it may run but that doesnt mean its a good fit yet, may take a little adjusting of text size to be readable and a few other minor things potentially.
I would not expect transistor to get optimised for the steam deck
If it does awesome get optimised for it, awesome. If not that's fine too
does transistor have a 16:10 ratio?
that game has 1680x1050 so it should fit the steam deck
[Endgame Spoilers]]
The ending of Transistor was wonderfully bittersweet and uncertain in its light-touch implication of what happens next. It has left me with a burning desire to know what happens next, which I think can only be resolved by writing a story about it.
Would anyone here be interested in helping me brainstorm what life(?) is like inside of the transistor? I want to explore all those fascinating characters we know only through obituaries, the awkward fact that the entire Camarata might be in there too, and the consequences of all the traumatic events of the game.
|| i think it'd be so big in there that it's a miracle red found her boyfriend, and they'd live their country life in the golden fields until one day royce stumbles in... ||
i always wondered what exactly was ||inside the transistor.|| how much of it is formed by a person’s mind, and how much of it is “real?” evidently everyone uses “going to the country” as a euphamism for leaving the reality of cloudbank in some form, which suggests that the ||countryside in the transistor would look the same to everyone|| but within that… ||could you create a house? a barn? would distance mean anything or could you merely will yourself to the location of another person?|| for that matter, ||can you even see other people if you don’t already have a close connection with them, as is the case with Red being only able to hear Boxer?|| i…have more questions than solid imaginings
||I’d figure the country would look how the person would imagine it to look like, or they’d just flat out cease to exist. Like a delete from recycling bin kinda thing.||
||I know we get the scene where Red and dude are in a literal countryside, but I’d figure it was one way to represent that they’re together now “in spirit” as opposed to literal||
But also
||game is purposefully vague enough to leave a lot of stuff to interpretation||
Hey guys check out this tattoo I got recently! I love her so much
https://twitter.com/jodesvdb/status/1497719731406749697?s=21
Thank you!
oh wow!
||A confrontation with Royce is definitely one of the most interesting ideas.||
||Questions are wonderful because they create new worlds of speculation! I like the idea of the world being somewhat theoretical in nature? Or rather, you traverse it differently than you traverse the real world. It's kind of a 'what's it like to be an AI' question. What is movement like when you're a function in a filesystem. What's perception like when you're looking at memory? I figure they'll perceive a lot of things in terms of space and physical objects, because that's how they understand things and it makes for more relatable writing, and probably make places that simulate the real world because that's comforting. But someone who knows and engages with the digital world as it is might have a tactical edge (cough Royce).
I VERY much like the idea of communication being limited by connection, because that makes being trapped in there more tragic. Like, I think Lillian and Maxamilias can talk, but maybe no other Traces. And it also makes Red a potential point of connection because she's very good at inspiring emotional connection with her singing.||
||I freaking adore how vague the game is. It trusts us so much to interpret and guess and come to our own conclusions. The artistry of the game is nicely parallel to the artistry of Red's songs, which are also very easy to interpret in lots of different ways. You can find a lot of what you personally are looking for in them.
I like the idea that the appearance of the inside of the Transistor is based on people's perception of it. Red and Unknown might see it as more physical, whereas Royce, for example, might have more of a sense of it as a digital space.||
Just got on and saw there's new messages...
I haven't finished the game yet and I can't read anything here lol
You got this!
i need challenge run ideas
and no all limiters isnt hard enough when i can one turn() most bosses
1 function
oh god
you asked for challenge runs :P
I would suggest no turn(), but that's more of a slog than a challenge in most cases
i tried it myself and honestly it just turns the game into a slower hades
yea
2 functions might be more interesting than 1, to try and maximize your synergy
breach and cull
...fair

Only run uncommon actives like ping and get?
