not sure if this is a tech support thing but while I was playing with the argent skull and got the chaos boon that causes decreased move and sprint speed, I started to get significant back sliding like I was on ice skates every time I used Attack. I figure it's an interaction with how the game codes movement and the base kickback of the skull but is it intended?

I'm not sure if it's intentional—the skull does have some kickback by default, but it probably isn't meant to be increased by the slowdown

So I am getting basically a crash at prometheus on PC, right when his dialog starts with "resist all you like, but the age of gods shall end" the game slows to a crawl at like, .1 FPS. The effects for the dialog come super slowly onscreen, and if I wait I can get through to the end of it after a minute or two, but then the game stops responding after. I tried verifying steam files, and restarting my computer. I don't get a game crash, so I can't submit a bug report - it just stops responding. I have submitted a bug report immediately before the dialog starts up, but I can't submit one once the dialog starts.

Drivers are updated. Specs are i7-13700K, 32GB Ram, RTX 3070. I was able to beat prometheus fine before on an earlier version (not sure which, it was a while ago. Prob the one where he was introduced) but I haven't played in months, so I don't know if it was some other update in between that introduced the issue. I vaguely remember running into this before months ago the last time I played, but my memory is fuzzy on that.

I also have steam and geforce overlays disabled, and am running the game in administrator mode.

The upshot of this is my save seems softlocked - whenever I load up the save it loads straight into the bossfight.

Hi, I'm kinda stuck into my last steam achievement (Voice and Vanity), I've got narcissus to go check on echo once, then on the next run he called me a liar (he has his muddy water), and Melinoe mentionned something about the cauldron and a recipe (happened few days ago). But its now like the 10x time i've got to check on narcissus and he's only saying one line before giving me a boon, i've tried to go check echo skipping him, seeing both on the same night, etc, i'm stuck lol (tldr : narcissus recipe does not show up in the cauldron)

It is not the opposite for all the other characters. Many characters can be gifted before or after speaking to them. (However, it is the opposite of Olympian gods and some combat-encounter NPCs.)

Yeah, I tried lowering graphics settings to low, v-sync on and off (also G-Sync on and off), turning off "transmit data", and the other stuff in that post. Issue persists 🙁 . Performance in the game otherwise is perfectly fine generally.

Oh weird. I just reinstalled the game completely and it fixed the problem 🤷 . Not sure why verifying files on steam didn't fix the issue.

Hello, i don't know if my question belongs in tech support but since the release of the EA until now i feel like some ennemies attacks deal damage before the animation plays, it's especially obvious to me with Cronos. I remember i had the same "problem" in Hades 1 with some bosses but in 2 it seems a lot more obvious against some bosses like Cronos and the one on the surface with a gun (forgot her name). Will it be adressed in a future patch or am i just missing something ?

||With Cronos i noticed it's especially obvious when he throws his weapon in the first phase and cut in an arch in front of him, i died to that second attack and on the death screen he didn't start his animation. For other ennemies i noticed it on the thrust of those with a spear and shield in tartarus as well. I need to play more to be sure but i've started playing the gaming from scratch again since yesterday and didn't play since august.||

For the Incantation, Acceptance of Another Fate, I've gotten all the prereq mats, beaten the two bosses more than 7 times each, and the two statues achieved with 16 heat runs on both paths. Do I need to also get the epilouge to unlock it or is a flag bugged for me? Thanks!

I would appreciate if there were some way to aim on a controller using the right analog stick. Currently aim assist is enabled by default on a controller which generally i like on weapons like torches because I like moving away from enemies that I am trying to kill, but it can be really problematic in some fights where the aim assist chooses an enemy I already know is not my target. If I disable aim assist, my attacks are aimed only in the direction I am moving, which makes attacking with precision difficult. If I could aim with the right stick it would help significantly, I know many people play on mouse and keyboard to alleviate this aim issue but I prefer controller.

Hi team, I'm playing Hades 2 on my Switch. Everything's been great until I updated to the latest version 1.0.132876.

My game has crashed twice within the last ~10 runs. It's sad to lose ~1h of progress each crash 🥲 The scenario of when it crashed:

1. Picked a 'blessing' from Narcissus, was about to pick the items, game crashed.
2. Gave a Nectar to Hades/Persephone, dialogue finished, was about to talk to get blessing, game crashed.

