GY can do some solid spin builds that arent memes at all. You could do a Heart Rend build. Aphro attack Artemis special. Ideally Hunter Dash I guess. Hammers can vary a lot and you can adjust accordingly and just dash strike instead of spin, but generally you really want Charged Skewer.
The spin builds usually more come into play if you get Quick Spin
Massive works too apparently but it's been a while. Avoid the unique one that just extends spin travel length and duration.

Use the adamant rail. If you get Rocket Bomb and Cluster Bomb on it, you become a literal god. It makes light work of all bosses and is AMAZING for AOE

They're both decent options, Tidal Dash can be tough to play around because of the knockback. And Athena is always good, on Zeus shield tho, you're almost always safe once you get used to blocking and bullrushing

But in the end it all depends on the build and how the runs goes, if you happen to get a lot of the stuff I mentioned early on in the run, you'll have a lot of stuff that wants poms.
I suggest you read what Baj was talking about in that link I sent earlier so you can pilot the build well. Since I can't help much with that given my limited Zeus experience.

Cheesiest build is using the zeus shield, getting reflect on the spinning blade, then just throw it into a corner and stand behind it blocking as every single enemy walks into the spinning blade and dies and nothing can hit you.
