well with dio cast youre mainly using stygian soul then looking for extra casts which is what matters the most

doesnt matter that much. ideally ones with status effects if running priv status.
your attack and special mostly go to being prerequisites for other parts of the build. by the end of a meme beam run youre getting almost all of your damage from beams

I’ve tried so hard to speedrun with Eris, and always end up short of around a minute. Fastest ever was 5 seconds from sub10. I got my first sub10 with Demeter fist in the end

Eris is pretty commonly considered one of the best aspects in the game until you start taking pacts that make your good builds less likely to happen. So AP, RI, CF. And it's also not particularly great at doing EM4 since you always have to be pressing the attack button for damage to happen. So it's fantastic until you get to the 45+ heat mark, at which point it starts falling off dramatically. It's still great, just a lot less safe and consistent since you can't reliably blow up entire rooms instantly anymore so you have to play safer and your build probably won't come together all the way.

Focus on one run at a time. Get really familiar with one aspect, and try to push heat on it, or maybe just switch between the Dark Thirst (is the the name of it?) aspects while you chip away at bounties.

Also I think the Breaching Cross vs. Explosive Upper is probably colored by the fact that I prefer heat to speedrunning. When you start stacking BP, JS, and CP, the ability to kill large clusters of very thick enemies with one Demeter empowered special is so dank.
But if you're speedrunning I imagine Breaching Cross just does a lot more reliable damage

If 50 is literally unimaginable in difficulty to you, there's not much point in comparing yourself to that metric. Like I said, it's a free action. You can do whatever you want during reload except if you were standing still when you pressed the button, you get a different reload animation than if you were already running, and then you can't run out of that stationary reload... but you can dash or whatever else you want and then move freely again.

You don't "break" anything when you press Reload during a Dash. You just get your normal dash animation, a Reload sound effect, and the Reload gauge goes up.
Same thing if you press Reload during Cast or Special.
If you press Reload first, and then any of those moves, you cancel the reload animation. But the gauge still goes up like normal, so you don't shorten the reload duration.
If you press Reload while running, you get a "reload while running" animation and can keep running or anything you want.
If you press Reload while standing still, you get a "reload while standing" animation that locks you in place. Meaning, you can't start running during that animation. But if you do anything else, it will cancel the animation.

Fun fact. If the surface of lava solidifies from contact with air/water, oftentimes it's still lava underneath for a long time lol, so if you're walking on it, you can easily crack through the shell and immediately get owned.