I also noticed some instances when the fear target animation is not playing when moving regions. First time I noticed I think it's when fear target is on Scylla/Eris (definitely the second region). The character figure just moves to the region, without the target animation playing. But when the region is finished, the target vanquished animation was played.

It’s probably related to the autosave after you pick up the room reward. The more you play the bigger the save file gets the longer the autosave will take causing a small annoying stutter, thats why you didn’t noticed it when starting playing the game. I have the same problem and have already sent multiple f10 but i dont think this is fixable by design, to create a save the game needs to check its current state which in turn pause the main thread. It starts small but the time it takes will increase each run.

Dunno exactly what its in the save but it start at 50kb and after like 150+ runs is at 800kb+ so like more than 10x times bigger. If you want the precise amount Hades2 logs actually records the amount of bytes to save. So like, being so much bigger compare to when you start a fresh save its not a surprise you will get a tiny stutter during autosave.

750/150 = 5 kb each run maybe. Too much or too little to be just due to run storage? How many wins have you got in those 150 runs? If it really is Boons you won with etc, a win probably has more info than a loss. Since you can get 45(+) on a win?

I've been trying to get the Prophecy "Unfinished Business" for a while now (for the Steam Achivement) and I'm currently on night 121, I looked on the Wiki and it said all that was required was ||10+ Hearts with Od, but by now I've had his bond maxed for a handful of nights.||
I've already done the requirements to clear the Prophecy as well, specifically: ||Brought Knuckle Bones to Poly, Scylla and Circe (Twice)|| Yet I still don't have it unlocked or cleared. Am I still missing a hidden requirement or is something broken?

Yes, that part is normal. Since you are ||going into an alternate timeline to do this, it's basically as if you returned to that point in time but in an alternate universe where you hadn't beaten him yet, for the purpose of the Summit part of the run.||

Did you get the dialogue yet about ||shutting down the palace access||?

There's also a brief "beeping" that plays if you listen closely.

It's pure RNG for it to happen, and it can happen any time you dig.

Yeah but I still dont see a solution because as far as I know you cant clear the data of previous runs.
The problem lies in the fact that the game autosaves while the user can still move around, usually autosaves are run during loading screens or menus where the user dont have control over its character. I play games with a frametime graph and i dont think i have ever seen an autosave that did not cause a tiny stutter at the very least.

i'm not really sure what the best place to put this is, but i think the wording of the "improbable outcomes" prophecy doesn't really get across what it's actually asking you to do. i thought it was that you had to beat any two trials in a row, not the same trial twice in a row (and even then, the "in a row" aspect isn't very well communicated either imo). i had to google around for a bit to find out why i wasn't fulfilling the prophecy, it was only after that that i understood what the wording was trying to convey.

i'm not sure if there are plans for another patch, but if there are, it would be quite helpful if the wording on this prophecy was changed to better reflect what it's asking you to do (something to the extent of "clear the same all-random chaos trial twice in a row")

which is that i updated the wrong drivers 💀

Im not sure if it was intentional to allow only 1 omega special to be activated.
I think it should bounce everytime the same amount.
When it starts to bounce and you activate another projected impact the previous bounce won't bounce anymore and just disapear

Practically it means that if you cast omega special it will bounce 3 times
If you make another omega special while the first one is activated it won't bounce 3 times anymore -> the second impact will start his 3time bounces

Mathematically you can't do (3) + (3) + (3) + ... + (3)
It always depends acording to what timing u use to make another impact so let's say
(2) + (3)
(1) + (3)

And mechanically you can't stack bounces bcs making another impact during previous it deletes it
So I guess I should start with that at first

I tried hotfix and experimental, just tried 9.0.4 and that worked. My issue with this is my wifi is (really) slow so downloading new Protons takes about 2 hours 💀 like I said I keep bumping into this issue with every new update of Hades II, is there any chance for a fix (without having to install a new proton everytime)?

I did have similar issues with other games on windows 10. And if reinstalling the game doesn't fix it, the last thing to try is recheck drivers, updates, etc, and AT WORST, fresh install of windows. Cause it can get buggy at times.

I did find one issue, in my registry one of the values was pointing to an old mapped drive. I've updated that and I'm trying to uninstall and reinstall to see if that changes anything.

