You are kinda forced into it. Think of it this way. There’s a heat that turns off the mirror of darkness. All talents off at 8 heat. You can play the base game with less darkness options and still get blood this way

1.0 will add a contractor upgrade that costs 99999 gems, but the game is coded to cap at 99998 gems. The contractor upgrade is a sculpture of Tantalus

If || you're attempting heat higher than what you've completed before for a given weapon, you will get extra rewards from bosses. Otherwise, you'll get a decent amount of darkness ||
