@spring pawn that is indeed a problem, but you can get used to it. If you don't play because of that alone you are missing a masterpiece of a game

Just get a damage buff that works well with fast attack speed and go to town

In my limited experience you will bypass the next set of rooms by taking a chaos gate. So yeah, you'll miss out on hammer.
I may show up again by chance, but far from guaranteed.

From my experience, the game tries fairly hard to give you a hammer in Elysium. Doesn't try quite as hard in Tartarus

@woven cipher They don't stack. As far as the one that actually gets through, not sure. Might be the most recent doom status that has been applied that goes off
With that being said, you can empower a given attack/special Doom status with the Dire Misfortune boon via repeateadly applying it while it's lingering

Just here to say i've bough the game yesterday, and after 9 hours and a a 52 rooms run just now I pretty much love it. It's amazing from the art to gameplay by music and sotryline character design systems and and and a well balanced speed/lisibility at screen nectar. Wow! sounds like other Supergiant Games games but even better, again. Thank you for this gem.

Man I don't even like rogue likes. I played a bit of Streets of Rogue because I was on holidays in Florida with it so I love it for different reasons. Same with Enter the Gungeon and Moonlighter. This is just next level gaming. Absolute kudos. Cannot praise enough.