I suggest this cause, well, file explorer/installs are finicky when not ran as admin due to folder settings and sharing options set in windows

Hello friends. I have been struggling with the Unfinished Business questline. As in, it doesn't unlock for me. I have done the "Nobody but Nobody" prophecy. I have tried everything for Odysseus to turn up at the taverna drinking but he just won't do it. I have taken the knuckle bones to Circe and she mentioned him twice (first time she didn't want to elaborate on the topic and the second time she explained how he and his friends stayed at the island for a year. Then Melinoe spoke to him about his one year stay at the island as well. I have done about 30 runs since then both top and underworld. I even brought the knuckle bones to Scylla but again nothing has happened. I do not understand, there is literally no new dialogue every time I come back from a run. I have tried both being successful in a run and dying during a run. Does anyone have ANY advice on what else I could try? I cannot keep brute forcing runs like this.

Okay so apparently this was incorrect. I use the Official Steam game but I share the computer with my brother and he said his game is modded. I knew we shared a save file but I never knew he had done anything to his game files. My game files are clean. Does this change anything? It's possible, and depends on the mods / whether or not they impacted your launch of the game. Either way, he doesn't need to worry, neither of you would be in trouble

I checked your report, and it looks like you're quite close to Odysseus giving you the quest (so that it shows on the list of prophecies). You just need to fight Polyphemus, and then talk to Odysseus right after so that he comments on Polyphemus once again. After that, Odysseus should show in the Taverna where you need to talk to him, and then talk once again, normally (outside the Taverna, at his usual spot), and the quest should show on the list.

As a side note, since you share a save file with your brother, your game is now also modified, as you have tons of every resource in the Inventory. However, I think that it shouldn't affect your progression when it comes to this quest, as I don't think it depends on getting any crucial resource at any point, but you'll just have to keep doing runs and see how it goes.

If you only want to finish the Unfinished Business quest, then I'd say just keep playing on this save to do it. It might take a few runs for Odysseus to say the proper line, but as I said earlier, you're quite close to unlocking the quest so it shouldn't take too long. When it comes to reverting the save to a clean state it's best to ask around in modding sever (which is pinned in #self-promotion), or to start a fresh file, but that of course would take a lot time for you to get to the point where you are now (and "unmodding" might break things, so be careful with that and make a backup of your save).

Some characters just have to go through story lines before the bond lines will play, and that's when the hearts will unlock. Happy hunting!

Hi, I seem unable to get past the lock on Eris's bond. I have been playing since the beginning of early access. Have 150+ hrs in the game. I have maxed out bonds with everyone else but cannot seem to get past the lock on Eris's bond. It keeps telling me that ||"Eris may be interested in ambrosia after more victories against her" ||. You might also want to try toggling fullscreen and/or borderless, as well as disabling any overlays (such as Steam or Discord's)

Hello, After defeating Chronos, I become stuck in a progression loop where I repeatedly receive Gigaros and hear the same Zagreus dialogue. The story does not advance into the post-Chronos , and I cannot reach the ending.

This issue appears after having previously played the Early Access version with a trainer that unlocked all Incantations. In the full release save, core story flags appear to be desynchronized.

In more detail:
I played Hades II during Early Access, and at that time I used a trainer that would allow me to unlock all Incantations, including those tied to story progression.
In the full release, I continued playing on the same profile.
I defeated Typhon, and the surface path is now sealed, so I cannot go upward anymore (normal behavior post-Typhon).
I also have the required Incantations completed:
Dissolution of Time
Disintegration of Monstrosity

After defeating Chronos, the game gives me Gigaros again, and Zagreus repeats the same line of dialogue.
When I return to the Crossroads:
No new dialogue appears from Hecate or any NPC regarding ending Chronos for good.
Surface access is blocked.
Defeating Chronos multiple times results in the same Gigaros reward loop.

As a result, I cannot progress toward the ending, even though Typhon is beaten and relevant Incantations are completed.

Or do you have an input combo that you use a lot (such as Cast -> Dash-Attack -> Omega Attack or something like that) that you might have been using in that situation?

If it happens again and you're be able to catch it on a recording that would be great, as I suspect there's a specific input combination that might cause this. If you're not able to record, a screenshot where Mel is stuck in this pose would be great (where she's not hidden behind a reward).

It's interesting that in both cases you had Howling Soul, so I wonder if it could be related to that...

