I mean, it depends on when you are in the game. If you are in early game (before beating hades), buy whatever you need. If you are in the midgame, probably try to save for diamond/titan blood to upgrade weapon aspects, If you are lategame, the strat changes again and saving money makes less sense

nah, like they said, "replaces" only appears if it's one of the core 5 boons- Attack, Special, Cast, Dash, Call. Those are the 5 Main boons, each God has 1 of each, one improves your attack, to improve your special, etc. And other boons that do all sorts of stuff, either buff other boons or buff you directly but don't change one of the 5 things mentioned before. Duo Boons that are mutually exclusive can't happen at once, for obvious reasons once you get to know what they are.
Hunting Blades requires you to have Ares Cast
Freezing Vortex, if i remember correctly, requires you to have Poseidon Cast
Of course, you can't have 2 casts, it's one or the other, as we just said, so it's not a "replace", it just can't appear
