-Started Zues keepsake - picked up 2 Zues boons
-Swapped Hermes for rest of the run, only picked up 2 other gods for total of 3 gods (not including Hermes)
I was trying to limit my boon count so I could keep my pom options limited to boons that synergize.
I had 4 boons that could be pommed. I had leveled up my special to 6 before picking up the 4th pommable boon. After that
-I didn't see zues again on my run
-Got 13 poms that gave the exact three options for leveling, without showing my special again.
Is there some mechanic of showing boons or gods that I missed here? I normally would just chalk it up to bad luck (esp not seeing zues after i dropped the keepsake) - but 13/19 poms showing the exact 3 out of 4 boonable poms seems. Excessive. Am I just unlucky in game as I am irl?

You receive something but it's always insignificant basically
Except maybe gold amount found.
But even then it's like 5 obols on 100 on average
You get 1-10% of a random buff, or a buff that does nothing
It's still fun to take as a sort of blessing on the run or whatever. Lands on your attack in an attack build or whatever.
The movement speed buff also cant really be ignored with rd
At the very least with other sources like ichor, it adds up.
But yeah dont worry about it too much. You'll unlock it eventually. You arent missing some hidden strong feature.

Soooo, thanks to you guys and the very informative video, I have just tried my first speedrun run :D I tried to go for a Splash Nem build and got to Theseus in 11 mins which is about half the time I usually need to get there. Buuut then I died there. I took "health is a resource, so use it" a little too seriously xD but this was a lot of fun, I'm gonna try it again in a second
