does anyone else have the feeling that the game tends to become tedious once you get to the later stages? i feel like having all enemies spawn with armor in addition to having multiple spawn waves is a bit too much unless you get a really really glass cannon build. bosses tend to be a bit long in the tooth as well, especially when going for bow builds, which tend to have weak damage output in my experience
on the topic of the skull spawners. having 4 armored ones spawn close together and them spawning skulls with armor effect is really unfun for bow. i had to run around for 7 minutes or so getting 1-2 hits in before i had to run a whole lap around the area for another go. meanwhile more and more skulls spawn which take additional time to clear once the piles are done.

I think if you have the available income to spend on this game it is worth it. Worst case scenario is if the game doesn't have enough content, you play it each patch until you feel you have done all there is, and then a month later you get another patch with more!

I can relatively reliably get to Meg but haven't managed to get past her yet

what weapon do you use

She has a specific pattern of attacks, some of which she apparently only uses below half hp.
She's easier to kill at range than up close, so bow and spear are better than sword and shield to start with.
The new mirror ability that increases damage based on casts stuck in an enemy really makes the boss fights easier.
Also, poseidon, zeus and aphrodite arent as useful as say ares or athena.
For the bosses, they're as good as anything else otherwise

zeus's uhh it's like chain lightning? and then ares' curse where they take dmg afterwards can be really nice
at some point I had leveled ares' curse to 6 so I was doing +161 dmg after every atk kek

idk with meg at first I think I went a little wild trying to kill all the enemies around her as well but at this point I just kill a few of them, and then lead meg away from the herd so I can focus on her

it's a bit counter intuitive that while they're most vulnerable on melee range, they are also most dangerous

that part is not the bad part about them in asphodel imho. i usually spawn 3 at the same time in addition to other enemiesand they just fill the screen with projectiles ( which would be fine if they were the only danger, but with hazards and usually 2 additional enemy types present it just becomes unfun)
depending on weapon it feels "unfair" in that i have no way to counter/ avoid getting hit there
bow is the worst offender in that regard unless you have instant charge
i wish i could stop wanting to play with coronacht <.<
using the other weapons in between always feels like a breeze
maybe i like the witches too because they don't have massive amounts oh hp ^^ almost anything else feels like damage sponges

yeah the instant charge combined with extra flat damage is workable until right in front of the hydra. then the amount of enemies just becomes ridiculous at times
so if you get that one again, use zeus or ares

I find it really difficult to dodge projectiles with the bow because the basic attack animation is much longer than the other weapons so, even when I hit dash in time, Zag won't move until a fraction of a second after the projectile makes contact

only times this doesn't work is with the witches in asphodel who just vomit projectiles en masse
but man do i hate the homing function of the dusas
with the need to charge attacks on bow, you can hardly attack any more when dusas are combined with other enemies

Bow takes a bit of practice and timing/muscle memory for the dash attack-power shot routine, but once you get the hang of it, that's all you'll do with bow and it's quite effective!
I'd say of all the weapons, the bow is the most technically challenging to pull off, but also the most rewarding when you do

Anyway, now I've figured out the spoiler tags;
@solar coral - I high, high, highly doubt we'll see a whole new zone this quickly after the last one, I imagine we'll see a new God, weapon, more room designs for the current levels, or enemy type, hopefully a selection of the above in the next update and finally see Elysium a few months down the line,
As for what it'll look like: I honestly have no idea, considering how they handled the last one
Spoilers ahead for the second zone: || I mean, Asphodel is meant to be a beautiful expanse of green fields and meadows, occasionally broken up by the various rivers of the underworld and the odd lake, but in game, it's just a fiery hell-scape... ||
|| Granted: they justify it by saying it was flooded by the river Phlegathon (AKA: the river of fire) so they're not just spitting in the face of the original descriptions of Tartarus, Asphodel and Elysium, || however: in order to maintain a sense of escalating steaks, they'll presumably contrive a reason to make it even more treacherous and hostile than the previous two
That's just the kind of compromise you have to make when your character is fighting their way up and OUT of hell, rather than fighting their way down into its deepest and darkest depths
Personally though: I'd love it if they did make it look beautiful and idealic, as it's meant to, just to create an effective contrast with Zags mood at that stage of the journey and the fact we'd ostensibly be fighting some of the greatest soldiers and warriors Greece has ever had, since Elysium is reserved for heroes and other extraordinary figures (and sometimes their families but whatever, I don't wanna slice up any innocent women or children, thanks)

It's easy to forget, since modern religions are all pretty much mutually exclusive (only one can be true) that, for much of history:
People didn't typically argue "My God's real, your God's fake"
Rather, it was closer to "both our God's are real but mine is better than yours so nah nah nah nah!!~"
So which afterlife you went to would depend on where you're from, what God('s) you worshipped and where you died

i dont know if its just me, but compared to the spear and shield, i really reallllly dislike the sword. i dont know what exactly is the reason tho. is it just that its underpowered or is it something in its playstyle? thoughts?

If i had ti guess, its because the sword has the highest risk involved in its use. You have to get in the enemies faces, and with witches and Gorgons... Thats a terrible idea.
The other three weapons all have something that makes them good to use. The Bow has great range and a wide spraying special that combined with reflection can be almost unstoppable. The shield can block almost every attack in the game and boasts impressive damage while also manouvering you across rooms fast while damaging enemies and protecting you, and its special can act as a sniper aimbot of sorts with the right boons. The spear does the least base damage, but also has the greatest base attack speed and impressive range, allowing you to keep enemies at bay (and also has a surprisingly op projectile hitbox, making witches easy to block) while whittling down their health. Its special is... Pretty meh, and i never use its chargeup attack because it takes too long to charge.
If i had to say anything good about the sword, its the special. It can handle basic (and elite with the right boons) numbskulls with ease.
With that over, how can I make a suggestion to the feedback channel? Im not authorised to comment there and im wondering if I just haven't been in here long enough or if there's another requirement.

I personally wasn't a fan of the sword either until I tried out a few Daedalus upgrades - specifically the ones that change its attack. either the one that attacks faster but removes the thrust, or slower but does +400% damage. both are much more fun than the base sword combo, IMO

the rapid attack upgrade for the sword combined with Zeus attack boons makes for a really cool light show.
the world splitter upgrade for the sword plus Broseidon boons makes it feel like you are using a baseball bat to slam enemies into walls on the other side of the room.

Poseidonโs boons can still be useful against the bosses. I once got a knockback plus 84% damage increase on the attack, with a few poms it was at 114%. It just absolutely melted the boss

I am Greek and have spent an extensive amount of time reading mythology ๐ The most widely accepted theory about Zagreus is being the son of Zeus, and in a way Hades, as Zeus' katachthonius. The theory that he's the son of Hades came from Gantz and is considered a misinterpretation of Aeschylus by archeologists and historians.