I use ping on active a ton
Slap jaunt on it and whatever else you want and it becomes a great get off me tool
oh here's another one, every time you reach a terminal you need to completely swap your loadout
probably needs to be done on a || Recursion() || though
i just googled her and yes shes pretty
1-mem functions only? 🤔
change the positions of your functions?
so, you like to blip around the battlefield with jaunt? well too bad: you can't use jaunt in a primary slot for the duration of the game
in looking for lore, i used functions in ways i never would have used them otherwise, which made for new strategies and an interesting playthrough overall. but if you're used to mixing and matching and don't stick to a favoured build, this challenge probably won't apply for you
How about you can only deal damage with a single function every turn()
And not outside of turn()
You can do other stuff as long as you don't deal any damage
For a bonus challenge, don't use void()
Camerata functions only 😝
My Brain: You're hyperfixating on Transistor again
Me, blasting the soundtrack and simping on Royce: I have no idea what you're talking about
Tap isnt strong
Only strong thing about tap is people's teeth after having water that's been in contact with fluoride, and even then it's a very small difference
like it does small damage, long cooldown, barely any regen from it
i only remember pairing void with tap and whatever the one that did corrosive dmg or something
corrosive?
do you mean a damage over time?
Purge()
I agree
english is also the language that birthed Antidisestablishmentarianism and Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
Antidisetablishmentarianism
antidisestablishmentarianism was F U N K Y
English be like: Lead is pronounced like Read but not pronounced like Lead because Lead is pronounced like Read
Antidisrestablishmentarinaism
Antidisetablishmentarianism
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
Oh ok, btw whats your opinion on the historical movement known as Antidisestablishmentarianism?
and what is your opinion on Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis?
idk what this also dont ping me
If you are to continue this please go to #off-topic-discussion to do so @simple quail
My sincerest apologies, i shall not stray into the topic of the historical movement of antidisestablishmentarianism nor the complicated subject of Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.

[Please do not take my use of the full long words negatively, I just prefer to type them in full]

ikr
Me listening to "The Spine": Y'all, I swear I am not hyperfixating
Okay, speaking of "The Spine," I am highkey considering either singing it or making a dance choreography to show to my uni's next open mic
Whether or not I am flexible enough to do the choreography that I have in my head is...questionable lmao
Hella! Sounds sick
God, I need to work on my flexibility again if I do choose the dance route. Let's say it requires a lot of back movements, particularly surround the twisting of the torsos because spine. And yes, that is all intentional lmao
That would be so amazing
If I ever pull this off, I'll see if I can take a video, haha
sick, I've been wanting to do some SG-related choreography myself
I dont know if I'm missing something with this game, but I have never sucked so much in any other game. any tips?
-
Don't be afraid to take quite some time planning in Turn mode (and the Undo is your friend)
-
Regarding Limiters, I only activate them one at a time (and only when I need to analyze/inspect the Limiter). You may opt not to use them
-
Personally, i LOVE Jaunt(). Makes escaping the Processes' clutches easier especially when out of Turn mode
Hope that helps!
Is turn mode when you freeze time?
This is going to sound ridiculous but I have no idea what limiters are and most of my attacks are broken because I died so many time
Somehow I can't jump when I'm in battle (even though I can do it out of battle) and my only 2 attacks left are both projectile slow attacks that leave me open. And very often when I try to use them they don't work. I'm not sure if there's a cool off or something
Also the character move really slowly and I can't really get out of attacks with my dash broken so right now I'm literally having problems even with just the most basic enemies like you have no idea
I'm okay when I have the freeze time thing on but when it's cooling down after I use it I just die
If you dont have Jaunt available dont use all of your turn bar to attack, left some to move away from whatever enemy you are near (if possible behind a wall)
The enemies that shoots the long beam can be avoided by just circling them around a wall/obstacle till your turn is up
If with jump you mean the action where Red throws the sword and catch it in the air thats just an emote for fun
Tho knowing what attacks you have left will be nice you mostly need to practice enemy dodge (or at least endure till a new savepoint for recovering dash)
Yo Purrito, which part of the story are you currently on?
