you can only speak with orpheus once per run, you have to do multiple runs even if you sit and collect all the interactions in one go
the game only checks how many times you've interacted with the lyre, nothing else about how you choose to tackle it really matters beyond personal preference

Yes. First pom can be higher or lower than a rarity upgrade depending on boon. Rarity upgrade for some boons can be variable. For example, a common Lv.1 Heartbreak Strike will always be +50% Attack damage, whereas a rare Lv.1 can range from +65% to +75%. But an upgrade from common Lv.1 to Lv.2 will always be +70%. Some boons also can't be upgraded with poms at all and can only be upgraded to a higher rarity.
Rarity and pom bonuses are additive.

This game has a very interesting power progression. At first it makes you think that the only reason you are doing any better is because you are slowly finding new weapons and upgrading the mirror.
In reality though, a lot of the ability to get farther, faster, has to do with skill.

Depends on the call, there are certain builds and certain calls that are a godsend (pun intended) and other builds where you only want certain calls
For example on demeter merciful end, I will avoid the ares and poseidon calls like the plague

What is really powerful on it is any % based boon, especially aphrodite or artemis, coupled with zeus on the attack. At lvl 1 it's pretty underwhelming.
But at lvl 5 it becomes insane.

There's a purchaseable codex upgrade. Once you get it, going to the god page "c" will allow you to hit "b" and actually see the prerequisite boons for things
highlighting ones you have etc
it is HUGELY useful.

best friend run imo is whichever weapon you’re best at, start with poseidon keepsake and gods legacy, roll for sunken treasure/ oceans bounty, and then try to get huge catch before asphodel