Unfortunately I don't have a memory of doing anything particularly unusual, but I would expect that a typical sequence of moves for me to be doing on coats would be Dash-Attack + Attack-and-Special, and if I had Howling Soul both times I might slip the directional cast in there as well.

Hi! New time chatter here. I am not sure if this has been brought up, but my Selene boons have not been matching appropriately to the phases that I pick them at and it's been that way for a while. Earlier today I picked out Night Bloom for a run. I was always under the impression this would only allow me 3 bonuses to acquire, plus my godsend. The next time I selected one of her boons, it gave me the menu with 5 bonus selections, plus godsend.

I know what you are talking about and no, that isn't it. So this is at the beginning of my run, Night Bloom is in the crescent moon slot which should only offer me 3 "bonus" enhancements for the hex. However when I gain my second Selene boon, the path of stars is mapped as if I had selected it at a full moon stage because it has 5. This is just one example but in a nutshell it does not matter what phase I select a hex at, the path of stars is completely random rather then actually being paired to it's correspondent moon phase

Hello, currently facing an issue where I'm stuck at the palace of Zeus and I'm not able to interact with the boon from Apollo.
See a few weeks back I installed the update with the incantation to go back and beat Chronos again with the new story events and upon doing so I only did underworld runs and my only surface run was the one where you beat typhon having acquired the spear. I beat Chronos and got credits now I'm supposed to meet Chronos both in the underworld and the surface. The underworld route is fine but on the surface after beating typhon and heading into Zeus palace, I get dialogue for beating typhon the second time from Zeus and Hera. Also Demeter is there but upon conversing with Apollo he points out that it's a shame Demeter isn't there. When he spawns the boon, I can't do anything with it and I'm basically stuck there. I have undid the night couple of times and even done a number of underworld runs but doing surface runs always ends the same.

Hey all. I've recently started having this issue where during my runs, there's nearly always one room transition that just stays on a black screen until I manually close the game. Hey, most likely this is caused by using mods that give you resources such as Void Lenses, which allows casting incantations (specifically, Disintegration of Monstrosity) earlier than intended, which can result in this weird state. You might be able to undo this by using Returning to a Real Possibility and progressing normally.

Wanted to post this in case anyone else ran into it: I finished all of my achievements on Switch 2 but two of them would not trigger as completed when I checked my achievements via Steam or Epic Games

• Sheep's Clothing

No matter how many times I completed the tasks on Switch 2, the achievement never unlocked. Once I completed tasks via Epic Games, the achievements finally registered.

What's even weirder is that "Goddess of Nightmares" triggered as completed before I tried unlocking the achievements on a different system.

Yes it’s recent, the game worked fine until now. Steam overlay did not help, so was uninstalling. It was really strange, there was also no system or game updates. Running on steam OS stable 3.7.17

Not sure if this is a bug, but I noticed that when I turn on tracking for individual duo boons in the Book of Shadows, the markers do not persist past the end of the current run (or the following run, if I turn on tracking while I'm still at the Crossroads). When I get back to the Crossroads, the boons have disappeared from my Forget-Me-Not list and I need to mark them again. I am on the latest version for the Switch 1. Sorry for the late reply. I was on PC, using steam. I was using the starter weapon, the witch staff, and when I was in the mourning fields, there was a chamber where I had 10 magik and I could keep casting my attack fully. I had the hammer effect which makes empowered attacks heal HP and after I used up the magik using my special, I could still use empowered attack. But once I went into the next chamber it was back to normal(as in when I ran out, I couldn't use the empowered attack). Perhaps it is related to the hammer upgrade?

I believe my save file may be affected by a progression bug related to the Insight into Offerings incantation and the God Boons Compendium.

My current status:

• I have already seen the credits
• I have given at least 2 Nectar to every god and most of the characters
• I have completed all incantations currently visible in the Cauldron
• I have done many runs with varied gods and boon choices
• I am in the post-game
• I am playing on Nintendo Switch (Switch 1)

Despite this:

• Insight into Offerings never appears in the Cauldron
• Because of that, I cannot access the full God Boons Compendium in the Grimoire
• I also tried to find a way to report this bug in-game, but I couldn’t find any reporting option.
• I have already tried restarting the game and doing additional runs, but the issue persists. This seems like a save-state/progression flag issue.