I just crossed the bridge I think, I'm at this room with a tree and it has a ball that you can play with
I'll send some screen shots of my attacks next time I open the game
Oh you already past sybil
I died a lot, it was pretty miserable. So I'm not entirely sure when I will try to play it again (also I pretty much forgot the story) I last played it some time last year before opening it again today
Tbh I have no idea how I made it so far with so little knowledge on how to actually play this game
Might be worth resetting then
Turn() is a core part of the game, you should be using it more or less whenever it becomes available
Whaaa--? No! I'm not resetting my progress
Progress is progress
Does the game really punish that much for dying? I've never heard of any game where you have to reset because you sucked at it
Is mostly to refresh your mind in the story ig
You get your functions back fairly often
I'll just drag it to when I'll get it back orz
I appreciate the help guys but I've never finished a second playthrough of any game and if I reset I know I'll just never touch it again so yea.. Maybe some miracle will happen
Hmm if you want practice the backdoors areas trials helps a bit (the area with the trew and beach ball)
At some point there is also a training area there
But outside of that: experiment with what you have to find what you find powerful
And a basic combo is simply crash into breach
im using a game pad
okay, I just played a bit and there's something really confusing going on, after I attack, sometimes I cant attack again right after? what is happening?
is there really a cool down for those attacks? and if so how do I tell when it's cooling down
You mean after turn? If so yeah the cooldown it depends on how much of the bar at the top you used
I hope this isnt a stupid question but is this game turn based?
You can consider it so, you have your turn through the time pause and is enemy "turn" while you wait for the cooldown
oh I've mainly just been playing it like how I played bastion
Ah
but I did just clear the first time test thing, haha
Turn() is how the time pause is called btw
oh, I do use that too
But yeah using Turn makes the game a lot easier just cause you can kill an enemy without it attacking you in the face
You still can get some value of attacking without turn in some cases
I find having to change my attacks really unintuitive
i mean the key mapping always changing because I lose my attacks as I die
it's so punishing
Oh i still confuse the bindings some times lol
You know you can cancel a wrong move in turn right?
yea
I guess I should use it to do more things
right now I still mainly attack without using turn
Using Turn() to attack is good to learn yeah
Also depends on the enemy cause the Younglady just tp after dmg so cant chain dmg on turn()
I used to read the text/story about my attack characters but it just seem like backstory
If you want the lore yeah, otherwise not needed
But cant get more than backstory from them
btw, are the people that gave you your attacks dead?
Basically
I kindda feel bad when I break the attacks
You arent using the person itself more like info based on their personality/works
like, sorry, you trying to help me with your last dying breath but I just lost it after 5 mins because I suck :'D
oh that's good, at least it's not their spirits I'm using
aw man I really wish red would just move faster
the protag is called red right
Ye
To move fast without turn() you can use either just dash or use the mask() function
It doesnt kncrease the speed but enemies wont detect you so is safe to move and wait to strike again
:'3 (I literally lost those)
Oop
the only reason I still have those projectile attacks is because I never use them
hahahah :'D
Putting breach on a main slot might be worth
Its high dmg + high reach
Crash (first one) is mainly for the debuff it inflicts
Crash+breach/jaunt is something I use
Hello, I was referred to Supergiant Games discord to seek help on getting Transistor to launch correctly from Steam. Does Supergiant Games have any resources to help troubleshoot why their game doesn't launch from Steam? Thank you in advance for your help.
Heyo! There are some things in #h1-tech-fixes for the game not launching that may also work for Transistor. Starting Steam as Admin may also help.
is there any way to delete a save file in transistor? started one 2 years ago, wanted to start anew but the game instantly tosses me into the last save
iirc somewhere in settings you can swap save files
aight, ty
found it ww
pause>settings>save slots
can change to an empty one or reset progress in other
TY!
