Weird, my very first 2 wins were with aspects I was trying out for the first time, and I didn't even like both of them or had good builds! I think Persephone needs a lot of work but the Skulls are a really good weapon. I think I just beat Chronos because I finally stopped being scared of him 😅 and learned his moves. I think Artemis is a good weapon, the DPS is insane but having to wait for parry is annoying. Again, didn't have a good build but finally learned all of Chronos' tricks! That's the real key to victory

I credit this - my first 2 fear win and my first time beating chronos with more than 0 DDs left (this time I had 2) - to Dark Side + Born Gain (Hera infinite mana boon)

I used Dark Side about 10-12 times in the Chronos fight due to how much mana I was using, and dodged SO many hits through the invulnerability that Dark Side gives you. It did help to be using Momus so I recovered some health using the special bursts too.

Finally did it. Ironically the build was so overpowered that I didn't need any defiance. I found the game to be harder than the first in general, and in particular I think Chronos is significantly harder than Hades. It took me roughly twice as many nights to get a clear as attempts in the first game.

It's probably the best wand build right now. Specials feel so bad without momus, but Poseidon special just makes them straight up broken. You don't need magick, you keep your distance and you get AoE / Crowd Control all in one.

Lord I'm in the 20s on testaments and it's getting to be wild. You could basically upgrade everything you wanted in H1 and stay at relatively low heat (6x weapons, 2x blood per run, plus the originals)....You could get around 11 full weapon upgrades (assuming all fun aspects and not base weapons) before even going past 10 heat

but for pan you can do either pos or aphro and then special spam after placing cast. if you get pos on cast aphro doesn't matter but her cast is king and get ranged cast and hera regen. aphro dash is gold but any dash works. if you do aphro on special get posidon attack then get the duo.

pan also increases knife count on special and auto aim when people in cast

which is why range cast is like almost required

for hammer tho going 6 rock elements and the coarse grit infusion then just smaking cronos and turning the one shot into a 16 is the way to go

i just posted a piece of feedback regarding the difficulty, because i just beat chronos on my first attempt with ease. I'm not bragging any type of skill, because it became really underwhelming when u have a ton of range, dark side (invulnerability every 6 seconds or something with good mana usage), and a boon that literally gives u passive regen, which is kinda crazy even exists in hades. https://imgur.com/a/a8Euozi

The main hard thing about chronos is the one shot and the speed but other than that you can mostly tank him and spam and do a lot of dps and you’re set. If you’re not doing tons of damage quickly he’s harder.

I beat Chronos with a silly powerful build. The fight was over before I even realised. I had four death defiances and burned through two - still had the tooth and the cat defiance available. It was very much just loading a lot of damage onto the omega attack and then having decent cast and specials to fire off on occasion. And a big lot of trying not to die. I am still really not good at dodging the Chr Phase 1 attacks (I really struggle with judging things like the big circular spinny one) and they all hit like absolute trucks. But I'll get better 🙂

What was Explosive Ambush again?

It's a hammer for the twin blades. Max omega attack +400% damage but cost more mana. THat plus level 1 of the aspect that makes it charge faster is pretty much a free run, you just chunk stuff for 600 at a time and never leave slow-mo

It needs some mana support

but this run didn't find any until the shop outside of chronos other than the stuff from arcana and then did fine with a white tranquil gain

It benefits from anything with %damage on attacks and stuff that boosts omega moves but at some point you're gilding the lily

My best version of it probably was Born Gain (hera) for functionally infinite mana, hera's hitch strike and the hera/venus duo that make hitch inflict weak and hitched foes take 20% more damage

but it really doesn't matter, this is the worst version of the build I've ever assembled pretty much (first time I've done it on the down path, I started doing this on olympus path w/ reliable early hammers)

and even if the rest of the build's pretty meh it's still almost unloseable

The other thing about the build is because it uses mana so fast you can use your hex a ton; but it's actually pretty hard to get that to work. I had the reanimate a dead guy one which was actually pretty solid in the chronos fight. The ones that do damage have a weird problem where they get out-damaged by omega x still