Could you please confirm if this is a known issue, or if there is any workaround planned?

Hi, I believe I'd recently made a bug report on Chronos having greatly increased frenzy. Though I'm not sure on the progress of the bug, I'd decided to create a lower-fear savestate that attempts to replicate the "setup" (some weird combination with how combobreaker interacts with freeze/gust?). Though the setup is inconsistent, the clips given show that this save is definitely able to reproduce the bug (in which the bug can be seen in effect after his combobreaker that follows his natural half-HP teleport in phase 1). If the savestate would help in identifying how exactly the bug works, I'd be happy to send it over

Hey, I think my game might be bugged.

For the past couple of days, I’ve been trying to finish the quest “Melinoe, find us.” After saving myself three times and then intentionally dying on the fourth attempt, I don’t receive anything and the prophecy doesn’t complete.
I’ve already tried:

• Doing it in normal trials
• Doing it in Chaos trials
• Completing three encounters in a row (no shops, Narcissus, etc.)
• Jumping in and out of encounters (shops, Narcissus, etc.)
• Game was not modded

I’ve repeated this process about three times (in normal trial) now and still haven’t gotten anything.

Do you mean the Twins of Typhon? They don't have a projectile, they burrow underground and then burst out to attack you. However, the enemy listed as your death cause is a Stalker -- the smaller, normal, non-miniboss version of that kind of enemy. So what probably happened is that you walked into the next room while low HP, and one of the small, non-miniboss burrower dudes got you.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a cursor issue I'm having with the game, where my cursor is just non existent. It started after an update a while ago - around 4/5 months ago and I've tried a few things such as removing epic overlay files and such, as well as going to "launch options" in the game settings (under "manage") and changing the input to "/EnableEpicOverlay=false" per a reddit suggestion, none solved the issue. I also verified the game files and updated all my PC drivers but none of those worked either, and uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I haven't been able to play the game without my cursor personally and I really miss it, but the hassle of going through all these "solutions" and them not working exhausted me. I really hope someone is able to help me because i have almost 300hrs in it that will be wasted if I have to buy the game in steam and start over all because of a cursor issue

i just bought the game after playing Hades I on my Macbook with no issues, however when i try to run Hades II it gives an error saying "Failed to start process for this game: OS Error 256". I have tried uninstalling the game, and also going to the browse local files option and opening it from there and it does work, but when i do this its like Steam isn't registering that Im playing it and its not logging my activity or opening steam overlay and I don't want to play without it saving my playtime and achievements. I am trying to set up cross saves between my nintendo switch and my pc. On my switch I connected my PC's steam account and everything seemed to have worked on the switch side (cloud saving icon and all). Then, I went to Hades II on my computer and nothing about cross saves showed up (nor did the save file from my switch). Also, I made a fresh save file on my pc then I tried loading up the other save file (with actual game data) on the switch and it asked me which file I wanted to keep (the switch or the pc one) so clearly they are communicating with each other. What should I do?

The first thing I would suggest doing is checking your Steam Cloud here: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorageapp/?appid=1145350

If it has your Switch save (based on the date/time and larger file size), download it manually, then you can use the steps here ( #h2-tech-fixes message ) to ensure your PC version is correct. (You should only need to do that once)

Otherwise, I'd suggest manually clearing your cloud save so it doesn't accidentally overwrite your Switch save. You can do that by opening the game through Steam, deleting the save files located here ( #h2-tech-fixes message ), and then closing the game.

From there, try disconnecting and reconnecting to Steam on the Switch, play a couple rooms, then save and quit.

If you want to make a fresh file on PC to test sending saves, I would recommend using a slot other than your main one, to minimize the risk of overwriting your progress.

Hopefully that's all clear—please let me know if you'd like clarification on any of it, I know that's a lot of information.

The main way to estimate would be based on the date/time. However, based on the file size, that's almost definitely your PC save. For clarity, the .v.sav file is NOT your save progress, just a temporary file used for cloud saves. The _temp.sav file is used for mid-run progress.

Ahh, gotcha. Could you check your saves folder (%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Hades II\) and see what files are currently in there?

Unfortunately, there may not be a lot that can be done while the game is still running.

You could try launching the game as Admin directly from the exe, even though it's already running. I can't make any promises about that working though.