Finally got my friend down to play Transistor. Got to Sybil and he’s in
just wait for them to repair. life without jaunt is not worth living
literally
My first playthrough didnt use jaunt as primary outside of the start lol
^ same
Well, personally I mostly experimented, didn't take me long to realize that jaunt seems like hell of a deal, but a the same time I just strive to try more diverse combinations
So sometimes it appeared, the other times I omitted it
||cried at the ending song?||
Everyone does
Real ones cry at the beginning song
real real ones cry just hearing the word red
real ones cry
real
R
I'm listening to this song "Stuck on You" by Failure and the riff part sounds similar to "Gateless" in the Transistor OST. Interesting to hear
Real ones cry at She Shines
Hi! Maybe it's a stupid question but I can't find anything on the internet specifying this info. Did Jen Zee make the character portraits for Transistor?
how can i scale the ui down?
What a game indeed
It’s safe to assume
Transistor easily has the best OST in any game imo
It does!!!
I'm wondering if there's a gif or mp4 version of the opening image from the game with the vfx included. I've been thinking of making it or part of it my phone background
https://images.ctfassets.net/5owu3y35gz1g/CjxdOBzyKsSEimQCwqioI/724624fbfbfa0bcda67c185e1c69d768/1407982466399_Transistor_28-aug-2013_01.jpg?w=1920&q=80
I still need to actually finish the game, but for some reason, it won't let me through even though I defeated all the enemies
https://github.com/SGG-Modding/Transistor.Modding I just wrote a modloader for transistor. It's far from donw but it does work
There's probably one cell hiding in the corner or something
Yeah, that's the thing: I looked everywhere!!!
Should I try transistor if i enjoyed hades?
It's a very different game. It's basically a turn based action rpg. I love it and it's fairly short but very different
ok
Short answer: yes
got it
I personally played all the SGG games last year, after playing Hades
They were all great!
Transistor was probably my favorite out of the 3
ok
You should try transistor but not because you liked hades
You should try it but go in with the mindset of "i want to get invested in an entirely New world and characters" and not "i liked hades, so this is gonna be fun"
Enjoying hades doesnt guarantee that you Will enjoy transistor
But yeah you should absolutely try it
Its incredible
ok
has anyone made a 3d model of the transistor
Apart from the small merch models, I think some cosplayers made their own versions (and iirc there was even an official SGG giveaway of one)
So i just replayed Transistor, and after completing it and starting new game + i realised that instead of Transistor ||Royce Bracket|| says the starting voice line. That hit me REAL DEEP. Now I'm confused and kinda frightened jeez. I have a lot of questions.
i mean digital
I have! Was quite a long time ago though. Pretty basic model. https://grabcad.com/library/the-transistor-1
The GrabCAD Library offers millions of free CAD designs, CAD files, and 3D models. Join the GrabCAD Community today to gain access and download!
that looks really good for a simple rendition
I started playing transistor
Now I know where the Elysium spirits inherited their code
Already have triple shot
crash/breach with spark?
the ranged attack with one of the other skills as the enhancer
the game booted into Chinese bc that's my switch language and idk where to change it
prob gonna need to change switch language
I'll keep it for now just for fun
well now i feel like replaying this again
is this game beatable without the freezing time mechanic
yeah it's fun
through all the () stuff makes me imagine transistor API mode where it's kb only and you have to type all the commands
imagining one of those learn to code things where you put in directions for the fella but transistor themed
yeah
Have fun!!!
