A bit of silly is good for grimdark works imo. If you make the mood depressing all the time it'll just tire out the audience, and feel less invested in the outcome. Use uplifting, or funny scenes to lighten things up. The contrast will heighten the impact when realdeal happens

i found a book on russian grammar and i gotta say not a fan of how many dang declensions there are

why do nouns have different declensions based on whether or not they're animate

For me the most annoying part about declensions is that when you count something it changes but at least it's repeating after 19

In english it's just if the number doesn't end on 1 and not eleven you make it plural iirc but in russian it's if it ends on 0 or numbers 5 through 19 it's one form, if it ends on 1 it's another form, and if it ends on 2, 3, 4 it's a third form, and then it fortunately loops from 20 and up because every next ten numbers end on numbers 0-9 except every single ten numbers in a hundred numbers that end in 10-19

probably they finally got some serious support at some point. that would also explain why they didn't put the game in Steam in russia, using local platform VK Play instead

i've worked as an educator before and i can that's like, really not true. the state of education, at least in america, does have an immense amount of problems. and bad teachers result in bad learning. but like none of my grade schoolers would be able to teach themselves to read on their own. the high schoolers i've worked with couldn't teach themselves chemistry. learning on your own is a great supplement and really important but just that, or even mostly that, won't teach anyone anything.

school also serves a social function, kids can be mean, things can be messed up, but you won't learn how to interact with people without actually interacting with people

lack of motivation makes things a lot harder to learn but like, wanting to learn things super bad doesn't necessarily mean you'll learn them well or easily or even have like more than a surface knowledge of things

like file structures and stuff

chemistry, all science and math, is more than just memorizing equations or formulae. it's about what it means. what historical context do these things have? how have they changed how people thought? how did something being discovered or invented in its time affect that time period?

here the social interaction in am average school is often does more harm than good not all the time but they really are miserable
But also it could be different in america, russians are probably less kind on average and our propaganda machine is way stronger and it lowers consciousness of people a lot

Like, don't get me wrong, I think that teachers mentors and research librarians are all great services, I just think you're doing highschoolers dirty on their ability to self teach if they wanted to

my point is a lot of things require guidance of someone who really knows what things mean

Hell if I had motivation I realistically could have complete all of 6 remaining grades of school in one-two years when I was 12 I am pretty sure at that, school program could be much faster and easier if done differently

It's just the education system isn't built on learning more so on memorization

but it's not necessarily "stupid" it is people who don't have like, proper literature comprehension. like sometimes stupid is some being an absolute fool and sometimes stupid is someone wasn't taught something or taught something properly.
