you should be able to not die on the surface in ~2 ish runs from now, if you know what to look for!
bronze also spawns in the very first area of the surface, so if you're impatient to unlock aspects you can always do a few surface runs where you just go as fast as possible and try to race against the timer to mine enough lol
idt you need to though, the gap between "I died on the surface" and "I did the incantation to not die on the surface" is usually very short unless you didn't ||do the fates + doom/moros incantations already||

Your logic isn't wrong necessarily; it's just that there are other even higher priority keepsakes for the start of the run.

• Typically, it is standard to take a god keepsake in the first 1-2 regions because the earliest part of the run is when controlling your build has the biggest impact
• There are also postgame keepsakes that can give you powerful persistent effects (such as making all of the boons you take start at level 4 instead of level 1, for the entire run), which is something you'd want active starting from the very very start of the run for maximum impact as well

each hex gets a bonus effect tied to that god, and some of them are REALLY good.
you can only use them once per room at baseline

(if someone else remembers the actual unlock requirement for godsent hexes pls remind me)
but in any case, they're great, it makes hexes way more worth it
you can make a hex godsent if you have the right god in your pool, and each hex is tied to a specific one

fine line only triggers once per Ω move you use, sadly, so no matter how many times your omega move hits you only get one line.
the same thing happens with weapons which innately multihit, like Eos attack, torch specials in general, momus, shiva special...
on the other hand, there are some effects like cut above which trigger when an Ω move hits, and they work differently than fine line

but fine line triggers only once when you spend the magick/finish channeling, so the omega special triggering additional times won't proc it

you're still "using" your Ω special once, even if it triggers twice in response, and that's the part fine lines cares about

I keep mulling over run modifiers and how to present them, user interface and flavour wise. And I have an idea:
Fated Tapestries

Basically, a secondary menu, akin to the Altar, and has a sequentially unlocking list of Tapestries/Weavings depicting the theme of the modifier they apply to the run.

These are things that change how the whole run feels but aren't always exactly balanced, or beneficial, or detrimental, and thus cannot be just Arcanae or keepsakes or vows, also because the effects are purposely wacky.

Examples include:

• All familiars equipped at once.
• All gods are in the pool and show up as regular boons, including Hermes, Athena, Artemis and Dio.
• Chaos boons on the surface, straight up, like a core god in the pool
• Biome/Location shuffle.
• The whole run is just Ephyra but you have to clear ALL doors and the difficulty increases progressively.
• An immortal snail that deals poison damage is always chasing you.
• etc.

They can also be combined (if compatible).

I think when I try Circe I get overly fixated on the gimmick and it trips me up. Every single damn time I've taken Circe to Rivals Eris I either ate dirt or returned to shadow.

I was thinking of Dressed to Kill (the one about keeping your silk), but tbh Silk and Spitefulness too -- I mean, the Odysseus prophecy also has a bunch of NPC-chasing (Circe lmao) and you gotta be messing with your keepsake setup, and it has more completion than either of them S&S

Bruh why do I find this game so much harder than the first. I beat my first run in hades 1 on like my 16th attempt. Here I’m almost at 20 and feel so hopeless😔

It’s easier once you get the flow and hang of it, you do have to play it different than hades 1. More methodical and planned compared to reactionary like Hades 1