I believe you can change languages in game, but I don’t know about switch
I can check soon
Also you can definitely play without turn but the game is designed around it, however if you have a powerful enough build you can do it very easily
Yeah especially in recursion you can just use a couple moves and take out basically anything
Not if you have the crippling stupidity of mine which disables proper combo formation
void and a damaging function is always nice
like flood or something similar
i prefer flood since like
i think its damage is decent, and void's defense debuff is nutty
i think so at least
wait not flood
im dumb
i mean tap
tap is the aoe lifesteal one
its damage is decent and the aoe is nice i think
and even though i think the tap lifesteal aint that much with void its pretty good iirc
jaunt is just good
is it important to the story that I cycle through all the skills both as main and support
you unlock more backstory about the characters for using the functions in each slot, but after doing that once for each, you can find your build and stick with it
whee
prefer blue
Is Kendall's VA same as Thanatos
Yes
i.. actually can't remember. i think it's mostly more perk potential and like understanding certain references and foreshadowing stuff you may have missed before
There is only 1 difference right at the start
Also a new trial iirc (as afaik it doesnt open before ng+)
Yeah, besides the new duped functions, you‘ll mostly get more ‚content‘ just by noticing things you haven‘t noticed before
The only added story is the very start of NG+. Everything else is enemy placements and gaining duplicates of functions
Transistor OST but the humming is otamatone
There has to be a otamatone cover or two of the Transistor soundtrack somewhere
Can't find on youtube
....time to figure out how to fill this void
I just want to say thanks to the team that developed Transistor. It's made me cry big tears with fun game play and beautiful art and design and music and ahhh! I've recommended this game to all I know. It's inspired me so much. Thank you. Just thank you.
Found the best Chinese translation in the whole game
so in Chinese, most mechanical objects have 机 as their last character (roughly translating to "machine")
however this character is pronounced the same as 鸡 which means chicken
So these things are "bomber machines" but read the same as "bomber chicken"
it's a very overused pun which means it's great
that's really cool piano
Chinese doesn't miss on dem puns either, eh
we have so many homophones
way too many, so what else is there to do besides make puns all the time
I was doing Performance Test 6 and ended up with a Bounce()+Spark()+Flood() / Get()+Ping()+Jaunt() build. Idea was to use Get() in Turn() to pull the process close together, and then using whatever planning time I had left on Bounce() projectiles, so that then while I waited out my next Turn() I could Get() whatever didn't die to the initial hits back into the lingering Flood() lines that would be all piled up on each other once everything finished bouncing. Passives were Breach(), Void(), Bounce()2, and Mask().
I was nearly finished completing the test, but I decided to sub out one of my passives. (I was using Breach() for more time in Turn(), but had more than enough space to wait out my next because I got Mask(), so I went for Load() which had just shown up that wave.) I was like, "Oh, I can let the Packets generate passively, and then pull them into a big mess of people with Get() while also setting them off. Huge AoE potential, this'll be awesome." Was NOT awesome, I pulled two Jerk 2.0's in on top of me figuring I'd also be pulling like 700 packet damage in their faces, but all I actually did was set off my bombs a safe distance from literally anything else and put two stomping jerks right on me.
Just wanted to share so nobody else has to learn the way I did: Get() doesn't move the Packets around from Load(). (Also I guess I'm making a case to maybe let Get() grab packets? Could make Load() more of a dynamic function, but that probably isn't the spirit of the move. Just beat the game for the first time yesterday and I'm LOVING NG+.)
nah actually i suck i just had to move to the packets and pull em ONTO the bombs lmao
that's the real way
Yeah get() still does dmg so it set any load()
typing the functions out feels so weird to me lol
because some text editors geared towards programming will autocomplete the ) whenever you type a (
Happy 8th Birthday, Transistor!
Happy 8th birthday Transistor! Shout out to one of my favorite games of all time
Such a great gem 🙏
Huge same, happy 8th birthday Transistor!
Happy 8th birthday 🎉 One of my favorite games also. Kinda tempted to do a replay this weekend just to celebrate its birthday.
Happy cakeday Transistor 🎂 , one of my personal GOATs, and most influential as well
happy 8th to transistor!!
Was gonna replay the game for the birthday yet im just sitting in the sandbox playing the ost
Is comfy at least
In honor of this fantastic game’s birthday, played it twice. Only cried a little this time
Wait this game is 8 years old? It has aged beautifly
so i just started transistor
and I dont get it
I've dropped it for now but I don't ... get it.
