I beg to differ, just beat a run (hydra and all) with the rapid fire upgrade with a Poseidon knockback on base attack + Artemis crit on mortar. Cast was the new Dionysus one.
Mortar can be powerful if you focus on leading enemies into it/knocking them into it.
Railgun is awesome to use though.

I think that's a little behind the bell curve but, if you're not a fairly hardcore gamer I think you'll reach the point where you can beat the current content semi-reliably within 100 runs

But anyway, my point is: it's hard to give a clear average because of the dramatic changes in the meta,
If you started playing early, when 'life drinker' still existed, you could very easily beat the current content, if you knew how to abuse that ability,
If you started playing prior to the Chaos update, you may have been held back because of Meg, even if you were skilled enough to get through the second level without much trouble,
Not to meantion that the final fight has changed a lot too.
If you started now: you'd probably have a relatively easy time of the final boss, compared to early adopters

I drew up some ideas for what the remaining Gods' boons could be and Dionysus was a really exciting one for me because he's not just the God of wine, he's also the God of madness and intoxication
There are sooo many creative and entertaining things you could do with that concept!
I suggested a % chance of turning the enemy to your side (yeah, I know Unhealthy Fixation already does that but it's perfect for Dionysus)
Or you could have them just lash out at everyone nearby, due to being driven mad, including you, if you want to distinguish it from Aphrodite's legendary
Or a confusion/dizziness effect that messes with their path finding, causing them to stumble around instead of running straight for you, or just slows them down
And so many more awesome ideas!
But it's just another one that does more damage, like Zeus, Ares and arguably Athena and Artemis, albeit they handle it a little differently
It's not a bad effect, it just isn't as creative as I wanted
