but that moment is genuinely the heart of the game for me, and if it didn't exist I would consider the story actively weaker, personally. ||the stuff with the fates was like. kind of nothing, but I didn't mind since they were barely part of Mel's story. same with Hypnos, he just kinda exists, idc that he had nothing to do||

and I just love SGG's original stories and worlds... so, for me, them getting started on a new project > DLC or Hades 3, always and every time

plus they can open up duo and/or legendary boons, and that can be quite nice

But it's complicated; Hades 2 as a sequel I feel did not improve much on the "action" part of gameplay. NG4 made some improvements on the standards set by DMC5 six years ago.
Hades 1 can feel monotonous on high heat. Nioh 2 made a lot of improvements on Nioh 1. So I feel both competitors might deserve more than Hades games and at most Hades should only win one of them.

i am so glad that hades 2 got just one award last night
