A shield throw would be a challenge, to get right direction. Maybe aim assist, so that the shield corrects its trajectory on the fly to hit something close to the original path

Haha indeed! Personally I like chaos shield, hera bow and beo with aphro/dionysus casts and mirage shot! Also eris with dionysus attack! And liked Arthur too with shackle! I want to try more fun builds! Oh yes also Achilles spear with hunting blades was nice too

it being a shield gets access to charged shot, which makes the bull rush a piercing shot with 80 base damage, which already makes it extremely strong. it's part of the reason why shield is so good (zeus doesnt want this for heat but it's good for speed)
in general, cast builds (on the right aspects) are typically pretty strong, since with proper scaling and builds it can have insane damage. for example, achilles can get a 150% damage boost to say hunting blades, which can basically play the game for you
mirage shot is bugged on flares (all beowulf casts and trippy flare on hera) to deal 100% damage instead of 30%, so you can blow up rooms pretty fast with flood flare, which has a massive aoe
also being a shield you get a lot of safety from blocking

doing runs with with diferent weapons. each heat lvl with each weapon are 2 bloods +1 ambrosia that can be traded for blood... but if you didnt maxed all npcs relationships or maxed meg pet i suggest to save ambrosia for now
also some challenges in the book of your room rewards you with a lot of blood

Nyaanyaa's Guan Yu Guide
Generally on Guan Yu, the hammers you want are Charged Skewer > Quick Spin > Massive Spin > Serrated Point. Breaching Skewer and Serpent Wing also alright. And Breaching Skewer becomes top priority for the second hammer if you have Charged Skewer already.
Charged Skewer shortens the startup of Guan Yu's Special a whole lot and lets you hold your Special for up to triple base damage.
You'll want Heartbreak Flourish or Deadly Flourish ideally, anyway, for the high % damage. Guan Yu's Special has 45 base damage, piercing, and wide AOE. Anything with % damage is good on Attack except Tempest Strike is unorthodox and requires fully leaning into Poseidon to make it work (though it can be effective and fun).
For optimal DPS, you're either doing Special > Dash-Strike x2 or Cast > Dash-Strike x2 with Guan Yu. Cast for single-target, Special when you can hit multiple enemies with it (or if you have Charged Skewer). And just your Special and reposition if it's enough to one-shot things (which it often is if you have Charged Skewer).
There are two ways to charge the spin: from a normal Attack and from a Dash-Attack. 99% of the time you want to charge from a Dash-Attack. And there are three ways to release a spin: let go of Attack, Dash, and Dash-Attack. Letting go of Attack is the safest method and how you want to release it most of the time. It's also usually the best method for keeping the spin on your enemy. Releasing with a dash gives you i-frames and a lot more range for the spin, but it travels faster. You mainly use that to quickly escape a situation or to throw your spin at very far-away enemies. And releasing with a Dash-Attack gives you the extra range that a Dash gives but without any of the i-frames, but the benefit is that you can immediately charge a new spin. This method is the most aggressive and best for DPS, and it can keep you within the Deflect spin if you happen to use Divine Strike.

Fiery presence, cthonic regen, death defiance, greater reflex, boiling blood, infernal soul, deep pockets, thick skin, family favourites , dark foresight, gods pride, fated persuasion

Cthonic extremely consistent, meaningful hp regen where dark regen is almost always little to nothing inconsistently or a huge chunk when you already have a fountain immediately after a boss fight
Death defiance > stubborn defiance (for now).
If you are consistently getting through most regular rooms without dying, death defiance is your friend (for now), extra lives against bosses tend to become more important (for now)
Greater reflex > Ruthless reflex.
You have a better shot at avoiding damage by just having a second dash rather than relying on the 50% chance post nearmiss, and a 2nd dash is a dps double on 90% of weapons alongside the extra mobility and positioning potential
Boiling Blood > Abyssal blood
because killing enemies faster is a great form of defence, and it’s a minor time commitment to cast that will greatly reduce your time spent in the tankier fights
Infernal Soul ≈ Stygian soul.
Unless you’re using a castpect, then you want to use infernal soul unless your casts last >3s (trippy shot, trippy flare, dem cast)
It’s personal preference whether or not you want to be able to shoot 3 or just have 1 recharge you don’t have to chase on weapons/aspects that aren’t cast focused
Deep pockets > Golden Touch
Money early >>> money later.
Tartarus is the place to solidify your build, and so being able to make purchases from tartarus shops is super valuable. You also want to spend money soon after you get it to get the most value as possible, with the exception of holding out for 500 obols on a 3rd hermes from styx or well items
Thick Skin > High Confidence.
High confidence probably won’t ve doing much for you for now, so I’d just take thick skin so you survive longer. High Confidence is useful for speedrunning but right now you’re just trying to figure out Hades at all & that damage boost isn’t going to get much mileage this early
Family Favourite > Priviledged Status.
Family favourite is immediate, and applies to every hit, and isn’t even that much lower then priv status when you hit your 4 olympians + hermes
where priv status only applies after 2 different status curses, meaning the enemy has to survive 2 hits and have 2 different status curses in your build for it to be viable
works with hangover builds & that’s about it
Dark Foresight > Olympian Favour.
Dark Foresight may be unclear in what it does, but essentiallt what it does is increase your odds at seeing gold laurel rewards (in-run boosts and upgrades), and decreases the odds of seeing blue laurels (out of run currency) by the same amount
This upgrade is stupid powerful
having loads more boons, obols and hearts goes a lot farther than 20% rare chance
Gods Pride > God’s legacy.
Duo boons are plenty common as is, rarity on your important boons (and particularly chaos and hermes) goes a long way
This is build dependent but typically even duo reliant builds take god’s pride for the rarity boost
Fated Persuasion > Fated Authority.
Hermes alone makes rerolls super valuable. Throw in chaos as well, and you’ve got a deadly arguement for persuasion. And then you remember that you could theoretically use the rerolls to reroll regular boons, purging pools, and charon wells so monopolise your build

It doesn't really matter too much but I've played with both and I think Vulkan is better. It feels smoother in a way I can't really explain, to the extent that it might be placebo. Either way the difference is negligble.
