Nyaanyaa's Crush Shot Hera Guide
start and get Crush Shot and lots of poms on it. Switch to Frostbitten Horn in Asphodel to get Snow Burst. And after that, look for Mirage Shot if you have at least one of the required gods in your pool or just grab the Hourglass for ammo/braids from the Wells or Coin Purse if you can't afford them or Sigil for the DPS.
If you already got Snow Burst in Tartarus and have at least one of the required gods for Mirage Shot, you can force the other one in Asphodel and get it there.
Deadly Strike + Tidal Dash is usually the best combo for unlocking Mirage Shot, but it's perfectly fine to take a good Heartbreak Strike instead if you see it. Heartbreak Strike does a lot of damage.
Make sure you get a lot of poms on your Cast. That's #1 priority for your poms. Rarity of your Cast doesn't matter.
Get bonus Cast damage or +1 ammo from Master Chaos whenever you can. Common bonus Cast damage is about as good as +1 ammo, so just grab whichever has the better curse if both are offered. Higher rarity bonus Cast damage is almost always better than +1 ammo.

You could take Thick Skin over High Confidence if you're doing higher heats, but at relatively low heat (up to like 20 imo at least), the bonus damage you get on your Cast from High Confidence is just too good to pass up.

Just to be clear: Snow Burst is more important than Mirage Shot.
Don't be afraid to spend all your Persuasion rerolls to try to get Snow Burst.
Taking any core boon or Frost Touch from Lady Demeter unlocks a lot of tier 2 boons in her pool. That makes it harder to get Snow Burst, so you generally want to avoid that.
If you already have Snow Burst, it's fine, although you'd rather want Ravenous Will and Killing Freeze at that point.

the main way you get darkness is through boss rewards really

The effect is really big.
Not accounting for shops and minibosses, you're seeing 40% more boons, poms, centaur hearts, and obol rewards.
So if you picked randomly out of those, you'd have 40% more HP, 40% more poms, 40% more boons, and 40% more gold that you can also spend on any of those.

@grand swift use High Confidence, Family Favorite, and Dark Foresight for speedruns, and Chthonic Vitality to keep your HP topped for High Confidence.
And turn off TD for IGT speedruns because TD removes survival rooms in Tartarus.
You want those because they stop the timer. That's more free rooms for you.
TD is only on for RTA speedruns.
Making those changes should improve your times a lot.

Also, most of the challenges are designed to test your knowledge of various mechanics. If you think you did everything right but didn't get what you need to win the challenge, it's always a good idea to ask for help in the community. Even if you're not finding somebody who knows the answer right away, you might be able to figure out a strategy together or find somebody who knows where to find resources that can help you.

If I find that any part of a challenge depends too much on luck even if you know the mechanics inside-out, you can usually expect that I moved that part to the optional extra challenge or just remove it altogether from the challenge.

Why thank you. Like I said I wasn’t actually trying to speed run during those, builds just happened to come together. I was just showing someone something for privileged and dark regeneration for someone and never turned them off 😂 I just thought I was fun running and just ended up doing insanely good.

My best clear at this point was 14:02 without fully trying actual proper speedrunning. I haven’t been playing as much because I’m trying to finish up stuff to start a Metroid prime series ahead of Dread. I got 13:48 the first match having funsies. Then I got 12:37 or so. Then 11:11 the next after. I was dumbfounded.
