Oh yeah, I remember now. I wanted to ask how did they come up with making Aphrodite so powerful in many senses. I've seen her in other games and she's usually shrugged off as being just a "goddess of beauty that doesn't do much".
But in Hades, she's really strong and versatile (and I love it 💗 )

@fathom tinsel yeah, if youve allready gotten the main reward, the game will reward you darkness instead. You need to increase the heat level, or finish a run on the current heat level to get all those bounties

general consensus was that they'd send thanatos (or in some versions hades himself) to deadass take him into the underworld
and thanatos was given a set of special chains to bind him with, as he was a crafty man
long story short sisyphus tricks thanatos and binds him with the chains he brought, and locked him so they wouldn't be able to drag him into the underworl
cue the obvious happening and people starting to not die without Thanatos to do his job
this angers Ares a great deal, who is pretty bummed about people not dying in wars, and so he complains about it to Zeus
everyone realizes thanatos is missing and start searching him, eventually tracking him back down to sisyphus' place
sisyphus was a smart lad though, and had a backup plan which basically consisted in him convincing his wife to not fulfill any of the funerary rites on his soon to be corpse and just let him to rot on the street
the gods find him, decide that enough is enough, and drag the sod to the underworld
then he procedes to complain about him not having been given the proper funerary rights to Persephone, who takes pity on him and allows him to return to the world of the living to haunt his wife until he is properly buried
cue Sisyphus being a smartass and just entering his body and doing stuff as usual
the gods decide to call it a day and wait for nature to follow its course and wait until sisyphus dies of old age
whereupon they decide to not listen to him and put him on a punishment: pushing a rock up a hill, whereupon reaching it the rock will just roll back down and sisyphus will have to do it all over again
the whole thing is a metaphor, as his whole punishment is a meaningless task, much like trying to cheat death

Zeus's Cast isn't...great at all, at least so far as I've seen.
The trick is that Zeus's chain lightning for Attack is a flat damage bonus, so for fast, low-damage attacks like the fists' punches or T H E G U N's shots, it actually boosts it by more than percentage boosts, and since it ricochets, it even helps with crowd control.
Essentially, since Zeus's damage bonuses are additive, the equivalent of a multiplicative boost is having them proc more often, so using them in combination with, say, his shield Aspect's Special, or the aforementioned Attacks (could also include the sword if you have the Flurry Slash Daedalus Hammer mod), will provide better results than putting it on, say, the bow's normal attack.
Chiron is kind of an edge case, since it runs into the nerf they put on Zeus's Special boost, wherein the lightning will only proc like three or four times due to a hidden cooldown.

there's a few options with bow, but they all require some sort of combination of boon or hammer. The safe move is to get some form of area attack before you get to elysium: explosive shot alone should get past it as long as you're not aiming directly at them but instead behind or on the side. Hera aspect with snow burst works, too, along with i think a few other area attack boons.

I liked single dash in the past, especially on the second level when the game considers almost everywhere “in danger” for the purposes of procing it. Mostly though the reliability of a second dash off the bat is super useful.

I've found the timing of the I-frames of the dash funky, so I've been trying to get a better feel for that

Yeah it actually kinda helped when I started of thinking of the dash like the bloodied scarf item from Enter the Gungeon, it basically teleports you to the destination. It also just comes with time and getting a feel for enemy attack animations.

It’s fast enough and without stuff like ADP or whatever that stat from DS2 was that affected the I-frames of your roll that it feels more like a teleport to me at least. But of course like any roguelite there’s times where I get hit and wonder if somehow the game gods just decided that my animation didn’t do anything useful.

I was wondering if it would be possible to set 2 key binds for different dashes on M&K so that the "regular" dash could be on space bar and the directional dash towards the cursor could be on another key, for example on the mouse. I think it could be very useful to have a bit more control over your dash while still being able to attack enemies while dashing when you want to. it should be for x encounters whenever you cast you take damage but after that you get a perma buff
so avoid using cast for those x encounters

he has two distinct playstyles in doom and blade rift, so if you want to go for one particular style of play aim for boons that help with that, otherwise you open up the boon pool to both doom and blade rift which makes it harder to get specific boons you may want
there's boon trees pinned in #h1-builds-and-combat that are very helpful
and it's a good place to ask for build advice too

Ares doom is pretty great with bow special(except Chiron aspect). And dash is good for interrupting unarmored enemies. Ares cast is useless without the Artemis/Ares duo.

I've seen quite a few complaints about lack of enemy and boss variety, do you think the number will be increased substantially in the next few updates leading to release?

the biggest thing is comparing a already complete product to something still in early access, so imo at least the comparisons aren't entirely the best
if Hades was at 1.0 however there's definitely more ground for the comparisons if their isn't more variety in enemies by then
but I'm inherently biased as someone who really enjoys hades as it is atm and looking forward to experiencing what supergiant has to offer in the new patch once that drops ^_^

Yeah I totally get that. I just think that lots of review (like AJS and IGN) say "its has great potential" going on to say that they dont think there is enough here.
I'm only saying this because I want this game to be GOTY by the way, not complaining

That's something I would definitely stick in #hades-feedback . Personally I don't actually mind it as-is, but I wouldn't be opposed to more stuff

that I very much disagree with; 6 weapons, 2 with 4 aspects, the rest with 3 atm and the pact of punishment adding modifiers that can change the way you approach situations
not mentioning how the aspects can change how one approaches builds

I think it's almost entirely the enemy and boss variety that people have gripes with, I agree that player variety is more than diverse

I think that's partly from the game not being out of early access yet and those reviewing it not having touched ||extreme measures|| which is boss variety in of itself

I've spent over 200 hours in the game and there are still so, so many aspects and builds I haven't had a chance to try or even a chance to think of.
And I'm still figuring out how to fight some enemies lol.

The ||Pact of Punishment|| generally changes things a whole lot.

Part of it is how you approach the game. If you look at it like "how do I clear consistently" you're gonna get stuck. If you look to experiment and try different things (I've recently started doing runs where I only get chaos boons, for example) that's where you're going to find the fun

I think my biggest point was this: diablo 3 has loads of build variety (just like hades) but the enemies and bosses did little but stand there, apply a bit of untelegraphed damage and wait to die. Hades' enemies seem to move and telegraph attack which is great, and in order to move from great to brilliant I think it needs more enemy variety with different types of attacks. Otherwise we'll have thousands of different player builds but only the same few dozen enemies to use them on.
If I sound ignorant it's probably because I'm not close to seeing everything on offer, but this was my impressions from the first 20 hours or so

Possibly, but at the same time, you can't please everybody. Personally, I'd rather they focus on polishing the enemies we already have.

Fights should be challenging but fair. You shouldn't feel like RNG put you in an unwinnable situation when you've had everything going for you (strong build etc.).

Also, if you check the little teaer for the June update at the end of the Nighty-Night trailer, it did mention new enemies! So maybe there will be somethnig for you there, regardless.
