some prophecies give them out. a note on infernal gates, you can only use them at 5/10/15 heat. 5 heat opens the gates in tartarus, 10 heat opens the gates in tartarus and asphodel, 15 heat opens the gates in those regions and elysium

and of course at any higher heat over 15 they'll all be open

but those are the minimum values

you don't understand heat, i think

the first time killing a boss with a weapon you can get the reward with 0 heat. the second time you can get the reward with 1 heat, the third time it'll be with 2 heat, and so on

of course, the heat doesn't increase if you don't get the reward

since you've never used heat, you'll only need 1 heat

Other than being my favorite character Than might be my favorite mechanic. If you're doing well and want more, you aggressively kill anyone he targets to go for that extra health but if you're fearful of dying or want to save as much of your current health as possible you can hide behind him and let him kill everything for you. Whenever he throws down his circle of death it really exemplifies this. Sometimes your trying to quickly push enemies out of it to get a higher kill score and others you push and lure enemies into it to get rid of dangerous threats faster. Sometimes you even change which goal you're going for mid fight.

@blissful mica every character only gives you one keepsake, some will however give you a companion if you talk a lot with them and give them a certain amount of ambrosia

however to be able to give ambrosia you need to have given the character as much nectar as they can take

Personally I prefer the bow and the shield. The fists are rather fun. The gun I can never seem to have reliable damage output towards end game, as for the spear and sword I get way to dash happy and end up taking a lot of unnecessary damage.

so at the end of a run you should have 4 or 5 gods

Trials can only show up if you have boons from 2+ gods and will only have gods that you already have boons from.

If you pick up a boon and sell it later, it still counts towards that.