How am I supposed to play the game Iguess is my question lol
It isnt an RPG and it isnt a roguelite
Use turn() to plan your moves and kill enemies, start dodging while it refreshes
But is that all it is?
You can go combining your functions to get different effects, basic combos like using crash() to debuff enemie then breach() for high dmg, or combining functions to your dash (Jaunt()] to use it in combat, etc
But um... like..how am I supposed to play it?
Attack & dodge?
Hades & Bastion felt similar but htis is lik a real new game
it is in fact a different video game
Haha, yeah, smart butt comment aside, you knew what I mean. :P
Hades & Bastion felt very similar whereas Transistor, which is my 3rd Supergiant game, feels totally different but I don't understadn how to actually play it.
It doesn't have a Roguelite feel like the other two so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to play it, cause it didnt have a tutorial.
tried this glitch so many times and never succeeded it but i finally managed to float yesterday :D
gaming
You don't really have to speak to me with that kind of text tone mate.
you don't really have assume hostility that isn't there mate
It just sounded really cynical. I'm trying to ask politely (albeit, I may be bad at it) for some advice without directly asking for it.
I'm clearly misunderstanding how to play the game or what it's playing is about.
It isn't as free as Hades or Bastion but I don't know if I need to focus on the pause mechanic, or if I can skip it as a whole.
I just don't understand it from a gameplay perspective, that's all.
this guide might help you, if this is what youre looking for
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=266320730
I absolutely love the title of that guide.
its a turn based game, but also the way the turn mechanic works is a bit different than other games in that you can play it entirely in real time if you want with the right builds
So if I'm understanding this correctly, trying to play this game like Hades or Bastion, or in words, without Turn() is a bad idea.
right
That's where I've been going wrong then. I thought it was an alternative game mode.
Sorry if came across that way tone over text is hard
you can do it, but you need strong functions for it
It's absolutely fine. I didn't think it was intentional and I held nothing against you.
Alright, I'll give it another go sometime.
I remember liking Transistor when I was around 16-17 and getting along fine with it then, but It seems newer games ahve changed how I am with it, hehe.
yeah, when i replayed it for the anniversary i was really rusty. but 7 years ago i remember being better at it haha
im also too used to doing everything in real time from my maxed saves
What kind of end game does Transistor have?
like, build wise? you can one shot enemies in turn or you dont need it at all
Does it have super bosses or anything like that?
Transistor
I dont think it has something similar to a super boss
||unless you consider the trial vs Red clone?||
I’m fairly new and I think turn is essential to some strategies and optional for others
I kinda wish there were infinite performance tests because that’s where I feel the game most tests your creativity and function knowledge
Here’s your random assortment, what strat do you see
NG+ is fun but the difference recursion gives is kinda dependent on the player to want to experiment with new strats as they get their function doubles
(But like, who wouldn’t want that)
I used ng+ to finish the lore on the functions i missed
belated happy birthday ❤️
Happy birthday
<@&456908176877551658> sorry to ping but is there anyone that would be willing to help me try to find out why my game isn't launching? I haven't played transistor in a few years, redownloaded and it crashes on startup every time. I've tried verifying game files and starting the .exe in explorer, as well as installing on different drives and having only one monitor plugged in. thanks
Howdy! Might wanna try the contact form on the site? They also have some documentation on troubleshooting on this page too. https://www.supergiantgames.com/contact/
Supergiant Games is a small independent game development studio in San Francisco, known for its award-winning titles Hades, Pyre, Transistor, and Bastion.
if documentation doesn't work tbh you could try asking swan in #h1-tech-support. he may primarily handle hades-related stuff but he's pretty good with the tech questions in general.
oh we love easy fixes lmao
Woo! Glad you got it fixed ^.^
😄
so, this is a bit of an odd request.
