Also take Poseidon dash, it’s great

Sounds like the other side of my coin. My run felt pretty bad (lost a DD on lernie), lost my last DD on Hades and played super passively then and won closely (not super close though). And it was also a 6 heat run, but my second ^^

Hades 2 has slower animations on average than hades 1 aspects do, hades 1 makes up for that by making dashstrikes - a mechanic that takes away one's iframes as soon as it gets activated - central to the attack-rotation of every single aspect
Either way one has to think about what one is doing in advance.

you still get massive damage but you can run infernal soul and not have to wait 5 seconds for your casts to drop like with trippy shot

Trippy shoot is usually worse because you have to either run inferal soul and have 3 casts but then you have to wait a full 5 seconds after you cast to get your stones back, or stygian (recharge cast stones in 3 seconds) and make your build require more rng
because now you want cast stones and cast damage
The latter is usually the more effective option

The leading cause of dissatisfaction with bow is standing-striking-itus. It's the bane of new players picking up bow for the first time.
Symptoms of standing-striking-itus may include:
- Feelings that bow isn't a fast enough weapon
- Emotional (and physical damage) due to your attacks getting interrupted by enemies
- Feelings that bow has "low damage output"
Is what's happening to me normal?
It's very common for first time bow users and even long term Hades fans to experience standing-striking-itus. Roughly 1 in 3 Hades players will experience it within their lifetimes. It can be a long-running, persistent illness if left untreated.
How do I treat standing-striking-itus?
Start dash-striking when you use bow. Dash striking on bow acts just like a regular strike, but it charges 50% faster, and deals 66% of the base damage.
This allows bow to play far more aggressively, thanks to increased mobility and decreased gaps in damage. Dash strikes also benefit from dash-strike damage boosts, sourced from Artemis's Hunter Dash, and Chaos's Lunge boons, allowing for even higher damage scaling. When you wrap everything up, you end up with a safer, faster, and higher damaging package than what you had before, and this is usually sufficient treatment for 95% of standing-striking-itus sufferers.

Btw yes... sort of. Saving the dash for when it is strictly necessary to iframe attacks is one of the major recommended skills to learn for fresh file heroes and dad.
Optimally one wants to keep track of when dad can do his next attack (every attack sets a different global dad attack cooldown), and try to make the combo line up with these timings. Watching other people do the fight might help you understand the timings.
In other news, not every dad attack necessarily requires a dash:
- thrusts can be avoided by circling dad at sufficient distance without using a dash
- dad will usually miss if you are close enough to him
- use the center two pillars to your advantage. Not only do they block any non-spin attack, but they also block dad's ability to move towards zag during a spin, and also can mess with dad's pathfinding (to help stall out time to recharge the legendary by running in circles around a pillar).
- in phase 1.3 onward, dad gains the ability to cast up -> cast down -> thrust. If you never go directly north of dad, you can easily distinguish this attack from a regular cast. Also, if you press special after the second cast of this attack gets done, the special will reliably deflect the thrust.
- in phase 2.2, I would recommend clearing a small zone from green pots so you don't get checkmated if a cast explodes the pot while dad is lasering.

some aspects are significantly better at not coming to harm than others. the best among these are Hestia rail, Eris rail, Rama bow and probably Hera bow? The shields are all fine too.
there should be some builds in #h1-builds-and-combat to give you an idea what to run on these aspects, if need be.
other handy boons to pick up include (but are not limited to) zeus' Static Discharge, Zeus' + Artemis' Lightning Rod 🟩, as well as Greatest Reflex from Hermes, Hyper Sprint from Hermes, and Rush Delivery from Hermes.

here's a short snippet of a dadfight using methods I expect people to know how to use (the sword rotation can be difficult on some control schemes, so this attack -> dash rotation - called "empty-dashing" - can be used to keep better control of Zagreus).
look at the positioning during the fight, and how much time passes between each given dad attack (and hence, how many of these empty dash cycles one can do). for the time being, count the cycles you're doing, when the amount enters muscle memory it'll be easier to learn positioning or do flashier stuff.
if you want a short recording with only the regular sword combo I can quickly record that as well.

Guan Yu can be very difficult at first because of how attack timings are just ever so different to miss up the muscle memory and because of how it practically multiplies the damage you take
a little trick that i find very nice is casting the circling attack against a wall in a way that will make it go through the enemy, bounce off the wall and make it go back to the enemy, providing you with more damage and heals

Few things I'm seeing:
- instead of attempting to flee dad whenever he spins, try to dash at the right time to i-frame it instead. There are several situations where outpacing dad won't cut it, such as when you are in a corner of the arena with dad walking towards you. For the dash at 1:52 you had the right idea, but were a bit early on doing it.
- walk more perpendicularly to dad instead of walking the opposite way the thrust is happening. The idea is to make him lock on to a particular spot, then move away from that spot, causing him to miss.
- if you decide to dashstrike, avoid doing so too late. By "too late", I mean the times where zag crawls to a halt after it. In this case, it's important to have control over zagreus when necessary. It's also important to try to avoid when doing full sword combos, as it's oftentimes more efficient damage-wise to just start a new rotation (attack->special, usually) than to go through a full delayed dashstrike.

Yeah definitely not
It’s a great boon (my top 3 fav maybe even) but it’s not good on everything
Namely, it’s not good on non-heavy-knuckle fists, as well as non spread-fire and non-hestia rails.
The base damage of these weapons is so low that a crit barely does anything
So someone like Zeus (or Dionysus), who apply flat damage instead of a multiplier, is usually a better choice

Unless it's something like nem with merciful end + deadly reversal + zeuscall-smair + lightning rod + splitting bolt
Which is 5 shinies, all of which are contributing significant damage
(Don't aim for more than 2 duos though, it's not remotely close to reliable)

No actually get all possible duos, getting an extended godpool in tartarus (using midshop boon -> boon right after shop) forcing a new god after every biome and getting all the required replacements

Remind me if I'm wrong, but I've just been thinking how much of a beast charon must have been while playing aspect of charon axe in hades 2 and suddenly had a flashback to actually fighting him in hades 1
