So it's just lots of free DPS.
Beyond that, any Call activation gives you invincibility for a brief moment.
Which lasts a bit longer than the invincibility from empty dashes, pretty sure.
And more importantly, you lose your empty dash invincibility as soon you press attack or anything... but if you use your Call, you'll keep the invincibility even if you do an attack or something.

Not much more to it than just keep playing, keep checking out the contractor for upgrades that will make you get bonus resources. Also before every run one of the weapons will have a "dark thirst" buff on it, it adds bonus darkness (20% I believe) if you do a run with that weapon.

20% extra darkness doesn't seem too much as it only adds like a few to the batch.

I have unlocked all weapons (there's a space for one too which I can't be unlocked using keys)

that space should be filled in with another weapon after you do another run
and that 20% isn't exactly necessary, but if you need to farm darkness for a bit, then it's worth taking
that 20% adds up a lot, esp from bosses

Could someone illuminate the mechanics behind room selection for me? I just had a run where I rerolled a door where there were three doors, darkness, key, and gems, every other time I've done this it's rerolled the door into nectar. This made since to me because I assumed it can't reroll into the same thing or the two remaining doors which leaves only one "progression reward", except this time it rerolled it into a snack pack or whatever they are called, which I have never seen offered as a room reward, and when I tried to reroll it again it kept just rerolling into snack packs. Is there some mechanic that could have made nectar not a valid door option for rerolling? Another question I had was if there was a way to filter out certain gods from being offered. I know once you have four gods you can't find others, but does picking one god over another when you have two options mean the other god won't show up anymore or can it still show up? And if so what if you choose hermes/gold/pom/heart/shop/hammer over a god? How about rerolling a door with a god? And lastly if you sell the only boon you have with a god will you still be tied to that god or will it free up a slot for another god? Sorry for a lot of questions but the mechanics are kind of confusing and I'd like to fully understand them.

Ignoring a god ghrough any means wont make them not show up, selling all of your boons wont release that god from your pool
The only way to "stop" certain gods from appearing is excluding them from your pool once it hits 4

hestia can be pretty simple with just reloading and firing repeatedly with a special every now and then, but at high level play it's pretty difficult to fully optimize your damage rotation

Malphon needs two hits to kill e.g. Numbskulls without Fiery Presence. And later in the run for the meta builds, the difference doesn't matter because the vast majority of your DPS is unaffected.
Rail Special can't backstab and Attack base damage is pretty irrelevant.
Shield benefits a lot from Fiery for Charged Shot. But Shadow is a decent choice.
Sword can go either way. I usually like Shadow more.
Spear usually Shadow unless it's hidden spear.
Bow definitely wants Fiery.

it probably isn't a huge difference, but i run shadow mostly because of how a lot of spin-dash dodges place you behind enemies anyways to take advantage of the bonus
and DC2 can make it finicky to capitalize on fiery giving a bonus to spins for example
but especially without running DC2, you can go either way just fine

Don't need to have the rail equipped to get the dialogue from Lord Zeus once you meet the requirements.

The dash-strike-combo felt right, and the hammer/boons/chaos-boons I got made attack great, while dash(zeus)/cast(dio bomb + lightning duo) supplemented damage well when I'm dodging things....... I seriously felt like the hidden bow played more awkwardly.

you get more dashes but the dashes are shorter and have a longer cooldown
also the atks are slower, but since it hits faster and lighter than other heavy hitters, you still want flat damage on it. the slower hits compared to normal fists make it worse for the flat damage effects
with bow, you need to dash strike so the shots charge faster

I can't personally attest to that because I never had that issue myself, but I've heard from other players that they found hidden bow difficult to learn.

Actually, now that I'm typing this out loud, I realize that what I'm missing are combinations of boons/hammers that propel these weapons. Is there a document or something where popular boons/hammers for specific weapons are listed along with mechanics? Would be useful to have a reference to look up builds as I decide on the random choices that are presented in a run..

You'll unlock more ways to get Titan Blood after your first clear. Until then, you can just beat the Furies with each weapon (once), trade in Ambrosia, and buy Titan Blood from the Styx shop for 1,200 Obols. (50% chance it's for sale, 50% chance it's a Diamond for 1,000 instead.)

i have been playing the game for some time now, but i feel like i just suck and dont really know what to do. my best run was stopped by the bull at elysium (i was using the bow), but except for that, i couldnt even pass the hydra, and many times died before even reaching it. usually i can defeat the tartarus boss but not always. i feel like all my relative succes is purely luck.
for weapons i go with whichever gives extra purple gems , and for stage rewards, i go for pernaments upgrades and hammers if possible , if not, then with a god that i think appropriate based on my weapon or with a pom if i have a boon that i like

if you want to focus on clearing, it might be better to focus getting better with one aspect/weapon instead of hopping around
