I kinda like aspect of hades. Setting up a spin attack to debuff enemies and bosses without getting hit is pretty fun (until you get the daedalus that makes max charge spin attacks come out way faster. Then it’s just a free debuf)
Guan Yu feels really fun. I have one victory(and run) under my belt with it but it’s also currently at level 1. So the HP debuff really hurts.
Then again, slow heavy attacks and frantically aiming the spin for HP is probably what keeps it interesting.

Take out Satyrs first while circling around any Snakestones if there are any and staying away from any Gigantic Vermin, then take out Snakestones, then kite Giant Rats away from any poison puddles to kill them, then kill off any Bothers that remain.
You can easily circle Snakestones to get into their blind spots.
In big rooms, you can also just move outside of their range.
And make sure you use any obstacles in the room to your advantage.
Tidal Dash and Dying Lament are great in Satyr tunnels.
A good Call like Zeus' Aid with Proud Bearing or an Aether Net, or ideally with Smoldering Air, also takes care of the small chambers quickly.
Wall-Slam damage scales with the biome, so Tidal Dash is especially strong in the Temple of Styx.
If you happen to have Phalanx Shot, just throw it immediately at the first enemy you see when you enter a chamber. The Deflect from the Cast will give you some protection.
For the Satyrs, strafe them with a dash when they shoot at you, and listen for the audio cue when they ready their attack.
Never stay in front of a Gigantic Vermin's head. Their bites are very fast and hit hard. If one is facing you and close, immediately dash to either side to get out of its line of attack.

aesterius (alone) isn't hard if you focus.
he announces pretty clearly when he's going to double slash, so just dodge to behind him.
once he's finished double slashing, he starts lunging for smashes. he does 2 or 3 sometimes (sometimes none), but he also announces, so just dodge into the opposite direction to end at his back.
at first it's safe to dodge either direction, but once his hp is down his smashes shoot projectiles forward and to the sides, so only safe place is directly behind him
when he charges, just hug a column and dash through. he'll hit the column.

@slim cape to clarify, no, you don't need to have Malphon equipped to hear the waking phrase from Asterius. But you do need Malphon equipped for a previous dialogue, in which Asterius comments on Malphon, and that dialogue is required for him to say the waking phrase in another run.

Priority boons are Attack, Special, Cast, and Dash. Call is not a priority boon.
When you have no priority boons yet, any boon you pick up will offer 3 of the 4 priority boons at random.
When you have a priority boon already, any boon you pick up has a 10% chance to offer an exchange for any of the priority boons you have. If no exchange is offered, one free priority boon will be offered. If no exchange is offered, and all your priority slots are filled, no priority boon is offered.
After all of that, if a tier 2 status curse (i.e., Jolted, Hunter's Mark, Rupture, or Exposed) is still available for offer, there's a 50% chance that boon will be offered in one slot.
And after all of that happens, the game rolls for any remaining slots in order: legendary/duo > epic > rare > fill all remaining slots with common > if there are still empty slots, fill with any boon that's possible.
That means that if you have any free priority slots and don't have the tier 2 status curse from the god's pool yet, you can end up only getting to roll for duo/legendary in one of three slots that are offered.
If you have all priority slots filled and there's no t2 status curse in the pool (left), you get three rolls for it. That means the odds are way better.
