Hey @thorny arrow ! You're intended to see all major voice lines/events even if you continue an older save file. You may experience things a bit differently/in a different order if you restart, but you'll still see the newly added content either way.

i mean i agree it was a bit op before the rework its just way too annoying to use now. i think its mostly because most of my movement is dashing and running is much slower so adjusting your distance a bit by running feels so bad to me

Aphrodite's cast also used to fire two sets of like... 5 projectiles each in cones. Like two cones in front of you. This shotgunning meant it did extremely high damage up close.

I've read that most things - if not all even - are avaiable even on an existing save, and stuff like new dialogue lines will appear, still.
But maybe there are also some early game changes that will only be apparent on an unenhanced character.
