Yeah but you're going to want to start clearing with new weapons to get more blood, it's probably better to get one good aspect in each weapon rather than spending blood on all sword aspects early. Just my advice anyway

Weirdest thing just happened. I'm working or a fresh file and have definitely got out once with rail (it was yesterday) so I aimed for a quick farming run to get more darkness for the mirror. Picked rail again (Hestia both times) at zero heat, but I'm getting Titan blood rather than darkness for Meg. And the progression map shows I don't have bosses cleared!?

In phase 2 it will ALWAYS punish you if you hit it after it attacks, so bait it out and then punish it back.

Phase 3 is like 2, but it slams more times and his some big spam attacks.

So once you can reliably take basically no damage on the solo head phases, you just gotta burn down the multi head phases as fast as possible

Multi head phase is where you'll take some damage. Concentrate or getting a couple of heads down that are next to each other to buy yourself some space, but don't stand still. Be prepared to dodge out and do some work on a different had for a bit.

Yeah. Taking 8 room rolls and saving them for Styx mostly let's you do boonless reliably ... mostly.

The "nerf" was still during development. From 50 to 45 base damage for the Special. Didn't really affect it too much.

100%. The first no-hit run was done by Haelian with Hestia.

And the first 40 Heat clear was done with Guan Yu. The Special was toned down a bit since, and a lot of aspects were brought up to its level. But it's still a pretty good aspect.

You need to enjoy a glass cannon playstyle, which isn't everyone's thing, naturally.

There's no "correct" way to play, really. It's a lot safer to just use your Special from far away than to play aggressive with Special into Dash-Strikes, for example, but being more aggressive gives you much better DPS, of course. The downside of that is you can't make a lot of mistakes.

Ironically, the best speedruns have relatively low DPS compared to some slower runs because they get so many free rooms, they don't get to do much damage. dusa

Crystal Clarity probably better than Hunting Blades for high heat, both good options. But then you run into AP2, RI, etc.
