@hushed coral Spike Collar will represent more health overall up to that part. Tooth just does too little, 100HP one single time, and only once. Spike Collar gives you an extra fifty right at the start, and gives you more healing by way of fountains and food

@rancid ember He's talking about in-game time, which is in the upper right corner when you turn on the timer in options. If THAT clocks in at an hour, you're doing a lot of standing around doing nothing I think

Tier 1 and 2 boons
Tier 1 are core boons so attack, flourish etc and others that don't require anything to appear
Tier 2 boons require other boons to have a chance to appear
You can check the prerequisites in the codex if you have the advanced codex from the contractor
At the beginning it's more likely to get core boons for slots you haven't filled
If you already have a slot filled a god might offer you a replacement boon at a higher rarity
But that's a bit rarer
