In hades 2, it is easier to build a very OP build because you can unlock the arcana cards very easily
Not entirely correct (there is a provable difference in average boon-strength and-viability in hades 2, depending on the boon up to double the strength of those in hades 1), and the parts that are need some nuance. The essentials in hades 1 (source of regeneration, defiances, extra dash) can be unlocked very early and for the most-part (other than 3rd defiance) very cheaply, it's just the stuff that buffs zag's build chances (rerolls, rarity-buffs) that get unlocked only at the very bottom of the mirror.

and the weapons are a lot better than the Hades 1 ones
somewhat disagree with this? It is definitely true that hades 1 has more variance in aspect-strength than the second game does, and there are therefore about a third of stinkers. the difference between beowulf and gilgamesh is more notable than that between any two hades 2 aspects.

however, hades 1 also has a higher peak in aspect-strength than hades 2 does:

• all of the shield aspects have unconditional block
• several hades 1 aspects can usually end up getting enough damage to 1shot every enemy (and close to 1shot every boss). in hades 2 one can do that too, but it's mostly locked behind a specific keepsake (which I will not name since we are in a hades 1 channel); that's proof of that keepsake's strength, less so the aspect's.

all in all, I'd argue aspects strength is about equal, hades 2 just has less really bad aspects. the stuff that will help zagreus get a build together is mostly focused in the bottom half of the mirror, and the boons in hades 2 are up to twice as strong as their hades 1 counterparts.

Different fish grant different rewards, the higher level you fish the best quality, the best being the surface, where you can get real life fish like trout

hades 2 artificially limites you with eris though lol, but i also think hades 1 metaprogression is atleast onpar or even a bit less grindy than hades 2

in 2 you have to unlock the archana get grasp and that dust + misc stuff to upgrade the cards

in hades 1 you can just minmax what you want to upgrade with the same one material

Vintage Nectar Bug?

I collect nectar upon completing a chest fight, it won't grant me a boon upgrade. This is correct because it's not a room reward.

But please explain me this...

If I collect a nectar after picking Dios Premium Vintage boon, a random boon will be upgraded...

WHEREAS if Sunken Treasure of Poseidon will offer a nectar, no boon will be upgraded.

Troves do not count as a "room" reward per se, it's a trove reward. 👍

Sunken treasure gives the resources at random, and the game doesn't check if the contractor upgrade for each resource is unlocked. I think this is intentional too to prevent people from getting way too much health / money / rerolls / poms from that boon alone

tldr I assume it's an intentional quirk that should have been documented in-game but wasn't.

depends on two things:

• have you taken damage since last time the save icon appeared? if so, you can press the "QUIT" option in the pause menu to quit without being reset to the house from before the run.
• if the game unexpectedly closes (crashes), the game will reload the current room, regardless of if you took damage previously.

You first need to get a dialogue of chaos by talking to them with any of the shields, after that then chaos can give the waking phrase

• on all three non-gilga fists, special is a handy tool to kill some specific tartarus (and sometimes asphodel) enemies faster (optimizations called "breakpoint"s).
• on demeter, special is an integral part of the aspect's damage, though it still for the most part plays like any other non-gilga fist
• talos uses the first part of the special (the magnet) at every rotation, but only almost never the full special. mostly plays like any other non-gilga fist.
• gilgamesh uses maim (from dash-uppers) on healthy enemies for the global damage buff. one can also pick up room rewards faster by pressing special and interact about at the same time at the end of a room.

in no case is to my knowledge the special the main form of damage though.

Zeus has one standard attack rotation (special -> block and wait .5 seconds or so -> bullrush -> recall special during the bullrush so you collect it -> repeat in the other direction), using that rotation at least you are incredibly safe as long as you're blocking/rushing the right way.

the heat system isn't completely balanced around metagame upgrades. yes, keepsakes and aspect level are important to doing well in heat, i will agree with you on those
but imo other upgrades, mainly the mirror, doesn't correlate to heat balance. imo the mirror exists for players starting out the game and learning the game. ofc having the mirror makes it easier to get your first few clears and higher heats, but that doesn't mean the heat system was balanced around that. the heat system has a lot of options to add replayability to the game and to give options for 32 heat (which is the highest expected from a normal player). i only made the generalization that the heat system is balanced around 40 bc 32 is the expected, and 40 is basically the limit of taking not horrid pacts, and there's still a good bit of wiggle room with pacts still

essentially yes, metagame progression obviously helps with heat, but the heat system isn't balanced around metagame progression

it just adds replayability and makes runs different and more difficult bc at some point, the game will be too easy if you play for a bit

There is a link pinned in the #self-promotion channel. The mods you’re mentioning exist, you can find them in the speedrunning modpack and the hypermodded modpack although if you mix and match it’s no longer leaderboard legal but you’ll achieve the desired effect.

It's just that after having played the game so much (already beat 32 heat) i am getting really tired of how little control i have over how the run is going to go, leading to a lot of resets or failed attemps until i get the desired build.

Yea it’s a common occurence which led to the creation of the speedrunning modpack, it’ll remove a lot of the rng and frustrating elements but you still cant force second god or second hammer. It might be enough since it leads to more rolls on average and all your attempts start as viable runs. If you need more control you can use some of the mods from the hypermodded pack or just use it all. You’ll get control over hermes, second hammer, second god and even wells if you want to get broken builds

Yea understandable, it is an annoying duo to get. Make sure you meet the requirements as they are abit restrictive unlike other duos. If you are playing on fists you’re basically locked into the Athena special to unlock the duo. You can also check some other builds that don’t rely as heavily on duos but still dish out tons of dmg.

the keepsakes, godpool mechanic, rerolls and rarity-buffs are your tools for increasing your odds of getting at least most of what you want. if you're not getting what you want by the end of the game, you're most likely doing something wrong, though I couldn't tell you what without seeing gameplay-footage.

if you have that god's keepsake equipped, it'll in fact keep appearing as long as you have the keepsake on and haven't taken a boon from that god yet.

with the keepsake. if you chose a keepsake of a god thats already in the pool, then you just gurentee your first god

unless, the game desides after you leave the house. to which then, maybe it factors in what keepsake you picked (god-sake) and then doesnt pick a duplicate?

you know how when you 'give up' instead of the game rolling a new seed, it rolls a roughly similar seed, giving you all the same rolls on your hammer and boons, but not always the same door rewards

so the run is already, in 1 way, predetermined. I was suggesting that maybe the game decided the gods for you before you leave the house,

I also thought if it did select 4 gods at the start (which it doesnt), maybe it would not pick whichever one you keepsaked (which is irrelevant cause the previous thing isnt true)

this isn't true either, the seed changes every time you change room. one can also manually call the rng function multiple times by doing actions (which the seeded folks call "increments") that use it to advance through the rng function's outputs to get to the one one wants, before every chamber where manips are required
