Fun discovery: I picked up Heartbreak Strike on the [REDACTED] sword and then Hoarding Slash with about 1100 gold, which is not as crazy as it could be since, y'know, [REDACTED], slow swings and all. At any rate, this apparently means I kill Asterius and Theseus so fast that I haven't even built a Greater Call by the time the chariot blows up. I guess gauge gain is based on hits rather than damage?

My first opinion on hades : At first I was a bit confused because I need to completely start over from the beginning after each death. But soon I saw all the nice touches and dialogs that comes available after each run and how it motivates me to come further and further. Iam a big fan of all your games I loved pyre and transistor and I never played a rogue like game so I was confused at first but now after 30 hours iam really loving it. Can't wait for the final version and buying it again on my ps4 👍

arthur's fun for it's massive AOE and animation cancelling. Poseidon aspect is fun to run zeus poseidon with. Guan yu has a really nice Artemic build. Yeah I guess I'm at the point where I don't lose too much health until the furies. And then I always lose a fair bit to magma and enemies from Asphodel onwards, but I do not prioritise darkness so I don't think that would help me as much as just a little per room
I'm also not doing high heats where a big darkness drop from the bosses would sustain me through the biome either

ok real question cause i want the opinion of other players, am i the only one who feels like the plume's timer should be based on amount of "spawn rounds" there are? its great on 1-2 spawn rooms but in Elysium there are rooms where rounds and rounds of enemies spawn and after around 2 youve basically just lost any benifit you couldve possibly had no matter how fast you are just cause of how long it takes the enemies to spawn. idk if the "spawn rounds" do affect it but if they do i dont know if its enough. ive gotten through hades a multitude of times and i like the concept of the plume but it becomes so frustrating to use sometimes
and i do also wonder what the balance reasons are! im not a game designer so ofc i dont have that kindve insight, so for all i know its maybe designed in a super good way and im the one not utilizing it correctly, or itd be too overpowered in that case

Increasing heat is the "quick" way to get Diamonds, Ambrosia and Titan Blood, which is used to advance relationships, upgrade items and weapons, thanks to the broker / final shop you don't ever have to leave heat 0 but it will take longer

Every boon has a level and a rarity.
Rarities go from Classic, Rare, Epic, Heroic.
And levels are just levels.
Some boons have Legendary or Duo rarity, which is its own separate thing. Those boons only have that rarity.

Increasing the rarity of a boon offers two advantages: a) It powers up more than with a regular pom. b) It also scales better with subsequent poms.

There's definitely boons out there where the rarity doesn't matter at all. A lot of Athena's stuff, actually. Holy Shield / Divine Dash fulfill their function just fine on any rarity whatsoever.

Dio or Aphro dash are other ones where the rarity generally isn't a big deal. If you take it you mostly take it to proc Priv Status, how much damage it deals is irrelevant.

When you beat it is usually when it really starts to click.
For comparison - I got my first win at run 23, the second at 28, the third at 30, the fourth at 32 and from then on I didn't lose for almost 50 straight runs, with increasing difficulty on every follow-up.

It's absolutely a matter of taste.
Generally the Zagreus ones are solid, dependable, and cheap.

best thing to do is unlock one, play around with skelly, if you dont like it, reload. so long as you dont return to zag's room after an unlock you can reset it. zag's room is an auto save point

Like, the Hades Aspect for spear is pretty good.
But if you don't enjoy the spin attack playstyle, it's kind of bad.
Or say, Eris aspect for the Adamant Rail.
They change the way you play, so you have to judge if you'll do well playing differently.
Zagreus Aspects are generally "Just keep on doing the normal stuff, but better"