I once saw a Stain glass piece based on Transistor some time ago, but have been unable to find it. Does anyone happen to know what I'm talking about?
thats gorgeous
does that scene imply that giant transistors once existed
Whered you get that image?
as far as i know its from the very end of the game
The transistone
Hey, me and a few friends are planning on doing karaoke this weekend, and I was wondering if any of the transistor songs have an instrumental version that would work well for singing over?
i know there’s instrumental versions of most of the voiced songs in the OST. everything except She Shines, i think
I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if She Shines was the exception since that was a bonus song added after the game's initial launch.
I've just started Transistor today and I want to get all trophies in it while avoiding spoilers, are there any missable, difficulty-related or collectable trophies I should be aware of?
there are all of these, sort of
i would advise you to play the game at your own pace for your first playthrough, then focus more on achievements for your second playthrough, it requires a minimum of 2 playthroughs for 100% anyway and its a pretty short game
I got the 10 limiters achievement by recursing for the fourth time and activating them for the early easier enemies lol
Haha, Transistor referenced 0451
did it?
i think red deserves a dog
just give her a puppy after all shes been through
so true
luna erasure
And if one luna isnt enough combine with i think spark() for 2 of them
Yep, a bit before the Spine boss fight there was some "Maintenance Access" room and it said, "Access code: 0451"
The following is a list of references to other games and media found in Transistor: The maintenance access door at the top of the tower district area has the access code 0451. Looking Glass had 0451 as the first entry code in every single game they made, and now the same code appears in games that ex-Looking Glass developers have worked on since...
Oh also dead cells references transistor!
I saw the painting on the wall, went "wait, is that the transistor???", then promptly died because it's dead cells
Not my screenshot but that's what it looks like
woah
Doesn’t even mention the Kid’s hammer in Red’s apartment. Shame, fandom
You could go in and update it :3
Hello, I bought the OST of Transistor on Steam summer sale
But there's only mp3 format
I learned from this page that I can contact SuperGiant Games to get the flac version
Only to receive automated replies from a bot
So I'm here looking for some help
😢
whats wrong with mp3?
It's lower quality
What was the reply you received? And which support option did you select?
which you can't really tell unless you use pretty expensive rigs, but collectors like to have a FLAC copy

all my music i have saved is mp3 and its high quality
@spring plover I believe you've been able to help with these inquiries in the past?
Yeah, you can directly email to support@supergiantgames.com
( @worn leaf )
Yeah a high quality mp3 isn't distinguishable from FLAC unless you have really high end gear and listen in a quiet room
Don't think it should matter?
Fine
hm intereesting!
there might be holes in this analogy but you can imagine CD quality music to be a high res picture. If you don't have space for it, you can save it as a zip file and only open it when you want to look at it, which is what FLAC is (free lossless audio codex) - the track is compressed but no information is lost, and the playback software will un-zip the track when its selected for play back, then zip it back again when it's finished.
If the zip file is still too big you'll have to lower the resolution of the picture, which is to say start throwing away information that was in the original file, which is what MP3 is (ie lossy compression). The bitrate of an mp3 is maybe analogus to the DPI of a picture? basically higher MP3 bitrate is like more pixels in a picture.
oh yeah the bitrate is the number that's like "xxx kbps" where xxx is usually 128, 256 or 320.
The reason why high quality MP3s are hard to tell from FLAC, is that music compression algorithms will prioritize throwing away audio information that's hard for humans to hear (so really high and really low frequencies). More modern methods can even adjust the bitrate to be lower in sections where there's silence / less sound, and higher where there's more sound, so the average audible information is higher (if you see VBR in the file's bitrate, it's using that)
in the picture analogy, VBR is like compressing a picture of a person in front of a plain background. more pixels csn be discarded in the background, so that the person part can have more pixels.
and lastly the audio gear part of the analogy is like, a high res picture and lower res one will look the same if they're both on a flip phone.
the mall im in is currently playing transistor music
Does Transistor have more than one ending? I beat the game last week and got the ||ending where Red decides to live inside the Transistor with her boyfriend instead of rebuilding|| and now I'm playing NG+
no, but some neat things are in ng+
Also, what do corrupted cells do?
I'm really enjoying NG+ using all these limiters
transistor is such a cool concept ngl
That last Speed Test was so much fun
I bought the game digitally on PS4, does this mean I have the OST? I got the OST with Hades but I bought a physical copy
no
Wow... Tap w/ Ping + Spark is OP
My current Loadout:
Passives- Load(), Bounce()
Function 1- Help()
Function 2- Mask()
Function 3- Breach() w/ Flood() + Breach()
Function 4- Tap() w/ Ping() + Spark()
Feels unstoppable
Is there a cap to levelling in Transistor? I just reached Level 24 and it looks like I can continue levelling up
yep
So there's no level cap?
there is
Hello, I received an email responding to my request on Monday from Ellis Powell
Ellis asked which file sharing service is best for me
I replied to that email but there are no emails from Ellis anymore
I wonder if my email was filtered out as spam
Oh, sorry, yes I didn't receive another email - I just double-checked the ticket in our inbox, too, and it hasn't been updated with anything, even an auto-closed message. You can send me a private message here on Discord with your reply!
So... What was the Camerata's actual plan? I get the sense they wanted to ||use the Process to somehow wipe Cloudbank clean while keeping its population alive for a new world order governed by the various people they accumulated with the Transistor?|| But that doesn't really answer how or why ||the Process ended up betraying them||?
Also, why did they attack ||Red when she wasn't alone and why was she teleported along with her dead boyfriend to that random alleyway||?
I'm guessing that's explained by them choosing to ||dispose of all the other people in the same way since we see them shortly afterwards in the same district at the start of the game but... why even bother teleporting them if you're just gonna execute Red right in front of the public, it makes no sense||
||when sword bf intercepted the attack towards red seems like they lost access to it, so at first they still had orders to "recover it" but the more time passed the process just ignored them, they didnt attack her when alone cuz sybil lied about it, most probably to eliminate sword bf (you can see it in the biography of her in game)||
||the Camerata's main motivation is that they felt like Cloudbank was basically pointless since it never stops changing (and they think the people didn't actually know what they wanted)
they were using the Transistor in order to basically skip the need for democratic votes and create something that can actually persist in a constantly changing city, and also integrating people into the Transistor in order to increase what they're able to do with it (which are the functions you unlock)||
||the Process ended up going berserk and resetting everything (I think) because the Transistor accidentally absorbed mr. nobody who uniquely has zero information in his trace||
||they attacked Red alone on accident since Sybil, basically the Camerata's information person, lied to them so that they'd end up killing mr. nobody. it wasn't intentional except by Sybil who had some major unrequited attachment issues to Red. the teleportation is presumably a result of the Transistor malfunctioning and disconnecting from the Cradle after absorbing mr. nobody's trace||
Thanks, that explains everything I was wondering about
where do I go if transistor wont launch and I need help?
a fully 3d transistor remake would be amazing
I need help
How do i save and quit?
There's no option for that
And there's no quit option
Do i have to close the game fully?
I think closing the game in any Way saves your progress
I dont remember what i did when i played
But closing the game fully should work
Also, game saves at access points, the ones where you can change which functions you have equipped.
double damage limiter is fun until jerk 3.0 appears
"Everybody gansta until [Jerk 3.0]"
Is there any reason to ng+? I uninstalled Transistor after beating it. Might play it again if ng+ adds content.
for using more limiters with more skills
Also filling up the character bios
there's also one new voice line, unless I'm forgetting others
Just the one at the beginning
Reason to play NG+ is that you can get a second copy of all the functions
So you can do stuff like Breach(Breach, Ping) for example
You can have funny builds
After careful consideration, I've decided not to reinstall Transistor. Time for my 1,000,000th Hades run
you know what would be better than playing hades for the millionth time? 😁
playing transistor a million times 👍 👍 😁 /hj
